Things I Saw....

While at Horton's , I saw this cute little farm desk. It was in the farm section of the store....or it looks like a farm section. Pictures of animals, the" farm sweet farm "signs.:) I really like this paint finish , on the desk/chair.
In Tinkerhouse section. I do not know what to call this... it has a glass front, a display case ? cloche? It may have been a candle holder, the top looks vented.  I am going to call it charming.
In the front window was this Sweet Tea sign and one for fresh cut flowers. Embroidery hoops with lace.
I liked the nest with the ferns here.  The ferns are faux.
This moss covered frog statue would look great  in a sunroom,  or on a covered porch .
A rack of heavy duty tote bags. Very well made  Extra pockets  and a wide carrying strap..
I liked this one. It would be great for an ipad and books. Really rugged .  I think a young college girl would love this.  Hmmm or maybe a teacher.
Had to take our vehicles in for oil changes. Then I had to take my Jeep back for a complete replacement of the tail light socket and memory board.  Always something.
This past few days has been nice. Today we are to have rain and I am hoping it isn't much. I want to wish all of you a great Memorial weekend. I always think of this as the unofficial start of summer. Enjoy .XO

  2. That desk is simply precious!!! Looks like some of the children and grand children desks, my husband made, over the years. (But his, have a secret compartment in them... .-) )

And of course, he would strip the desk/chair down, and refinish it. :-) That's just how a woodworker thinks.

Oh the embroidery hoops with lace. How lovely.

Have a safe and lovely weekend!

    1. Tessa, That woodworking thing, I sure know about. Ted works with wood. That is one reason I could not paint the oak shelves he had made for the bathroom. Too nice to paint. That farm desk was cute, the chair had a little wear. I love that your husband made secret compartments in his desks. :) Blessings for a fun filled weekend. xoxo, Susie

    1. Nellie, Horton's is some local artist/craftmen...so higher than hobby-lobby, but not as high as big city shopping. I do not spend lots on anything but flowers. I feel that is my way of helping to keep a family store open in my hometown. :) You know I just knew you were probably the only teacher invited to that wedding. I am so proud of you for being in the young lady's life. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Linda, I have always asked for the old parts removed...but since my husband was with me, I felt I was being treated fairly. My Jeep is 13 years old. This shop has actually saved me money before...so I trust them... I know a mechanic that is honest is worth his weight in gold. I have been taken before at another shop...I do not go there any more. I surely know what you are saying...I think tricking happens more with young ladies too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Wonderful weather here. I wish I had someplace outdoors to go to. You can only sit on the front or back porch so many times. Nobodies home here but me. Arlene is working until 6. If you folks ever get up this way I would happily take you to dinner at Raso's. Fabulous Italian food and we're not talking spaghetti and meatballs here, though I love spaghetti and meatballs. Sorry I started to blog on your comment section.

Are the pieces you've shared from Hortons antiques or new? Just wondering. How I want to visit Hortons!

The weather here is crazy, I still have flowers to plant and although I have them out there in the rain, they don't so well in those little containers:(
