Treasures Found....

Friday , after bingo at the senior center with my sisters, Brenda and I went junking. We went to the Goodwill in Kokomo . I found this tiny tea set trimmed in gold. So cute. I thought it would look nice on a small stack of books  draped with a doily,as a center piece, when I have my sisters over for lunch.
I also snatched up this silver bowl. Polished it as soon as I got home. It's very pretty. Rare that you find silver in goodwills any more.
On Saturday Brenda and I went to the rummage sale at the 4-H building in town. It was a bit sad compared to years before. Not many booths...and as all of you know , there truly is a time when things are junk !! But one sweet lady was selling her jewelry and some she had made. I spotted this Madonna and Child necklace. It is stamped on the back, "The Vatican Library Collection".  I am sure it's real gold.  I think it will look great if I wear it with a black turtle necked sweater.
Hope all of you enjoyed your Halloween evening. We did not get any one trick or treating here. We just live too far out . I did see photos of my granddaughters dressed to go with their friends.  Which made me smile.
Here's hoping we all have a beautiful November.  I have sunshine today. Love it. XO

    1. Lynne, Two of my sister will go junking with me and two just hate it. It's hard to get us all together any more. I used to have 4 luncheons a year for us..now I am lucky if it's one. But I still enjoy it. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie

  7. That tea set is absolutely beautiful and I would love to have a real set for our grandkids. They have enjoyed over and over the plastic set, but they aren't ready yet for real China. The silver bowl is lovely and I really like your idea about setting it all up with the doily and all. Good Sunday.

    1. Nonnie, The tea set is very small...only could be used for dolls or decorating. Do you visit Linda at Linda's Life Journal...she has a tea party every week with her grand kids...they are quads. They started with plastic but I think they use real china now. I hope you'll check her site. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Susie, the Madonna and Child necklace is beautiful. I can't believe you came across that. Yes, it will look good with a black sweater or even a white sweater. I love your tiny tea set, and Jess would love it as well because she likes all things miniature. You missed the little Starbucks coffee cup that I added to my post today hehehe.

    Happy November, dear Susie.

    1. Sheri, I think Jess would love this tea set for sure. It's all sitting on a platter the size of a normal saucer. That's how small it is. I do love this necklace. I looke dit up and there were many designs of jewelry under that name...but I did not find the exact one. Blessings, love, Susie

  12. Your necklace is beautiful Susie! I agree, worn with a black turtleneck sweater will really show it off! We don't get any trick or treaters here either.
Plus, with the weather being so awful, not many people were out and about.
Your tea set is so sweet! and what a great silver bowl!
Have a nice week, dear friend.

    1. Hi Debbie, Oh my gosh, I remember my girls wearing coats to go trick or treating...cause they sure were not going to miss it. LOL. I watched the Charlie Brown cartoon the other night and thought of my girls. They used to want PB fudge and popcorn while that was on when they were young girls. I had to text each one and tell them I missed them. LOL. We had the prettiest day today and will have warm weather till Thursday . I am going to soak it all up. :) Blessings to you, hope you are feeling better. Love you sweet friend, Susie

  19. Howdy! I wasn't home for Halloween, but as I drove to my friends house I did see many kids out. The weather has been wonderful and tomorrow (Thursday) it will hit around 73. This is Nov. 4th! I will be making a trip to Goodwill as I have things that I don't use that could be used. Who knows I might even buy something there.
