My Sunday Afternoon......

Sunday was one of those heavenly days...quiet and pleasant weather. I sat out on the porch and wrote letters and cards.  First I put on the Carpenters CD, open the window so I can hear it playing softly. Get a soda and a fly swatter. LOL
Yes, I sent Emma Pooh a card and my sister, then wrote my daughter a letter.  I usually use these legal pads when writing letters to my sister. Easier on her eyes and mine  when outside. :):)
The pond by the  shop was running and I could hear it also.  I sat out for a couple hours. I enjoy that time so much.
Now Monday was a lot of running. Went to get my new glasses, as they were in and I love them. Paid my auto insurance . Then over to speak  with the financial people. Got hugs there as my nieces works for them.
Ted went to Woodcrafts to pick up boxes of sand paper. Once he got home , it was off to Kokomo . We went to the AT&T store to see if they could help us with my tablet, as that is where Ted got it for "free" when he got his new phone. Lots of talk there, no action. They could not help us load our email account.  They are geeks, what kind of chance do I have. LOL Said thank you and goodbye.
Then it was off to Steak and Shake for lunch. Wow, it tasted so good. Been awhile since we have had hamburgers. After lunch a quick stop at Lowe's for furnace filters.  That's a relief to me.
Now I want to ask any of you, can you please explain to me this phenomenon. At least that is what I am going to call it. The spider webs, totally everywhere. So thick on the fields and grass that it reflected back the sun as it was starting to set.  On the power lines, signs, trees, I mean absolutely everything.  I told my daughter if a spider made each one then we have spiders to infinity and beyond.  Yikes !!!!
 Enjoy this glorious day. XO

  5. Sounds so nice. Nothing like a relaxing evening on the porch. We're not having any problems with spider webs now but back earlier on around August I couldn't get to the clothesline in the mornings they were so bad .. Hope you have a nice rest of the week. Hugs, xo

    1. Susie, I want to clean the leaves in our back yard up before it rains...but I do not want to be out there with a million little flying spiders, floating around on those webs. But we will have to rake this Thursday as it is to rain on Friday. Blessings to you, hope you are loving your weather too. xoxo,Susie

  6. Wolw- you got lots done- lots of running but it is nice you had a down day on Sunday and wrote letters, etc.

Someone else posted on their blog about the spiders this year---that they had completely covered a field with webs and it looked like a blanket over it. How weird is that. It kind of freaked me out. xo Diana

  7. sounds like a perfect day for you. Our weather is gorgeous now also. That freaks me out about the spiders. I was at my sister's a few weeks ago and grasshoppers were everywhere. The windows at the restaurant we ate at were covered with them. When you walked on the sidewalk they just crunched under your feet. You couldn't not step on them. Strange?????

    1. Oh Judy, I don't know which is worse grasshoppers or spiders...the spider could not be seen just the webs..but what else could make the webs? then the grasshoppers could easily jump on you. Ewweee..I am so creeped out. Then when you said you cruched them on the walks. OMG. There's too many strange things happening in the world, don't you think ? Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  8. I haven't noticed many spiders or any other little creatures so far this fall...spiders usually try to get inside when it starts turning colder but we are having 80 degree days.....

  9. Susie, I love Sundays, and they are starting to be my favorite day of the week. I was so glad to hear that you are still writing notes and letters to your loved ones. It seems no one does this anymore. Thank you, Susie, for communicating through the mail with handwritten notes. It's always such a surprise for me to get anything hand written in the mail. It sounds like you had a busy Monday. wow, those spiders seem to be showing up everywhere. I'm not sure why. Keep us informed if you find out anything, that's so interesting.

    Have a good week, Susie.

  12. I have noticed a lot of spider webs lately, too. I have been keeping my car outside the garage since the carpenter has stuff inside that he used like to cut the tile for the bathroom. Anyway, I was walking to my car yesterday and walked into a long web that had to have been stretched from the tree and that is quite a few feet! I hope we don't have lots of spiders, but I did see one in the house that dropped out of no where onto the arm of the recliner I was sitting in. Ewww!
Take care and have a nice day!

  14. I always feel such a sense of accomplishment on those quiet peaceful days when I can do things like write cards. The legal pads remind me of work! Your Monday was productive in a much busier way. I'll take a Sunday any time. Spider webs I haven't noticed, but we are seeing too many spiders so they must have a web out there somewhere. I saw the biggest one ther other night. DH said it was a tarantula. Ugh!

    1. Nonnie, I remember when we found a tarantula in some parts at work...scary. I love writing to my sister and my grands. My sis does not have a computer and never will so we stay in touch and do a lot of our whining on paper. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie

  15. Hi Susie, Like everyone else, it sounds like you had a perfect Sunday-except for the webs. We seem to see them more in the fall-don't know why, but they also blow through the air. I don't want to think about that many spiders.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  16. The weather is still fabulous. Of course it's only been a couple of minutes since I commented on your previous post. Arlene and I enjoy drinking wine on her front porch. It's on the third floor. We won't be going out there for too much longer though. As far as music goes, our interest intersect at certain points but after that our musical interest are wildly divergent. Time to eat!

  20. Susie,

I just dropped in to say THANK YOU for the lovely comment you left at LAWN TEA. bj is such a sweet person, and she insisted on telling her friends to come visit Towandaland with us.

Don't you just LOVE sitting outside in the rustle of the leaves with a little task, a book, a letter-to-write, as the days are so sunny and sometimes the spot of sun is a welcome warmth before the snow sets in.

I came by, read this post, then ran back to LAWN TEA to show you a post I wrote about four years ago. Though I haven't seen many up here, those Cobweb Days were quite frequent in the South.

Thank you for coming to visit!
