Sunday 's Adventure...

Sunday was a beautiful day here. Oh yes, it was briskly cool. Cold enough to wear a thick jacket. I think it only reached about 54 degrees.  Our clematis is covered with buds and some are blooming.
Had to show this pretty purple color. My mom's favorite.
Later in the evening , around 7:20, I drove to town to get some pictures.  You can see our courthouse from any direction. Our curb flower containers are empty till all the danger of cold nights or frost are gone.
This is the jail/sheriff's offices. I think many years ago, the sheriff actually lived in the big house part and the jailbirds, as we called them when young, stayed in the back. The jail has been added onto ...more people breaking laws. There's arguments  around town now for a newer jail facility.
Drove out by the park. I have always loved this old entrance. There will be flowers in the small arched areas soon.
I took a look at the city pool. There's been work going on there. The water has yet to be cleaned. But while I was looking at the pool and just enjoying being out, I noticed there were a small stack of lounging chairs by the dumpster. So I beat it to my daughter's house and tell her.  She had an old throw away from the pool before and her husband made it work for her.
So Angie and I come back with her husband's  truck and load up two of the chairs from the trash.  There's cracks in one seat panel, of all those chairs.  This can be a pinch problem for swimmers, thus being dangerous. I  know there's glues that mend plastic. So we will glue those seats and probably add duck tape and Angie's outdoor cushions. The whole time Angie and I are laughing and calling each other Sanford...then I just call her Lamont. It was a fun adventure for us.
On my way back home , I could see the corn starting to grow in the fields .  Some fields looked as if the corn was 6 inches tall. With all the rain we have had, I am not sure if our farmers are done with their fields or not.
The sun is shining this morning and the furnace has been on. It's  another chilly day. But the sun is shining. :):) Sending good wishes to all of you. XO

    1. Tessa, I think some of us(me) get ahead of ourselves for flowers and might plant too early. I did jump out of bed this morning praying "No frost". I lucked out. I love your little quote after your name...you are so fun. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. That clematis is just beautiful! Sanford and Lamont! That's just too funny! The weather is cool here, too. I love it! That's too bad that you have to think about expanding the jail because there are more people breaking the law. Would be nice if they could stay empty.

    1. Nonnie, I swear , sometimes we get to laughing so hard, I could wet myself. I do not think Angie's husband would have gone to get in the trash, like we did...that's why I helped her. It was fun for us and we just had the best laughs about it...especially when Angie drove thru the cemetery as a short cut. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Sylvia, I read in a gardening book..to plant the clematis in a low spot, low in the soil. This one here does well on the east side of the house. It's gets shade at times of the day. Not all sunshine. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I know Angie husband was probably mortified. at us. LOL. Those lounge chairs at the pool are a hundred dollars each...so if one can be saved it's still worth having. :) Blessings for Susie Sanford. 18. My goodness, the Purple clematis is so pretty. Oh, the corn fields brought back sweet memories. When we visited Iowa years ago, we could see rows and rows of corn fields when we arrived. It was such a sight! Have you ever been to Iowa, Susie? The nicest people you'll ever find. I'd love to see these corn fields in your town when they are fully grown. :)

    1. Sheri, Once my best friend and I went to the quad cities in Iowa. So many years ago. Our county is mostly corn and soy bean crops. My clematis is becoming covered in blooms. I will truly have to remember to get a shot of it when it's all bloomed out. Blessing, love, xoxo, Susie
