I finally got Emma to lay her phone down and join me in crafting. She got a polaroid camera for her birthday and has been taking some pictures. She needed an album for her photos. I had an old one , but it had a floral cover, that she transformed with pretty craft papers. She loves it.
She paired up pictures, as you could get two in each photo pocket. We kind of started two crafts at the same time. My goodness this girl can get glue from one end of the house to the other.:):)
I had an old soft t-shirt to use for the next craft. Kind of showed Emma while she was gluing.
Cut the t-shirt material into long strips about 1 1/4 inches wide. Pull the ends till the material stretches and it will roll into it's self. Once it's a long rolled strip, tie knots every 3 inches or so.
This is the finished look. Girls can wrap the large loop around their wrists many times. You could add big beads possibly , between knots, or at the ends. I got this idea from the bracelet I bought from Donna Jenkins' booth at the French Market, last Friday. I gave the one I bought and two I made to Savannah. Emma had two for herself. A quick easy fun craft for kids.
This is Izzy Bella, she belongs to Emma. When I took Emma home yesterday this was one happy cat.
You can see Emma loves Izzy right back. Grandma Irene came to Emma's and picked her up for a few days at her house.
When I got back home I made this table setting. The table cloth is really a plastic one, I will smooth out all the wrinkles and bumps. I wish I had this on the table when Emma was gluing. I do like my plastic tablecloths with Emma and Ted around. Know what I mean .:):):)
My daughter Karen and I talked yesterday. The dr. who was to do the biopsy warned her of the things that could happen when inserting a big needle into the lungs. He ordered an x-ray to pinpoint the area, after the x-ray he decided the node was smaller. Well, here's my complaint, why didn't he say all this, before the IV. So Karen will have a scan in 3 months to see if the node is indeed getting smaller. Karen was not happy , she just wants this over. So she will be getting the scan and that will be her new starting point. Thanks to all of you that left comments you helped me so much.
We will be in for some nasty weather today and this evening, you know like this heat isn't enough. LOL. Take care , be safe. XO
What fun. I love it when I can get the grandsons to craft with me - not as often these days as they get older - but now they are learning card games so we have fun with that.
ReplyDeleteJoann, When Emma was younger we make a craft every time she came over. She has some signs, a birdhouse and some paintings she had done while here. I just want her to have good memories of her time at papaw and nana's house. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteEmma is a pretty girl. Nice you were able to spend some time with her. They grown up so fast.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Emma is trying to grow up too fast, some times. But those darn electronics are becoming a big old pain. She still has some crafts at her house that she and I made together. Papaw helped her make a cute birdhouse, it's hanging in a tree in her yard. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's a different world today and kids just love their electronics. Glad you got some crafting in. That was a cute idea with the t-shirt, making it into a bracelet.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the doctor is being cautious with Karen. Better the scan than the biopsy where there are worse consequences. It would be great if the node just disappeared on its own.
Kathy, That is what I am praying for...that the node just disappears. I told Emma if she had two old tshirts in their school colors, it would be fun to make some bracelets for her friends to wear to school. Like red and white. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi, so thankful the Doctor didn't do the biopsy, but he should have decided before she took off of work. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, I totally agree about that dr. and the biopsy. We are having storms right now. Makes me on edge. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteShe is so cute. Can't we just freeze them. I hope she doesn't get on Pokemon Go. Hugs
ReplyDeleteDebby, I know you absolutely feel the same as I do about our sweet grandkids. I am always squeezing Emma and telling her no you can't grow up just yet. I do not thin her parents will let her do that Pokemon junk. They have locks on her phone. and go thru it every now and then. Blessings to you, hope all is well. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo sorry that Karen is going through this, Susie, and You too. I sure hope she gets the best medical care she needs.
ReplyDeleteEmma got a new poloroid camera, how wonderful! You know, I used to take pictures with a poloroid camera of children on Santa's lap at a Fundraiser that I was involved with every year. They're so fun to use. This is a cute picture of Emma and Bella. It sounds like you and Emma had a great time crafting. Love the bracelets you made, how clever.
love, ~Sheri
sheri, I am glad that Karen, is just going to get the new scan in 3 months and then they will compare the results with the x-ray taken on Monday. Hopefully the node will just disappear. Emma does love that camera. She really takes nice photos . I like to try to think of an easy craft that the kids will enjoy. When Savannah came by later I had two bracelets for her. She liked them. Hope you are having some good weather and are no where near the fires. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteGlad you had some crafty time with Emma. She is a cutie pie. Glad Karen got some good news on the node. If it is shrinking that is a good sign that it is probably not anything serious. Good news and great memory making for you with Emma. Have a great rest of the week. We got some bad storms tonight too. Glad they moved out of here quickly.
Kris
Kris, I feel that by crafting, we have special time. Emma talks to me while we are doing them too. I hope one day she will say to her own grandkids, that she had a great time with me. We did have some storms...not hail though, so thankful. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteCrafting is a great way to get those teens to drop the phone---good for you.
ReplyDeletePraying for your sweet daughter. Yes, there is much to be desired from the medical community.
Jane
Blondie, It was fun to do some quick crafts with Emma. She has the photo album she needed and some cute bracelets to wear. I noticed your granddaughter is already growing like a weed. :):) Thank you for the prayers for Karen. I hate when my children are ill. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteShe is just darling Susie! I love it! Crafting with grandbabies is simply the best time ever! Big hugs for a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Betsy. I hope that Emma will think back to our times together as fun. Some thing she can talk to her own grands about one day. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteEmma and Izzy Bella are both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI understand Karen's concerns. I have very bad lungs too, but I am older so I am not worried. I tell my doctor that the my health insurance company can use the same funds to help out a younger person. She laughed and said that it does not work that way. Go figure.
Hi Munir, When our children are ill , we parents will worry. I think Karen will be fine, but that was a lot to go thru at that time. Plus costly for her family, since she and her husband missed work for the test. I am sorry to read about your lung problems. I hope you are well. Hugs to you my friend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie..
