This is how it was snowing yesterday around noon hour. Snowed like crazy for a couple hours.
Later in the day this is all that was left of our snow. :):) The sun came out and melted it very fast.
This is the beautiful sunset. I love take photos of the sunsets. I do not get as much of the sunrises, woods on both sides of the road toward to east. I have been getting out to walk up and down the road, just for some fresh air and exercise. You will be happy to know, I am sorting through my closets. I can't begin to tell you what a relief it is to rid myself of things I really don't need. I need to clear our every drawer in this house. So what if I throw away something I may need...I'll just go junking and get another. LOL. Have some fun today. xo

Stamping....
Here's my new stamps from the trip to hobby-lobby yesterday. After Ted and I had our valetine's day lunch together, we went to the hobby-lobby. I found these stamps on sale. I wasn't looking for this one exactly, but hey on SALE. :):)
This morning, I started stamping some cards for my sister's birthday gift. Her birthday is in March. I'll be ready. Ted made this nice little carrier, so I stamped it too. I'll tie these cards up with a bit of bias ribbon.
Today is going to be a winter day....so I may have to find a few more things to do. Because I have the laundry caught up....who wears all these clothes. I can almost see the appeal of a nudist colony, no laundry. LOL..... can't stop laughing. xo

Happy Valetine's Day......
I am not thinking of chocolates today. It is going to be 50 degrees here today , very spring like. So I am thinking of flowers. These are some of the hanging pots from last year,at Shipshewana, Indiana. I am planning on going there as soon as they open the outdoor market. It is open from April to October. I will buy some plants and flowers, to get my gardens started.
Going to lunch today with my best beau, Teddy Bear. That's his Valetine's treat to me. Oh yea..I don't have to do the cooking and cleaning.:):) I hope all of you get something nice today, hugs, kisses, cards, chocolates, or maybe flowers. xoxo

Sunshine From Florida....
Look at this sweet postcard I received form Diane. Diane has the blog "Lavender Dreams". She sent me some Florida sunshine to cheer me up. If you need a lift in your spirits, go visit Diane at Lavender Dreams.
This card makes me remember all the times I used to go to Florida. I went to Daytona Beach every year for 20 years. Always in February .....that is when we need a break in our winter routine.
If we get nasty weather today, I am going to sit and look at this card and dream I am at the beach. :):) Thank you Diane. xoxo

No Bird Watching Here....
There is a hawk around our neighborhood. So we have not seen many of our pretty birds. You may be able to see the starlings in this tree. I really don't like them. They are nasty and can't sing worth a darn. They must be able to hold their own with the hawk. We have kept birdseed out all winter. Even the doves have not been around here for some time. Hope all of you can view your lovely birds. xo

Sunday Ramblings....
Which is different from M-T-W-T-F, and Saturday ramblings....well a bit. This is a photo of one of our little walkways, made from bricks that were made in Kokomo, Indiana. The town just north of us. We bought a huge amount of these bricks , made sidewalks at the house in town. I didn't think others would appreciate the old brick walks, so we took them up and brought them to this farm. I have handled these bricks so much, I feel as if I know each one personally. LOL. We made a patio with them , and a walkway around our little pond. Now this year, I want to take the patio bricks and make a little brick area around the steps of the porch. I was also hoping to turn the patio into a green house/shed , maybe having a gravel floor. We bought old windows to use for it last Spring. If it gets done this year, I'll have pictures.
When laying these bricks, we dig out the area, about 8 inches or more deep. lay in a layer of sand, tamp it down, then lay on the bricks. Throw sand on top of it and work down in between the bricks with a broom, water that down and add more sand. Keep doing the sand thing till you can no longer add any. Moss has grown in between our bricks, I like the looks of that.. :):)
Hope the northeast gets dug out and their power back on. It's scary for all those people. Let's keep them in our thoughts and prayers. xo

Winter Tools....
Here are my tools of the season. Big snow shovel and beat up old broom. I have not had to use them for a while. Happy about that. I see where the northeast is digging out...they will be digging for some time. So sad they have been having such weather woes for so long. Last night, on the news , they have lost power in places already. That would be the worse thing, what could you do, you can't get out to go anywhere....and where would you go? We are having sunshine once again . that is 4 days this week.
Ted Bear and I went to breakfast with some of our old co-workers. I was the only female there. I tell them bring your wives. I used to work with all these fellows. Some were and are gentlemen ...some , well just not so nice at times. Some have changed, since work isn't involved. Some have changed because they are older now. But all in all , it was a fun get together. Monday I'll be meeting up with my classmates for brunch. Sounds like I am busy. I have to say though, just getting out and being with others is helping with my winter blues. :):)

Good-bye To A Dear Lady......
Yesterday, we attended the funeral of a sweet lady. She was a beauty. Loved being dressed up and having her hair just so. We used to live across the street from Helen , when we lived in town. She and her husband have been married over 45 years. He was her care giver for the past two years. She has been on oxygen for those two years. I really never knew what was wrong. I know she just one day could not breathe, went to the hospital and then onto oxygen. I do know she smoked. So maybe that lead to the problem.
I loved these neighbors. You always knew they loved each other. Never any harsh words between them, that I ever heard. They were a joy to meet out anywhere. Or just stand at the edge of our yard and have a conversation. I have stayed in touch with them since we moved, by sending cards and notes. I know that Helen's husband will be fine, as he will spend time with his son and g.daughters. I will still send cards, because Leroy's sister ask me to please remember him.
Have you ever had neighbor's you truly adored? Believe me Helen and Leroy are absolutely the kind of neighbor's that we all want. Kind to their family and everyone they met. I will miss Helen.
Let's keep those in the path of the fierce winter storm in our prayers. Enjoy this day. xo

Blue Skies....
Oh yeah....loving these blue skies and the sunshine. Good thing it's still cold, or I would be trying to dig around in the flowerbeds. LOL. We are in for some rain/snow mix this evening. I do not want what the northeast is going to be getting . As a matter of fact, I am praying for all the people there. Hope they keep their power. One to two feet of snow, that is more than I want to see in two years.
Thanks to all of you who let me know, I am not alone in my Walmart complaints. I do shop local when I can. I had gone to lunch yesterday in Kokomo. Met up with my daughter Karen. We thought since we were out we'd just go to Walmart to get some things. Lesson learned !!!
I would like to hear from some of you about what you do to motivate yourselves. I am beginning to feel like a sloth. At this moment, if I jumped on a turtle's back , I would say ,"wheeee" The turtle would say, "one at a time, please." :):)

Room To Scream.....
Give me some room to let it all out. I went to Walmart today. There's the clue. Four check outs open. Backed up. They have those self checkouts, I do not like them. Now I know why. You can't touch the bags till you are done putting things in them, you can not put the bags in the cart, till you are totally done. How could you get a bunch of groceries on the space at the end...it is so small.?? I feel that if I check myself out,bag my own things, then I should get a discount at the end.....after all I just saved them from hiring more clerks. They don't pay their employees very well and they don't want to hire enough. They want your money, but they aren't willing to give you service. I think I'll find a new place to shop for food. We have a grocery here in town...they are very high on many things we get cheaper at Walmart. But the aggravation. Well thank you for letting me get that off my chest. :):)

Stain Glass....
This oval glass is one of three. They used to be in the old library, here in Tipton. Thankfully someone had the foresight to save them when the old library was torn down. They now hang in the new library as art. This one is at the front entrance. I also like the leaded glass, it may have been in the old library, I just don't know for sure. There was a stuffed black bear in the children's reading one, I think he is now in the little museum part of the courthouse. Which you can see here, through the window. I haven't been to the library for some time now. I think it was November, my last trip there. So I really would love a trip to town soon. Hope all of you are doing fine and staying healthy. xo

I just like to get out more in the fresh air. Ted is headed out to Rockler's , so I'll have some time to myself...oh happy day. LOL Love that man , but honestly, I need some time for me. So I am going to trim my hair, do my nails, and have another cup of coffee. :):) Maybe work on making cards. Let's remember our friends with prayer. have a bit of fun also. xo

Mom's Birthday....
Today would have been my mother's birthday . I sure miss her . She passed away in 2006. But some days it seems like yesterday.
My mother passed away after having surgery on colon cancer. It was a small spot, that needed to be removed. She did very well, woke from the surgery, talked, but was sleepy. But in the night she fell so deep asleep, her kidneys shut down, then it was just one thing after another.
Mom had 11 children....10 surgeries from an auto accident....open heart surgery for a quadtriple bypass,...surgery for a brain aneurism.....So you can see where we thought our mother was superwoman. Never dreamed we would ever be without her. I ask all of you today who still have your mothers, hug her for me. xoxo

Faith, You Gotta Have Faith....
I have been trying to make a post today. Went looking for a photo to bring up and could not find my files. So I have been in nooks and crannies that I know nothing about. Then I found my picture files quite by accident. Because as you all know I do not know computers and am lucky to be able to post and write emails. Some one keeps trying my patience.....well I DON'T HAVE ANY !!!!!
We are plenty cold here. The sun is shining on and off today and that is a big plus. I hope all of you out there in blogland have a great weekend. xo
