Yesterday my sister and I went to goodwill. I bought some sweaters that were 1/2 off. Not too nice to cut up and make pumpkins.
I made pumpkins from the body of the sweaters and the sleeves. I painted the table top the same green as Ted painted the chaise for me. I also painted this little wheel barrow a cream color , it was barn red last year.
This is a fake fern and a little scarecrow in a plant stand that's also been painted. I will be tweaking this a bit more I am sure. You know how we are when it comes to decorating, always switching things around. So I have been busy today and now it's time to sit out and enjoy the porch. Hope your day went well. We are to have two more days of this sweet weather, then possibly some rain.
Enjoy your afternoon. XO
Very cute pumpkins from sweaters!! Love them.
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
Deb, Thank you. One sweater probably could have been worn, it was not as old looking as the other two. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThese are so clever! And the color possibilities would be endless. I do love that color green on your table. My guys recently painted my kitchen table a green similar to it and I love it.
ReplyDeleteDewena, I told my husband , that one day some one would want to count the layers of paint on that table. I usually leave the base the same color and just paint the top for whatever my décor is at that time. I had a quart of that color and used it on the plant stand, chaise, table top and the bench slats. It's mixed with a cream color of other painted items. :) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour pumpkins are adorable! Very cute fall decor!
ReplyDeleteLinda, It certainly was cheap. The porch is looking very nice and all it cost was the price of the sweaters. I had those fake flowers and left over paint for the rest. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deleteyou are so very very creative!! The pumpkins are great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laurie. I will try to use them a couple years. I also thought you could use the sweater bodies for making quick pillows. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLove your pumpkins! Your vignettes are really setting a mood for Fall.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Judy, I take that as a great compliment from you. You are one of the best at making cute vignettes. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love these and very cute. I wish i had your creative talent. Pretty Fall setting. Hugs and love, xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, You made me smile...you are a sold author of poetry...now that's a talent. Glad you are enjoying some autumn weather. I think that rain mass that you are having soon will be working it way here to Indiana. I sweep more leaves off the porch each morning. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteAlways tweaking, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteI like how your sweater pumpkins turned out, Susie.
Kim, I have changed that porch around two times since we got all the furniture back on it. LOL. I think one could use the sweaters to make throw pillows too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYou have just been a busy little bee, Susie! Cute pumpkins! xoNellie
ReplyDeleteThank you Nellie. I can't wait to show my sister. Since she was with me buying the old sweaters. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a fun patch of pumpkins you have created, Susie! So very cute! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy, I brought the big white one and a couple little ones inside....they go well with some fake whites I have. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie! Susie! SUSIE!!!!! I absolutely LOVE your fabric pumpkins and I SO intend to make a pumpkin patch FULL of them for my bedroom! It will have to be a small patch, I know!! They look GREAT!!! How fun is this???
ReplyDeleteLinda, You know you could also make throw pillows with the sweater bodies. I used an old cheap pillow's stuffing to help make these pumpkins. I used some sticks from the tree trimming as a stem. I also wanted to make a bunch of pumpkins like you and the quads made. Blessings, love you, Susie
DeleteThat is just so smart! Your pumpkins look adorable all dressed up!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy. I had some lace and bias ribbon, the leaves were from a big fake plant in the house. The stems are some of the tree trimming I did last week. So it was all pretty cheap. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie,

DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
I have always vowed to make these type of pumpkins...Hopefully, it will not take me 3 years like it did to make the ones out of toilet paper!!
I am almost done decotating the Dining Room for Halloween and from there, I will move on to doing some Christmas crafts...
Hugs,
Deb
Debbie, you made me laugh about how long it took to get around to making those TP pumpkins. I wanted to try these sweater pumpkins last year...ran out of time. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteThank you Laura. I always wish I had a crafting partner. My Emma Pooh just doesn't visit any more...breaks my heart. Our children grow up and away. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteTete, I was glad I finally made some. I wanted to try last year...well you certainly know how out time gets away from us. Can you even believe it's 5 days till this month is over.? blessings, xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteThanks BJ. I am glad I at least got them finished .. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWell they are just darling..what a great way to use an old sweater, and the little cream wheelbarrow is too cute. Feeling like Fall around your place.
ReplyDeleteWanda, I tell my husband archeologist will have a great time delving thru the layers of paint from every thing I ever touched. LOL. I never throw paint away...I use it up. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love those. you just reminded me of a box of "stuff" I bought a couple of years ago to make some pumpkins. I'm going to have to get that out! And yes I'm going to Horton's today. Maybe I'll see you there. I'm driving the big tan Durango instead of the little red a fiat. We need room for purchases!
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
Cindy, Get busy making your pumpkins and post about it...I looked for you today...so sorry I missed you. We need to synchronize our watches. LOLHope you had a good time. Blessings , xoxo,Susie
DeleteOoooo, look at all the white pumpkins! I went with orange pumpkins this year, but I love the white ones too. I like the color of green that you chose for your table top, it's soothing. Your porch is so big, and it would be nice to just sit out there and enjoy these Autumn days.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, If you only knew how many layers of paint were on that table, you would laugh. It will be an archeological find one day. :):) I am looking forward to the lunar eclipse this Sunday night. I love things like that. Blessings for a great weekend, love you girl, Susie
