Rainy Saturday.....

Today is rainy. I changed my plans with my daughter Karen.  I think we will just not plan and play it by ear next week. Went to my oldest daughter's house for lunch yesterday. She wanted me to see her petunias.
I bought her this little group of pots many years ago...makes me smile to see her using them.  She said she could not decide on one color or two , so she just planted many colors. :)
Even though it was sprinkling, I went to town to pick out some flowers for the porch.  I chose a hanging red petunia. I will probably rearrange part of this pot.
I love the white petunia in this hanging basket. It also has a little salmon colored plant with it. I do not know what it is called...But I will remove it., to use elsewhere. I got a flat of white and red petunias.  Now I need to get busy painting my containers.
We had 8 days of 80 degrees and higher...in a row. So I think we needed some rain. I sure do not want anything heavy. I am sick for the people in Texas and some of the southern states. They have had too much rain and devastation.  Thinking  of them, and sending prayers.
Hope all of you are getting some enjoyment into your weekend. XO

  1. I love pots, for flowers. Only thing is, one has to water pots daily. But they are so cute.

Another nice day here... Not so warm. Might get T-storms tomorrow though.

Well, we take what we get.

But so sorry for those, who are getting so much, that they are flooding. So sad.

    Soft rain hugs,
    Tessa

    1. Tessa, I know we need a little rain here...just hoping it's not too much...but then Oh my gosh, the south, it's scary. You are so right about potted plants...have to check them all the time. But so far the rabbits haven't found the ones on the porch. LOL. I may need to look for a repellent to sprinkle around. Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

  2. I love petunias and they grow so well here in the Pacific Northwest. The town where we live is lines with huge baskets of petunias hanging from every street light post. Breathtakingly beautiful.

    1. Linda, There's big containers all over our town. It takes a man driving around to water them . They have them in the park also. A town north of here does the hanging basket at the lamp posts. I love that. It just makes a town seem friendly and pretty. I thought of you yesterday when I saw the train fuel cars burning...hoping you are safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Susie, I have hung plants by the shop, to lure hummingbirds. But I am hoping to take the hangers off and just use these on my porch . Hope you are getting to sit out and enjoy some good days there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Hi Susie,
I love that your daughter is using your pots and planting them with pretty petunia's. We are getting about the same kind of weather you are. I was happy to see some rain today too. Have a good week end.

    1. Kris, When I saw those pots at Angie's , iot just made me happy. We used to put them around a bench she had, but she left it at the old house. We had a some down pours and a bit of wind , lost a limb from the maple in back. Thankfully no damage there. Hope to get my flowers done this week. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. Plenty of rain here. Good for the flowers but my grass is like a meadow. I need some sheep.

Love your daughter's pots. The orange colored flowers look like verbena.

    1. BLondie, I am hoping to finish up these flowers here. Rabbits ate some. Last year they ate about all I planted...I just hope they never find the porch. LOL . Boy our lawn has had to be mowed twice , some times to mulch the grass up. Ted rakes it at times also. A pet sheep would be good if it only ate grass. LOL Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. I watch the news in horror at all the devastation the rains have brought. Is it wrong that I am so grateful that we have not had flooding in our house or even water in the den? I don't think we could have handled that this year as we did last year.....

    1. Linda, I am shocked at the amounts of rain that Texas has had.No, you have a right to be thankful for no flooding there. I pray all the time here for no over powering rains. You know those ants made me crazy, then it was 4 mice, I am ready to live in a tower. LOL. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

  9. I love potted plants, especially petunias but I don't have good luck with them. We have petunias that I planted in the ground and they are doing great.

    1. Sheri, Over an hour ago, I started to answer your comments and my computer decided it would download windows 10 on it's own. I can see some differences already. Geesh. No only is our weather crazy this year but so is all the electronic "stuff" in this world. I am not a techy...so it just makes me nuts. LOL. Thank you for the nice comments about our yard. Even that gets to me at times. Girl, I think I need a vacation. LOL .. My daughter helped me with my blog when I got started and she would ask me what I wanted to say and then typed it in. You know I have met some wonderful caring people by blogging. You are absolutely one of them. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
