Spring Things.....

A beautiful row of forsythia.   I love it growing natural, not trimmed back.  It just seems to have more flowers that way.
I know the pinkish tree is called a magnolia tulip. I am not sure what the white flowering tree is called. I do know it's not a fruit producing tree.  They look so pretty all bloomed out....you all know the blossoms do not last long on the trees.  Hope you are seeing some spring weather and flowers in your area.
I met the new doctor, Jesse Spear, yesterday. Great bedside manner. Young, but with 11 years in his field already.  Gave me a check up. Ordered a  mammogram and bone scan. Then took me off my cholesterol meds for a couple weeks ...then we'll do a blood work up and he will lower my dosage. Hooray. I have told the last two drs. that I thought my dosage was a bit high. I take two pills a day...one for cholesterol, one for reflux. I also take a fish oil and vitamin for women.
Yes he told me to keep exercising and eating healthy....well blast, there goes my sweet treats. I told him the internist told me to lose 20 pounds, Dr. Spear said, "well did you?" I said , "no I just got a new dr. ".LOL...I don't think he thought that was funny. Hmmm?  But I do like this young doctor and hope he will stay in our town  for many years.
Wishing everyone a good day.  Look for a blessing to give thanks.   XO

  2. That's a hoot about telling him you got a new doctor. I remember going to an orthopedic doctor about stress fractures in my feet. He told me that I was just a big girl with little feet. Grrrr. I call him Dr. Weinerheimer which is not his name but close to it.
Our trees are blooming. Such a pretty time of the year.

  3. It might take him a few years to develop a sense of humor. But I liked your quip. :-) Happy to hear that you are going to like this fellow. We have no trees blooming here yet, but yours sure are pretty! And I haven't given up hope, although we're supposed to get rain/snow on Sunday. xo

  4. That white tree almost looks like a flowering pear. But on closer inspection, the flowers look a little too big. Let us know, if you find out what it is. Do you take Vit D?

    1. Laurie, If I ever see anyone out at that house, I will ask about that tre...but you are right it certainly has the beautiful flowers of a Bradford pear. I take a vitamin that is all inclusive. I will find out more when I have a bone scan. I am in really good health. But my little sister has bad ostio. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. I recognize the tulip tree, we call it a Japanese Magnolia, have no idea what the white one is. I just use the old song, " Cherry pink and Apple Blossom White" and that's my answer to pink and white trees.

  9. Glad you have a new doctor, however cholesterol medicines landed me in the hospital for 4 days trying to figure out what was wrong, I was having horrible pain below my left breast. It was my damaged liver and pancreas from cholesterol medicine !!! really
It took a long time for my liver to heal
my meds was simivastin spelled something like that. you can read up how women can not tolerate cholesterol medicines

That's my 2 cents on the subject

    sure hope you get better

I'm on a no sugar diet because of my blood sugar so HIGH

I just want to take a pill so I won't want to eat LOL

I hope it hasn't hurt my liver. I wonder about being achy, cause I know it hurts our muscles. Thank you for telling me how you did. It does help us to hear what others do.Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  13. You are so funny! The joke about changing docs...I've heard something similar about the man who has to get rid of his wife or dog due to allergies! Hmmmmm...

Hope all works out health wise---I have high cholesterol, too, and I was lucky in my recent blood test to find my 'good' cholesterol is higher than the bad. Before adding meds she wants me to exercise more. Gosh---I hate exercising! Seriously!!!!

I think that is a Bradford Pear. Gorgeous!

  14. I need to lose twenty x two! Darn it! Hey that white tree is a Bradford pear and I just read that there is a man whose mission is to get rid of all Bradford pears because they cross pollinate with regular pear trees! I've never heard that before.

    1. Cindy, I had not heard that before about the pear pollination. I thought when people grafted to make different trees they studying on that stuff. I do not think I would decorate a lawn with a Bradford pear if there were real pear trees near. I hope it's not messing things up in nature. How's the bees doing? Blessings for you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Missy, This isn't a routine test...Doctor called it a Bone density scan. It is to see if I need extra calcium..I guess. New dr. I think they push some things to make money for the hospitals. But it's ok. my little sister has bad osteoporosis, so it's better save than sorry. That's funny about the pear trees...I have never been near one..as I do not have any. Our neighbor has a real pear tree and I will try to get some blooms. ;):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  16. Hi Susie, so glad you like your new doc. That is half the battle, I think. I have had a few of those bone density tests. They are harmless, actually very restful, if you like laying down on a table with the lights dimmed. You do hear the whirring of the machine though. I have been lucky that mine has always been good. It is really good to know this as you age..Beautiful spring flowers and trees..Happy Thursday..Judy

    1. Judy, I used to get a density test at my OB/GYN's office...it would usually scan your hand. I have also had a full body scan at the hospital. I have ben told I have my mom's good bones. She was straight a poker at 83 when she passed....and never had hormone replacements, after a hysterectomy at 36 . My sister Brenda had hysterectomy at 25 and never took hormones and she has very bad osteoporosis. So it is good to know where we stand. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  18. Susie, I've been wanting to take a fish oil vitamin. Do you see a difference in your energy when taking them? Ooooo, there's a pink and white blossom tree right next to each other. In my area, they seem to have lost all of their flowers already.

I wanted to thank you for your comment today. It was so special and meant the world to me. I loved it very much. :)

I have been taking these for about a month and a half...and yes, I can tell I truly feel better..more energy. Even if you eat well, you may need something you are missing in your foods.
I do think a lot of you Sheri and do not even know you other than thru blogging. I feel you are genuine. A true loving mother and I love having you as a friend. Blessings, xoxo,Love, Susie

    1. Gert, Our spring seems to be dragging some colder weather with it. Today is rainy, partly cloudy and cool. I needed a new dr. because ours just up and left everyone. Yes, I hate taking meds. I always fear your body will count on the drugs and not do what it is suppose to do. Some times the side effects are scarier than the disease. Blessings for a great weekend. xoxo,Susie

meds! I do 3 weeks at a time. High
cholesterol, blood pressure, thyroid, acid reflux.....and then LD had high cholesterol, blood pressure , acid reflux + heart meds. It's ridiculous! Still, I'm grateful for the medications that help keep us active and can take care of our health issues!
