Sights & Chickens....

I love seeing these beautiful fields . They have cut the wheat already. I just love the golden color against  the sky. This is on the way to pick up Emma this past  Friday afternoon.
We drive thru some small towns that are what some call a bump in the road. I am glad they have a beautiful church here.
We get to Emma's and I have to see the chickens. This is Samson, the "boss" here in the pen. He looks so grand.
This chicken has feathers that hang down to it's feet. So strange.
I like this pretty pale gold hen.  Liz and Matt have many kinds, they know what they are, but I don't.
The pen is in  some trees and so they have sun and shade...not always in the heat of the sun.
Here's Samson giving me the old stink eye. I know he would tear me up if I went into the penned area.  As a child my neighbor's rooster used to chase me, and I hated that bird. Plus I was scared of him. LOL.
We have had Emma since Friday afternoon. I wish the girl didn't own a phone. She is glued to it. She did not want to craft. I did take her swimming with aunt Angie. We have watched some very good family movies. Brother Bear, one and two.  Went to DQ for lunch on Saturday.  Played with some little planes you assemble and fling with a rubber band shooter.
My neighbor lady trip on Saturday and called me. She had been weed whacking and tripped on the cord. I get to her house and break up some ice to make an ice pack for her nose. She had scraped her nose knee and her wrist hurt her. I thought she may have sprained her wrist and that her nose looked better after icing. I stayed with her till her family got home from church (Catholic Sat. evening services).
Yesterday my neighbor's DIL  called and said Nancy's nose was broken and her wrist was fine...shows you all what kind of nurse I was. LOL. heck I thought her nose was fine as it did not bleed from inside just the scrape. I thought her wrist was sprained  because she could not grip the water bottle I handed her.  She is doing well now. I will check on her today to see if she would like me to bring her any thing.
Have a great day. I will let all of you know about my daughter's  biopsy of the node in her lung soon.  XO

  1. Your poor neighbor, Susie. I hope she is not in too much pain. That was nice of you to come to her aid though.

Glad you have Emma. We have limited times Alana can use her cell phone. We set a time and then when the time is up she puts it on the charger and takes a break. Otherwise, she would be on it all the time, too.

I love going through those little towns. We have several of them around here, too.

Have a great week, Susie- xo Diana

    1. Diana, I felt so sorry for my neighbor. She was shook up I could tell. I keep talking with her to help keep her mind off the problems. Ted picked up her weed whacker and put it in the garage and swept her walk...then he had to get back with Emma...she was ready to watch Brother Bear. I could hardy sleep thinking about how quickly Nancy said it happened. I tried to get to see it could have been much worse, even though it's bad . My grand kids are way spooiled and not by me . LOL. I have to tell her put that phone on the charger it's time for bed. Plus I have to remind her to brush her teeth...She walks right out of her clothes and they are left on the floor..YIKES. I never let my girls do that ..so she has to pick up after herself. She'll be happy to see her other grammy tomorrow. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diane, Today my Karen went for the biopsy of a node in her lung. They hooked her an IV then the dr. comes in and say.."I am not doing the biopsy, I want another scan and then we will compare them I think the node has shrunk." MY daughter and SIL took off from work. Crazy. Thanks for the prayers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. You are a good soul and nurse. Broken noses are hard to detect without an x ray or good doctor check. Putting ice on it was a good call.
Your poor neighbor that had to hurt especially the next day. Glad you came to her aid. Love those chickens they are so fun. I wish I could have chickens. The fresh eggs would be so delish. Have a good week. Stay cool we are in for some hot and humid days.
    Hugs,

    1. I am so thankful that my neighbor didn't do worse damage. I know she was scared, it broke my heart. She was much better when her family got there. Her sister, and daughter has spent some time with her the past two days. Her son lives next door. My daughter's family loves having eggs any time they want them. They give them to other too.:) Yes, the AC is making me crazy running so much. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. Oh Susie, I'm so sorry to hear that your neighbor took a fall and broke her nose, that's awful. You know, when I younger and played on a baseball team, it was wet and rainy one day and the ball hit the ground and bounced at my face and I fractured my nose. I'll always remember that. Chickens fascinate me. That white chicken is a long drink of water. The picture of the wheat field is so pretty, Susie. Love that one.

    1. Sheri, You must know what my neighbor went thru. I thought if she kept it iced the swelling would not be as bad. I think she'll do fine, as she is always active in her yard. Hangs laundry out about every day, too. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  7. I like seeing the different kinds of chickens. I helped take care of grandma's chickens when I was little. They can be scary at times! Hoping to hear good news from the biopsy.

    1. Thank you Karen. When I was younger than the time the rooster chased me, I did not know a chicken could be mean. Always liked them. I am glad Emma gets to helps gather the eggs. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
