Farm Decor.......

These are pictures from the Horton's emporium/hardware store. :):) Nice cow head, wish I had touched this to get a sense of the material. It looks metal.
Hey, I am no farmer...this looks like a sheep head to me. I used to tell the fellows I worked with, that I want to be outstanding in my field, but I did not want to be a farmer. That's an electrician's job.
Lots of tea towels and signs. Notice the tarnished trays?  I need to get busy junking to get myself some of those. If I don't get myself some silver polish soon, all my good trays will be tarnished.
I like this metal cutout shaped like the states. Little magnetic hearts to hold notes and such.
More tea towels with farm animals on them. One is a chicken ,on a pig, on a cow...why? LOL..I truly do not know the meaning of this...do any of you ?
Today is going to be HOT. I have already watered the flowers and changed out the water in the bird baths.  Have to keep them clean , or empty, so no mosquitoes.  Stay cool and safe today my  friends.  XO

  1. A farmer I never was. I don't think I would like animal heads on my walls.

    1. I have seen a kind of paper mache reindeer before that would look cute at Christmas. But I am not one for animals head décor. LOL. Linda, Hope you and Bob are staying cool and loving some of your summer days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. I like going to Horton's on a gloomy day...it can cheer me. I do get some clever crafting ideas from there also. They are a great Christian family..so I trade there to help keep their business open. Old fashioned personal touch. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. I love the tea towels. Considering my kitchen is farm animal themed, these would be perfect. Wish I lived near there

    1. Carol, I was trying to go French country style before I moved here...this place is so old fashioned country, that is basically what I go with now. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Sheri, I love seeing their flowers and plants there. But I have to cut back on buying. So some times I go for the ideas of a craft or decorating scheme. They had a lot of farm ideas this year and that is about how this place is ...farm or plain décor. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  7. The first thought that crossed my mind with the animal tea towels was the fairy tale "The Bremen Town Musicians". But after thinking about it, I think those were different animals. At any rate, they are very cute. I don't know that I would want animal heads on my wall, though. As Nana Nor said it is lucky I don't live near Horton's. I'd be broke all the time.

    1. Kathy, Maybe that is the basis of the towel animals. You know how people change things up. I have to watch buying all the time...although I can get some looking in and come home with ideas. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. I can relate to most all you shared. I never knew there was any other life but the hard work on a farm until I had to go to school. However, we never had any head on the walls such as these.

    1. I know you must have worked hard too. The farm behind us had a bunch of kids and I know that father worked those kids like hired hands. My husband calls it "working someone like a borrowed mule. " LOL Being a town kid was no different if you had siblings and were poor. We always had chores and had to watch the little ones. I even gave my own children chores....nothing extreme compared to farming though. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Linda, I really hate to stay inside in summer...but with these temps we are not outside nearly as much. I still like to sit with my feet in the sun while my head is in the shade. LOL. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie

    1. LOL...I always ask the Horton's if I can take photos...they know I put them on my blog. I like to see all the cute , funny , and sincere saying on signs. Home made are very nice. My daughter has a sign that Emma made while visiting me. She has it in her bathroom. :) It says Sunflowers. :) Blessings, enjoy the weekend, xoxo, Susie

  12. The tea towels with animals on animals on animals.... Reminds me of something. ....... But what? LOL. A nursery rhyme maybe?

Oh my! I'll just blame my foggy memory, on the heat. Yes, that's it! The heat! >,-)

    Stay cool hugs,

  13. Tessa, There's so much knowledge out there in our blog family and Wikipedia. I could not stand it any longer and looked it up. Kathy,@ Looking at Life Through My Bifocals...said something about a fairy tale, then you said a nursery rhyme...so It is a story of a donkey, dog, cat and rooster that go to Bremen. It's never too late to learn ,thank you. The heat is enough to make everything foggy...it's been pea soup here a few mornings. Hope you are staying cool. I did sit out for half an hour...geech had to come in. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
