I dried some of my hydrangeas and put them in some old white pitchers. I love the way they look together. Have not had much craft time for myself lately. With Emma here this weekend, we surely will make some thing fun.
I had a great day at her school yesterday. At the book fair she bought a "spy kit", so I will have to be careful what I say. LOL. She's too funny at times.
Her face lit up when her other grandmother, Papaw Ted and I walked into her room together. I will have to remember that face. It was also Grandma Irene's last day at school too. I thought she had a grandson younger than Emma, but he is one year older. Irene's son Matt is my SIL. He is Emma's dad. Well it turns out that Emma's teacher was also her dad's teacher in 5th grade. She looked too young .:):) Mrs. Miller said she was fresh out of college then. This is her 29th year teaching. Many kudos to her.
Well I am going to get busy here. I will post , once I can load my photos, anew. Bless all of you for a great weekend.
Yes-Those faces are ones you want to remember forever, Susie. How neat to have a teacher that is generational.
ReplyDeleteThose kids grow up way too fast!!! xo Diana
Diana, My daughter just this year taught a student that she had taught his father when she was a student teacher. She said , "mom, I am getting old" LOL.
DeleteYou know about fast growing with your little grands too. xoxo,Susie
I can just imagine Emma's face filled with delight that you guys were there. Wishing you two a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Hope your day is a fine one. Emma has said let's go to the $ store. And she wants DQ for lunch. Hey, right up my alley. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a special time this was for Emma! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, We just returned from the DQ ..had aquick lunch and a bit of looking and shopping at the dollar store. I may be sporting a new bracelet made of those little rubber bands. LOL. xoxo,Susie
Deletewhat wonderful coincidence that she has the same teacher! You certainly are lucky to share these wonderful moments, you dried bouquets look perfect in the white jugs, I love it! have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laurie. I am glad Emma has this teacher. The year her mommy went through breast cancer/chemo..she had a mean teacher...who showed no compassion when Emma was confused. It totally broke my heart. You don't dare say anything for fear they will treat the child worse. Blessings. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a wonderful time! Love the 'history' of the teacher!! Your dried flowers are gorgeous! Can't wait to see the pics!!!
ReplyDeleteYou and Emma have fun!!! Of COURSE you WILL!!!
Linda, we ate lunch at DQ, a trip to the dollar store..now she is making rubber band bracelets. I bet I get one.LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteLove those Hydrangeas in the white pitchers! Oh, to surprise the young ones at school!! Those teachers always seem to look so young! We live in a different age don't we?
ReplyDeleteBlessings to your day,
Gert
Hi Gert. I am so old now, I call them all kids. LOL. Mrs. Miller is a good teacher..so thankful for that. xoxo,Susie
DeleteMy sister's first grade teacher was also my mom's first grade teacher. She tried to get me into her class, but it was full. Everyone wanted Miss Davis. How cool that this is happening in your family also.
ReplyDeleteThe dried hydrangeas are lovely. I have never tried to dry any. I think it must be difficult. Mine would probably just die.
Kathy, I had a social studies teacher right out of college and all my daughters had him as they went through high school. We love that guy. I just picked the hydrangeas and let them dry in the vase...it worked for me. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSchool was so long ago.
ReplyDeleteThere are times I wish I had grandkids. Then there are times...
Boston Boy, The more people we love the more it hurts at times. I love my grandkids to pieces, but watching them grow and take on life breaks my heart for them. I see some opf them struggle to do better at just getting an apartment and keep a car running. Well you know, LOL just like we did ourselves. xoxo,Susie
DeletePerfect pairing of the Hydrangeas and old pitchers Susie, I love it! lol, you have a little spy in your home. When I was young I loved reading Nancy Drew.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Jann, Emma has made bracelets and worked on her building roller coasters on her phone..one of those wacky games. I think she has forgotten the Spy thing. :):) Maybe we spy tomorrow. I also loved nancy drew. xoxo,Susie
DeleteI am glad you had some to dry. All of mine froze and did not bloom. They are pretty in your picture.
ReplyDeleteOlive, when we had a frost in spring...i too thought oh boy that's hurt most of my flowers, but some made and did well. Maybe next year will be much better. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh, what a fun time. I am sure she will remember it forever. If I had grandkids, I would have so much fun going. We used to go eat lunch with Craig once a year in grade school and had so much fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteTete, They used to serve lunch to the grandparents..now it's ice cream.:) I remember my girls eating lunch for a $1.65 a week. Totally amazing. Now almost all eat for free. We used to have to run home and then run back to school at lunch. Had to do what we had to do to survive. I miss it all. LOL xoxo,Susie
DeleteThis is a cute post, Susie! My daughter is just 23 and teaching kids just five years younger than her! She does command respect though, even from me! :)
ReplyDeleteJane
Blondie, So glad your daughter gets respect, there's not enough for teachers at times. I loved most of my teachers through out school. My daughter Angie teaches 5th grade . xoxo,Susie
DeleteSo wonderful to capture those faces in our hearts and memories. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time for Emma. How sweet and I know that face well. It melts your heart. So special.
