The Greenhouse...

I did go to Horton's yesterday afternoon. They were in the process of getting their autumn market ready.  This is the side door to the store. They always decorate this fountain spot. Look at the huge caladium. I have only ever seen them this big in Alabama.
The corn stalks are up on the roof of the outdoor area. Their Autumn Market banner is up. The market will be September the 26th  , 9-4...there will be venders come in also.
The greenhouse was full of mums. Here's the yellow group. Love these.
This is the counter where the Mrs. Horton's mother makes the sweetest bouquets. It's in disarray right now.
They are selling these vining plants and I am not sure what they are called.  There are pink flowers on one and red on the other. I am sure hummingbirds would love these.
I took this picture of the cornstalk near the entrance of the greenhouse.  The half barrel planters are filled with ferns, white impatiens, and alyssum.
There are barrels all around their store. Every year they have different flowers and plants in them.
I'll have more pictures tomorrow of things inside.  I always ask before I take pictures and the Hortons are accommodating . As I look back thru this group of pictures, there seems to be color missing...but they are not completely set up yet.
Hope everyone has a good day. I am hoping also that it's not as hot here today.  XO

  5. Yellow mums are my favorite!
We rescued a large fountain similar to the one at Horton's from Amber and Mike's house. We have had it for nearly 2 years and Louis Dean just now set it up in the back yard where he will put a pump in it and use it to attract birds. We have hung a new feeder in the tree above the sand box. It all takes time! I think having ponds and fountains make outdoor living so nice. I love the sounds. When we have the kitchen French doors open and the pond is bubbling, it sounds like I'm frying bacon!!
    Happy September FIRST!!!!

    1. Susie, My sisters have decorated for fall in August. LOL. I have nothing going on and from the looks of this hot weather. I do not think I will have the porch stained in time to do any decorating. I wish we had more businesses here in our little town...that is why I trade at Horton's, to help them stay a float. Blessing, xoxo,Susie
p.s. I have been wondering if you got your meds regulated .

  13. Looking forward to seeing all the Fall goodies at Horton's, Susie. I like the corn stalks. They remind me of my trip to Iowa. We saw rows and rows of corn stalks in the fields at grandma's farm.
