The Days Of My Life....

This  Tuesday morning the sun is shining after  an early frost. Just look at this beautiful sky color.
This was Monday morning. We had a little dusting of snow, by noon it was gone and the day was sunny. Before noon though I was into the dentist and back home. It was time for my cleaning and exam. After dentist picked around, he says I need a new crown. Bummer. Now this is the same tooth I had him look at in the fall and also had another dentist consult with my dentist  about it. I still think I will end up getting an implant before the dentist is done with this area of my mouth. I am to the point I rather go for denture than keep replacing crowns and getting implants. Yikes.  :(:(
This is how the day looked after the snow melted yesterday. A nice glowy sunset. Ted put the Christmas things away once I took this picture and pointed it out. LOL.
Nothing much going on here now that the holidays are over.  I hope all of you are starting your new year with a bit of relaxation . Be safe. XO

  1. Are you longing for snow or happy to have the sunshine? I would assume you will most likely have both this winter! Stay happy and warm!

    1. I just would like for our winter be as near normal as possible. I know we expect snow in winter. I can deal with the cold as long as there's some sunny days here and there. :) Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  2. I am relieved for those of you in the Midwest and the Northeast. Last year you were all buried in snow and ice all winter long. I hope it's a milder season for you this year.

It seems once one turns 55 every visit to the dentist results in some type of major repair and $1000.00 out of pocket. I hope a new crown does the trick!
    Happy New Year, Susie!

    1. Lynne, I was so thankful that the rains stopped here in time .It's so sad about the flooded places. There towns will never be the same. I pray for them.
Oh dear, my problems with my teeth are insane..I buy fluoride tooth paste, I use Act rinse, I have special brushes, even a soft baby brush that I use once a day. I can't even explain it. It could be from my childhood of being malnourished and having my daughters while I was still in my teens.(not the twins) Otherwise I haven't a clue...I have my teeth cleaned and x-rayed twice a year. I have some caps, crowns, one implant and fillings...yikes, I am tired of the dentist. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. I see you are still sitting in the sunshine this morning!!! I am so happy you get a little time to wind down! BOO on dental visits! I dread those more than anything else!!!
We are leaving for the ranch today! I am here visiting you now before I go because Louis Dean is still asleep! I went to bed last night at 10:00 aand he was still up in the den. At midnight I woke up to the delicious aroma of fried ham! He had made himself a sandwich and I went in and asked him to make another one - and I took the partially eaten one and went back to bed where I ate it and then went back to sleep!! That was the best fried ham sandwich EVER!!!

    1. Linda, I laughed about your in the night sandwich. Once my brother came home from setting bowling pins(old days) , he brought home two cheeseburgers and chocolate milksahkes for him and me. He woke me up and said, :hey sis, do you want to eat with me?' We had to go to school the next morning...but there it was midnight and Charles and I were eating those cheeseburgers and drinking those shakes. It was heaven. That's what being poor was like. LOL. Blessing, love you, Susie

  6. Oh I know what you're saying about the dentist. It comes to us all and it is soooo expensive. All the best with the new crown.

Looks as if you are walking on the sunny side of the street these days. Lovely to see the sun on a cold winter day.

    1. Vee, I have paid near 60 dollar a month for dental insurance , because I am so afraid of what my teeth will do. It is expensive. Makes me so sad for people who truly can't afford insurances. I have to enjoy this wonderful sunshine...even though it's so cold out...the sun helps . Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  7. Your house look warm and cozy. I am resting too much today. It's so hard to get back to normal for me. Not sure I know what normal is anymore. Hugs

    1. Gosh Debby, you have not had normal for so long...you may have to make a new normal for you and your husband. You've been kind of chasing your own tail for a year...or it seems. Packing, showing and selling your home, then moving, dealing with the needs of your youngest child, then your MIL's illness, then her death..I am surprised you are not bald from pulling your hair. LOL. I would be girl. You are always in my prayers. Bless your heart, xoxo,Susie

  8. Laughing at you and Linda's midnight snacks. I have a urge every once in a while to get up and sneak a piece of banana bread . Sometimes sneaky is fun.
We have RAIN and lots of it today in our usually sunny CA. But heavens, we need it so I won't complain. Do have doctor appt. this afternoon, but have umbrella's.
Those Annual checkups and flu shots.
Have a great day. Love and Hugs.

    1. Wanda, Laughing about Linda's midnight ham sandwich, just made me think of my brother Charles, bringing food home in the night for me too. I am sure the other brothers and sisters would have loved some of it..I think I ate that while, half asleep. Hope you don't get too much rain. The weather been kind of wacky these past few months. Scary in some places. Have to keep praying for all those people. Oh I am such a scady cat when it comes to going to the dentist and I love my dentist. I just don't like that kind of pain. Seems it's always something. Best of luck to you and your husband for good reports. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. It's very nice to be able to relax now that the holidays are done, but they were fun while they lasted. I'm sorry about your tooth. I don't know how many implants you've had. I had one last year and it was quite a process.

    1. Nonnie, I have only one implant and I honestly have had trouble since then...not that the implant has caused anything...but then I wonder. It was a long healing time to get the tooth and the flipper was an unwearable pain. I was so glad when that was over. LOL. But it's always something isn't it? Blessings to you Nonnie, hope your new year is starting off great. xoxo,Susie

  10. Yes, I'm just relaxing in the new year, Susie. It feels good because I know that Jess will be having many events coming up for her wedding. The view of your home outside is so pretty, especially with the morning frost on your lawn. All my Christmas stuff is put away also, Susie. It's nice to have a fresh start in the new year.

    1. Sheri, I hope you and Jess can work out the wedding plans , so that everything goes smoothly. My house is just an old farm house but it's comfortable and it does have great views...especially the skies. Oh yes, honey, am glad to have my Christmas decorations all put away.I just kept the evergreen branches in the containers on the porch and around the mailbox. It's only 75 days till spring. LOL. Blessings, love you, Susie

  11. Hi Susie, I sympathize with your tooth. I have one that has had a little of everything done to it and it still hurts! lol
It has finally turned cold here in GA. In the 20's this a.m. but the sun was shining.
Your home is so pretty and I love the view you have across the road. The sky is so pretty.
Hope you have a restful evening. xo

    1. Mildred, My fear of the dentist doesn't help me. I had a root canal and a crown put on a molar and it's still sensitive. But the tooth that is bothering me is a canine. I just get upset, because I do my best to take care of my teeth. This is the original farm house in the area..then two others were built later. The people in them are from the first farmers around here. So this house is 60 years old. I do love my sky views here. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  12. I hope you don't have to get an implant. It seems like they always want you to have something extra done when you go for a cleaning. I try to put them off. lol Hope you have a good night my friend. Hugs, Diane

    1. Diane, I hope I do not need an implant either. But since the hygienist and the dentist picked around my tooth it's been so sensitive. The hygienist told me my gums are healthy and my teeth never need much cleaning. I brush, use floss and Act rinse, then at night I brush with a special fluoride paste. I m a big scardy cat too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  17. Not a great Monday, Susie. Our weather was the same. I'm sorry about your dental issues. I get cleaning done every 6 months and I had the hygentist just tell me I had gum disease starting. And just $1000 to treat. Goodbye!

    Love and best wishes,

    1. Blondie, I have had my teeth cleaned every six months , plus x-rays for over 40 years now. That is one reason I get so up set. It's not like I don't care for my teeth...so what is happening. A thousand dollars!! My husband was told he had the start of gum disease and they sold him one of those water picks . Then he gets to little sticking measurement once a year. I think you can get those water picks at the drugstores. :) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
