Country Life....

   If you are going to live in the country, you need a place to enjoy it. This morning things are calm , peaceful and sunny.  Yes, just like I love it.

  Checked the hydrangea...it's plenty big, but no flowers or even a hint of one. Hmmm?

  The foaming is no longer happening at the bird water feature. They like to drink from this.  I have some clover growing along the lattice, but I want to leave it for the bees.

   Hung the fern by the shop.  Have to get the step stool to water it though. :):)

  We got a new flag for our 4th this year. Some times I'll put a new hem at the end. Flags do a lot of waving out here in the country with the winds.

 Ahh...this year across the road is soybeans. I love to watch them in the breezes. It appears as green rolling waves. So peaceful. I sit on the porch and writes cards and letters to family and friends, just to enjoy being outside on these beautiful summer days.  I wish this for all of you.
  Teddy Bear and I had a wonderful day yesterday. A celebration of  Heath's  stepson Alex's graduation  from school. Alex is autistic...he did not care about why everyone was there.  He had his cartoons and music. A tall boy of over 6 foot, with childlike mannerisms. I want to say this young man has an artistic talent that is wonderful to see. He is totally obsessed with dinosaurs. Knows everything about them. Can draw them so well. It was a happy day for all.

My Left-Overs....

      Photos left over from my Friday visit to Horton's, when they had the French Flea Market. These signs are heafty, some are big as  2'x2'..Here's a cute one.

   Some old looking boxes and crates .

    With many different words stamped on them. One of these has what I call an instant relatives photos pinned to it. Do you ever wonder who these people were??
  Thought many of you would love to see some of the photos I took last Friday at the French Flea Market. Some times I just see things I think it's  cute and it's a picture.
  The weather here today is the perfect, low humidity and sunny skies. This is great  for our outing today. Hope all of you are loving your weekend. XO

Some Calm Time....

   I used to have to prettiest black eyed Susans....now I just have a couple plants left and they are not very  big. But I still love to see them.

 The tiger lilies are blooming.  They are such a pretty color.

  They are fairly tall also. so like tall plants they do not stand well in wind and rains.

   Tuesday evening's sunset.  As I took this I could see that part of my neighbor's apricot tree is without leaves. That's not a good sign.

  I like to get sunset photos thru the wispy greenery of the pines.

   Looking toward town over the bean fields....seems so far away.

 Some bad news about the little wren egg. I think it was an old one, as I peek at it , the egg was getting spotted and I saw an ant in the nest. There was a hole in the shell. So no new baby....I did think it was too late for new babies. I dumped the egg out and kept the nest. So tiny, it could fit in a teacup.
  Things seemed quiet yesterday and the storms came in and it was windy, rainy, and lightening too. Thankfully no hail.  I was even more thankful that we did not get heavy rains ...so no flooding.
   I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and helpful information concerning my daughter and that biopsy incident.  It is wonderful  to have so many good friends who care.  Bless you. XO

Crafting With Emma.....

    I finally got Emma to lay her phone down and join me in crafting. She got a polaroid camera for her birthday and has been taking some pictures. She needed an album for her photos. I had an old one , but it had a floral cover, that she transformed with pretty craft papers.  She loves it.

  She paired up pictures, as you could get two in each photo pocket. We kind of started two crafts at the same time. My goodness this girl can get glue from one end of the house to the other.:):)

  I had an old soft t-shirt to use for the next craft.  Kind of showed Emma while she was gluing.

   Cut the t-shirt material into long strips about  1 1/4 inches wide. Pull the ends till the material stretches and it will roll into it's self. Once it's a long rolled strip, tie knots every 3 inches or so.

  This is the finished look. Girls can wrap the large loop around their wrists many times.  You could add big beads possibly , between knots, or at the ends.  I got this idea from the bracelet I bought from Donna Jenkins' booth at the French Market, last Friday. I gave the one I bought and two I made to Savannah. Emma had two for herself.  A quick easy fun craft for kids.

   This is Izzy Bella, she belongs to Emma. When I took Emma home yesterday  this was one happy cat.

     You can see Emma loves  Izzy  right back.  Grandma Irene came to Emma's and picked her up  for a few days at her house.

  When I got back home I made this table  setting.  The table cloth is really a plastic one, I will smooth out all the wrinkles and bumps. I wish I had this on the table when Emma was gluing. I do like my plastic tablecloths with Emma and Ted around. Know what I mean .:):):)
    My daughter Karen and I talked yesterday. The dr. who was to do the biopsy warned her of the things that could happen when inserting a big needle into the lungs. He ordered an x-ray to pinpoint the area, after the x-ray he decided the node was smaller. Well, here's my complaint, why didn't he say all this, before the IV. So Karen will have a scan in 3 months to see if the node is indeed getting smaller. Karen was not happy , she just wants this over. So she will be getting the scan and that will be her new starting point.  Thanks to all of you that left comments you  helped me so much.
   We will be in for some nasty weather today and this evening, you know like this heat isn't enough. LOL.  Take care , be safe. XO

Biopsy ???

  This is my granddaughter Savannah and her mom(my daughter) Karen.  I have to tell you the latest of Karen's  medical mis-adventure. Karen decided to have a heart scan  that was offered at 49 dollars, especially since there's heart disease in our family. The heart was good, the scan also showed a node in one of her lungs. The "Doctor" wanted a dye scan of it. So she had that done, then they said she needed a biopsy.
 Monday morning Karen got admitted to the hospital. Gets hooked up to an IV. Then the doctor comes into her room and says , "I am not going to do the biopsy on such a small node, you need another scan."
  Karen and her husband took off from work for this procedure . The IV was hooked up. What kind of doctor would do this to people. I can not help being up-set. My daughter will have to pay for all that hospital time and missed work too. The doctor said he wants to compared the scans. Why did he not do that from the  start.? So she will have another scan...then go from there. I would be looking for a new doctor.  Grrr.
   Taking Emma to her other grandmothers for a few days visit . We did get around to a couple crafts. I'll show those later. Wishing all of you a fine day. XO

Sights & Chickens....

   I love seeing these beautiful fields . They have cut the wheat already. I just love the golden color against  the sky. This is on the way to pick up Emma this past  Friday afternoon.

   We drive thru some small towns that are what some call a bump in the road. I am glad they have a beautiful church here.

   We get to Emma's and I have to see the chickens. This is Samson, the "boss" here in the pen. He looks so grand.

   This chicken has feathers that hang down to it's feet. So strange.

   I like this pretty pale gold hen.  Liz and Matt have many kinds, they know what they are, but I don't.

   The pen is in  some trees and so they have sun and shade...not always in the heat of the sun.

  Here's Samson giving me the old stink eye. I know he would tear me up if I went into the penned area.  As a child my neighbor's rooster used to chase me, and I hated that bird. Plus I was scared of him. LOL.
  We have had Emma since Friday afternoon. I wish the girl didn't own a phone. She is glued to it. She did not want to craft. I did take her swimming with aunt Angie. We have watched some very good family movies. Brother Bear, one and two.  Went to DQ for lunch on Saturday.  Played with some little planes you assemble and fling with a rubber band shooter.
  My neighbor lady trip on Saturday and called me. She had been weed whacking and tripped on the cord. I get to her house and break up some ice to make an ice pack for her nose. She had scraped her nose knee and her wrist hurt her. I thought she may have sprained her wrist and that her nose looked better after icing. I stayed with her till her family got home from church (Catholic Sat. evening services).
  Yesterday my neighbor's DIL  called and said Nancy's nose was broken and her wrist was fine...shows you all what kind of nurse I was. LOL. heck I thought her nose was fine as it did not bleed from inside just the scrape. I thought her wrist was sprained  because she could not grip the water bottle I handed her.  She is doing well now. I will check on her today to see if she would like me to bring her any thing.

Pictures & Purchases.....

    More pictures of the French Market . These are all from Friday, as I did not get to go back on Saturday. Too many things happening.

    I bought another garden flag. This can go from late summer into autumn. Old red truck with daisies, apples and a puppy.

   I love these towels. I use them as table toppers. they measure 30"x 30" .  I just center them over my table clothes. This was such a cute design for summer.

   Bought a ceramic ornament....in our hometown's honor of it's  200th year celebration.

   A little book on the history of General John Tipton, for whom our county and town were named.

   Bought a little bracelet that was made by Donna Jenkins.

  Here's Donna stretching to hang a banner of her she-shed Tinkerhouse at her booth. She wears some of the cutest things.

  Lots of unusual pottery items here. I did love this big urn, but had no place for it  at our house.

  This is the same booth. Many different colors of furnishings. Sort Parisian apartment styles.

  This booth was lots of white , potted greenery , and metal pieces.

  This is a closer look at some of the religious statues and sacred hearts. Their prices were very low.

  I liked this big directional metal piece. I do not know what they are calling these. But it looks good in the aqua color, on the brick wall.

   Here's where I bought the towel . I should have bought the little pail to go with it, now that I am looking at it. There were spray scents for your home .

 I liked seeing how things are put together. This looked like it may have been  a lower kitchen cabinet with tin ceiling tiles attached to the doors. A shabby chic look. Cute shelf sitting on top. I have a few more pictures I'll post this week.
   I ended up watching Emma for a few days. So I did not ask her if she'd like to go to Horton's...knowing it was not her thing.  So we have been talking, watching some fun movies.  Papaw and I took her to dairy queen for a lunch yesterday. She enjoyed that. Might have to make some crafts while she is here.
