Father's Day...

I will start this post showing Kathy's rose. Happy birthday sweet Kathy Jane. Your rose is in full bloom.  With your birthday coming up this week, I thought you'd love to know. Love you.
This is me eating my lunch with all my friends yesterday. LOL. I stopped at the dairy queen for lunch yesterday , took this shot and sent it to Kathy. We laugh about it, because she eats alone lots of times.
After lunch, I leave town to go back home ....I looked back and got a shot of the Co-op.
Once I get home, I relax on the porch . Of course there's a load of laundry going. Our weather was just glorious yesterday. It's been nice this whole past week. We will get some needed rain coming this week.
I would like to wish all the wonderful fathers out there a day of love and family. I miss my dad. So all of you who still have your fathers, be thankful and hug him for us who have lost ours.  Enjoy this good day. XO

  2. "life is better on the porch!"

Oh my yes! You, who have one, are so lucky. A screened in one would be perfect, to me, that is. :-)

    1. Mildred, I would love to just smell some Old Spice aftershave ...it would make me think of dad. He wore that all the time. :):) I love how very nice this past week has been...just so much like summers gone by. Wish your husband a happy father's day from us. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Your rose is beautiful! It's hot in Texas so I'm not really sure I would call it glorious!
I don't often go out to eat by myself. Probably because I am not by myself much at all!
Happy Father's Day to your Ted!!!

    1. Linda, I do not want to complain about it being hot...when I think how long winter keeps us in. But some times the heat does too. I have just loved this past week's weather. Not too hot, no rain and sunny skies. I could always eat alone at home. But some times I make myself go out to eat even by myself. My daughter Kathy does, because her man is on the road often. My retirement isn't all the ladies' teas and luncheon, that I dreamt it would be. LOL. Happy Father's Day to your sweet LD. I will pass your wishes along to Teddy. Thank you. Blessings, love you guys, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Kathy, Ted and I go out to eat together lots...but when he isn't home I some times do not want to cook at all. I would rather eat in a quiet place anyways,so no one in the DQ didn't bother me. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Blondie, I know you will grow another rose.:):) You truly like gardening. Some times I like to sit on the porch and write letters and listen to my Carpenters' CD. I don't like to get big laundry groups...Ted says I sort too much. He would wash it all in one load. LOL. Hope you had a beautiful weekend. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  9. I looked at the photo of "you and your friends" eating lunch and then enlarged it and STILL didn't see any people...hahhaa...I don't mind eating alone one bit...I've even been known to go to a movie on the spur of the moment, alone...pretty neat, actually
hope all the dads in your family had a good day

    1. BJ, You cracked me up. I love your sense of humor. I took that picture to send to my daughter....she eats a lot by herself and even antiquing alone. Some times I love being by myself and other times I would love to have company. Thank you for the good wish for all the dads here. I think everyone did have a good day. Blessings to you and I know your Mr. sweet had a good weekend. Cause you are always cooking up something so good. xoxo, Susie

  10. Hope your hubby had a great Father's Day.
Susie I can understand the fun and pretty of living near the country now. While our new place is suburbia if you go out the back way you are on country roads with farm after farm and lots of horses and cows on your travels. Love it. Best of both worlds. Have a wonderful week.

I wish we lived more close we'd sit together and feel the nice summer breeze and talk away the hours. Love and blessings to you dear friend. xo

  13. The rose is very pretty, Susie. It's such a nice color too. Yes, I am also missing my dear dad on Father's Day, but he is always in my heart. Your porch sounds like a charming and peaceful place to rest and just watch the world go by. I'd love to have a porch like this, Susie.
