What I Bought At The Market.....

I bought these burlap leaves at the Horton's Artisan Market.  I wish I had bought more.
This is the rest of the things I brought home.  Hinged shutters, a yearbook, plant, pumpkins, gourds and fake acorns. A chicken cutout.
These acorns are as big as a lime...but fake and can be used over and over..if I remember where I put them away after the fall season.:):)
This old yearbook had pictures of my big brothers. We never bought yearbooks growing up, never enough money for those things.  Also found my daughter's in-laws' senior pictures.
Tomorrow, I will post how I used all these things on the porch.Well not the book LOL. Hope your day is a great one. It's cloudy here  , hopefully no rain till around Thursday.   The farmers are harvesting corn and soybeans here.  XO

More Artisan Market Photos....

Here is a table and it came with four chairs....all redone. Soup mixes and spices in the cupboard.
I adore this old farm kitchen sink. It is loaded with fake veggies and some melmac dishes. Do you see the old lamp shade remade into a chandy? That is so cute..Also some graters made into hanging lights.
I laughed when I saw the pumpkin pie recipe on the big pumpkin. I call this the kitchen corner at Horton's.
This was a lush table setting. An old garden bench with pillows. The chairs had boxwood wreaths on their backs. I think there was every kind of garland in every corner.
This booth was just starting to set up their displays. But I loved the jack-o-lanterns and had to get a shot . They looked as if they were made of paper mache and covered in pages from an old book. Cute little red folding chair. Hope you haven't grown tired of all the pictures.
Today is to be another wonderfully pleasant autumn day. I have a few running chores, then I am going to do a bit of decorating.  Hope your day is filled with sunshine. XO

An Autumn Artisan Market.......

This is the side entrance to Horton's hardware/greenhouse/emporium.  Loving that tall ladder loaded with white pumpkins.  The old wash tubs have a display of plaid thermoses and picnic items.
There's plenty of pumpkins and gourds. Many large mum plants, and every kind of container you could ever need.
At this corner , it is always a seasonal decoration.  Almost too much to see. There's sits that old brown truck. I love that it is used in displays.
Soaps, candles, leaf and floral arrangements. Crates, tables, drawers, and garlands.
I really like all this black and white. The towels had ruffles , so sweet. I did check the price on the old typewriter., more than I wanted to pay , but I'll stalk it. LOL
This was a one day affair and it was busy. The weather was perfect. There were inside and outside venders. I am sure they loved the weather being as pleasant as it was.
I'll post more tomorrow. Then I will show what I bought later. Hope all of you had a great Saturday . XO

Foggy Morning.....

I took these photos this morning. Took an eon to load , find and post. YIKES !!
If you took picture upwards you did not have the fog in the way. You can see it above the corn , behind these oak trees. It was beautiful this morning.

This is a ground level shot. I took this through the fog filter.:):)  I wanted you to see all the leaves that fell over night, from the neighbor's apricot tree.  We have some color back in the woods. It is just starting to change.
Going into Horton's later today, so I better get ready. Hope your Saturday is a fun day. XO

It Is Autumn....

My mums have gone crazy. They are pretty but so tall they fall over when watered.
This is last years mantle display.  I'll show this years some time soon. I have been working on some décor around here. Inside and out.  I like for our porch to be decorated and need to get a couple nice plants to complete it. Maybe a pumpkin or two. I never make Jack-o-lanterns, that way the pumpkins can be for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
There are many festivals going on at this time of year.  We have the Earth Day Festival in the little town south of  here. Also you know Horton's is having their Autumn Market this weekend. That is where I am going today. Got to look around. Might get my plants there today.
Hope all of you have a wonderful, enjoyable weekend. XO

Fun Day With Gal Pals...

Today I went to brunch with 10 other ladies. This photo is from last month.  I am the 3rd from the left, back row. I look almost tall compared to a couple short ones in front. :):)  Today the tallest girl in our class came to town. I think Holly is 5'11" . So we all looked short beside her. :):)
I have to say today was a much better day than I have had in a few days. ...less stress.  I was happy to see my friends and share some stories. You know those stories from the good old days. Plus the horror stories of  our ailments. Yikes, all of a sudden I did not even want to think of any pains or problems. You know how that goes. We think we have troubles till we hear others' woes.
I think I need to go back to counting my blessings. I know that I am blessed, with loving family and friends. Then there's my blog family too.  XO

Still Pecking Away....

These are a few of the sky pictures I have taken in the past 3 weeks. I got them loaded on the computer...Oh boy, you would not believe how I got them to post though. One day I will show you a new picture of me . Don't laugh when you see how bald I am getting.
I call it hair pulling frustration.  The older I get the less patience I seem to have.
I think it's because I feel my time is running out, in the big scheme of things. Oh to be as strong as I was in my 30's and 40's. I was much healthier, weighed less, still had some hormones. LOL. I felt I could tackle any thing.  Now I do not want to listen to double talk, promises, or what that person is gonna do for me. Keep it simple. LOL That's my new desire. I used to say if you want anything done right, you better learn to do it yourself. This is where the strength comes in. I tucker out quicker and need a fire under my butt to get going at times.
I am sorry I have whined on and on.Thank you dear friends, for your understanding and support.  I truly appreciate you. All of you.
So I am hoping for us to have a great day.  XO

This Morning....

Took the computer in and had the manager of the shop see what all would not work since they worked on it. I swear I think he just tried to send me a bill....that better not be a bill it better be an offer of a yearly fee of 200 per unit..... That is not happening.  I do not want any more of their services.
I tried to show what it would not do on my blog site. He just kept going at it....proving even he had problems with it . What the heck....I did not have those problems before taking our computer into that shop.
How would someone even think to justify charging to clean up an error they made. I am not happy.  I will not be needing any more service from there.
We live and learn, I guess.  Hope your day is better than mine. xo

Had A Great Weekend...

Emma and I had a good time  this weekend.  She made rubber band bracelets. But mainly played on her phone....she has a building game on it . She and I watched some Cinderella movies. Read and drew pictures. Had brunch at aunt Angie's house. Emma took a short walk with her aunt Angie, while I stayed behind and looked at magazines.
My foot has been hurting since my trip to Utah. Too many inclines and stairs...Did not see much flat land where we were.
Liz and Matt came to pick Emma up yesterday. Emma teared up , saying she will miss me....it broke my heart. I have missed her today.  Some times grandkids are a handful, but we love being with them.
Tomorrow is my big day at the computer shop...oh boy, I am nervous about it...but I need to get this computer where I can use it , or it's an expensive doorstop.
Hope all of you are doing well. XO

Dried Hydrangeas....

I dried some of my hydrangeas and put them in  some old white pitchers. I love the way they look together. Have not had much craft time for myself lately. With Emma here this weekend, we surely will make some thing fun.
I had a great day at her school yesterday.  At the book fair she bought a "spy kit", so I will have to be careful what I say. LOL.  She's too funny at times.
Her face lit up when her other grandmother, Papaw Ted and I walked into her room together. I will have to remember that face. It was also Grandma Irene's last day at school too. I thought she had a grandson younger than Emma, but he is one year older.  Irene's son Matt is my SIL. He is Emma's dad. Well it turns out that Emma's teacher was also her dad's teacher in 5th grade.  She looked too young .:):) Mrs. Miller said she was fresh out of college then. This is her 29th year teaching. Many kudos to her.
Well I am going to get busy here. I will post , once I can load my photos, anew.  Bless all of you for a great weekend.

Grandparent's Day....

Today is grandparents day for Emma Pooh . This is our last one. Emma being ten, next year will be in the 6th grade and that is the cut off grade. Where did all the years go with Sierra, Jake, Lynzie, Brock,Skylar and Savannah??All the crafty art things we made, all those "what was life like in the Stone Age, Nana?" question pages.
This is the last pictures I have taken of Emma and that was June at her sister's wedding. I better have my camera ready today. Emma will come home with papaw and I today.  Aunt Pam will be here to greet her.:)
I am still struggling with my blog and files. Next Tuesday is the day the repairman will undo some of the things he did to my computer...that has made it so confusing.
Sending out good wishes for all of you, and prayers for our friends in need. XO

Some Progress....

Well I found some of my photo files, because they are not all together now.... The phone man came today and found some disturbances in our lines. Oh great day. He took care of that. Next Tuesday, I am hauling my computer tower into the repairman and I refuse to pay for anything that they did to slow my blog and mess my files up.  Because as bad as windows 8 is, I was finding my way around . Now it's like a big maze.  So I am trying to find my place again. xo

Computer Crazy....

Can't even access photo area, let alone post photos.  I wish I had never had this computer worked on....ever feel that way?  I have to wait so long in between  looking at blogs, that I can't even leave a comment. I am just whining...to you my friends who will listen.
As soon as I can get things straightened out, I'll be back. I miss all of you. XO

Irises.....

Today it has been 8 years since my mother passed away. I still miss her.  She did not have an easy life. She gave birth to eleven children. Yes, she ruled the household. She made us show respect to elders and teachers. We were not allowed to run the streets.
Some times mom  was funny. She would say , when asked if we could have friends over, "you don't need friends, you have your siblings. "  The older kids helped by watching the younger ones. That was not always easy.
Mom didn't have much education, thank God she had some street sense.  She worked for the K-mart stores. She worked hard at other jobs too. But the K-mart was where she retired from.
Mom loved all of us and our children. She loved traveling, shopping goodwill stores, and going to festivals. She loved every kind of flowering tree and plant. But her favorites were lilacs and irises.
I think the reason was because that was what was blooming in the yard when she moved into the little house on the corner. That was the first flowers I can remember her having. This picture is one I painted for mom one Christmas.
I miss my mother so much. If you can hug your mom today, hug her for me.  XO

Reading....

These are the books at the junk store. I have a lot of books, even though I have slowly thinned some out. I used to read all the time. The past few years , I have become a scanner, not reader. I go through a book and try to glean enough to make me feel as though i have read the book.
Well last week, I read a whole book. The whole thing. I made myself read it. It was not so good. I won't say the title or author's name. I thought it was by another author that I had read before. But it wasn't . The thing is , I stay with it till it was read. So I proved to myself that I can still read a book.
So I am going to be reading this winter . Get yourself a book and start reading. I know Nellie reads all the time :):)
Hope your day is great. I have running to do.  My trip time is so close.  XO

Come And Gone.......

Well the pork festival has come and gone...and I did not even go . This is the 1st year in , I do not know how long, that I never went. I usually meet my daughter Angie there on Friday. But this year she had taken the days for next weeks wedding and could not take Friday off.
The top photo are pins I have worn to the fest before. This is last years T-shirt. Things change, it almost seems sad. I remember when my daughters , grandkids, and I  would  watch the parade , sitting on a friend 's lawn. Our friend's kids would sell water and sodas. LOL. It always was a fun time.
Hope everyone has a great day . XO

Day Out....

This is the golf course, from the park side of the creek.   It has looked so pretty out there this summer. I love thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have a big lawn like that. LOL
This is the creek flowing through our park. It can flood when we have monsoon rains. The park dept. has been cleaning the creek of debris . Old fencing, chunks of concrete, and tree limbs.  The trees will be turning soon. I love to go to our park any season.
Yesterday was my 4th time on the phone with the phone company, they are our internet carrier. I had to call the repairmen of this computer again...something they did would not let us stay linked in ...of curse each group blames the other. One time, I just sat and cried on the phone . .  I had to apologize to the phone man. He was kind and the best one I have had contact with through these past 4 days. He said I should come to them first about my computer problems...because I have that service. Well just kill me now !!  Here I paid 200 dollars for the repairs, from the computer company....plus now I  owe them 45 dollars for them getting me back on line ...why??? I feel like I am paying them to repair  some thing they did wrong. I had access to things before that I can not do now... I could load my photos to my files and now I can not. I am not liking this at all.  This computer is starting to cost twice as much with all the other things being done. I had to order a new modem that will cost 2 dollars a month for life. :( Big bummer )
I sure hope all of you are doing better than I am this weekend.    Thanks for letting me whine. :):) XO

A Wedding Is Around The Corner......

This is my handsome grandson Korey and his beautiful bride to be.  These two have a lot going on in their careers and doing well. I pray for them all the time. They will never treat you like your an old fuddy-duddy with nothing important to say. I love the way they respect their families, young and old.
This is one of the pictures of them in Utah.  They both love nature,  I think they hike and bike lots.
Korey loves to  take wonderful photos of their hiking experiences. He also loves to cook. That will be a plus for Ashley.
I will be going to Utah soon for the wedding. All my daughters will be with me. Of course Kathy is Korey's mom. :):) I can't wait to hug these great kids.
Today, I bought a new pair of "flats"....to wear to the wedding. LOL  Oh how I miss those wonderful high heel days.
This morning was another day with our internet carrier....GAAAA. This time helped more than the last two days. But I think I am going to have to talk with the repair people again also.  I don't know how they think this is easier. IT IS NOT !!!

Fading....

These little carpet roses are fading away quickly. I still love to see them.  I feel like I am fading at times myself. LOL.... I have been on the phone with our carrier service and it's maddening. New and more passwords and losing my will to even own a computer .
I am calling our company again this afternoon and ask for a new modum.  They are not going to like it as they think we should do our own phone lines inside the house. Well after checking everything , the modum is still blinking most times when I try to use the computer.
If you do not hear from me for a while it's because I am off line with all these repairs.  I will miss all of you. XO

Festifal Time.....

HI everyone, I am back. Been gone due to the computer being in the shop.  A company here in town worked on it. I am not crazy about, where are my photos and why can't I find them with more ease... Well you know how it goes. Fix one thing and get more woes.  :(:(
I want to thank everyone about their concerns for me from my last post , when I mentioned the Dr. visits. I have decided to just go along with this new dr. As she has a degree in pharmacy also. So she knows meds very well.  I have been well and doing fine without the blood thinners. Wish me luck when I fly out next week for Salt Lake City.
This is an old picture from the Pork Festival. It's that time of year again. The tents are set up in the main streets of town. Ted and I may go for lunch tomorrow. There will be a mini parade tonight and a big parade on Saturday. Arts, crafts, foods, venders, and entertainment. If I go I will get pictures.
Hope all of you are well and that you missed me a bit. LOL.
