Happy Presidents' Day....

Another cold day here in central Indiana. Ten degrees this morning. It will warm up as the days goes on. No mail today, some school aren't having classes. Some government offices are closed.
Here's honest Abe at the Lincoln Memorial.  I think this may have been our favorite president.  If we rolled all the political presidential candidates into one person, they would not measure up to Lincoln. Too bad . LOL Yikes, do not get me started.
We had snowing and blowing yesterday. The total amount of snow was probably an inch, or so. I do not understand why I am so very sick of this winter already. It can go and be history as far as I am concerned. I know I am not the only one that feels this way. Each day I mark off a date to be closer to spring.  Wishing everyone a wonderful day. XO

  1. Heavens! I forgot all about Presidents' Day. Thank you for reminding me. John just said that this weather (-20°F) is the pits. I told him that it would change soon. He asked me if it was changing in the next ten minutes. Guess that he's done with winter, too.

  3. Susie, I took a picture recently that looks just like this. I saw the flag waving in the distance behind a tree. I wish I could show you it through your e-mail. Aaahh, there's Abraham Lincoln's statue, so grand. He was a beloved president for sure.

Enjoy the week, Susie. It's so cold there. Bundle up when you go out.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, I was out a couple times yesterday, carrying in firewood and sweeping the snow from the porch and walkway. I do not think I'll leave the house today. It's a lounging kind of day. I have just cleaned up from lunch. Ted went to his shop to work on a couple benches. So I can read and visit blogs. Blessing, xoxo, love, Susie

    1. Missy, I sure hope no one gets ice...that is too scary. I hate the thoughts of anyone being without power. Oh I do not like when it's hot and miserable either. I guess I like it around 65-70. Blessings, stay warm, xoxo,Susie

  5. If we can get through today, the rest of the week is supposed to be warmer. I'm finished with winter too even though this year really hasn't been that bad. But I'm longing for the warm temperatures, flowers and sweet air of spring. I remember seeing the Lincoln Memorial when I was in Washington DC. I had no idea the statue was so huge! He was a great president but not so loved in his day. I think it takes perspective to understand how good or bad a person is.

    1. Kathy, yes honey, we truly had a mild winter...especially where snow is concerned. I took that picture of Lincoln statue myself. I love seeing all there was to see in D.C. I would love to go back. Oh , yes, I know the north was crazy about Lincoln ..But all in all he was honest...wish we had that with our future presidents. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Ten degrees does not sound fun at all, but I wouldn't mind having some snow. We are having sunny days and warm temps and lots of wind. It never seems to stop blowing. It is supposed to be in the 80's this week. That isn't normal. We went to Washington, D.C. last year and I enjoyed seeing the Lincoln Memorial and also the place where he died. He was a very good president. Sure wish we had a candidate like that this year. Have a good week and stay warm.

    1. Nonnie, I enjoy all the monuments in D.C. too. I'd love to go back for another visit. I do not think our weather has been what we would call normal at all. Record breaking highs and low this winter. I think I am ready for flowers in the yard. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. LOL LInda...so funny, we do too. I think our weather has been extra windy this year. Too much tree cutting...even though we are not the rain forest. :) Blessings, hope you are feeling good this week. xoxo,Susie

  8. I love winter but can understand people wanting it to end soon. Maybe I should have lived in Alaska?

    1. Dewena, I am willing my share of winter to you, LOL. I think I never like winter growing up, because of a lack of warm clothing, boots, mittens and such. Now it hinders me getting out and about. I only want to do so much housework. :):) Bless your heart, xoxo,Susie

    1. Debbie, I have been paying attention to how long it stays daylight out these past two weeks. I am loving it. I counted the days till spring starting at 77...so I know we are now 33 days away...look how fast that time went by. Debbie, I hope your week is a good one also. Love you my friend, xoxo,Susie

    1. Linda, I pray I never get allergies. Dust makes me sneeze, and that is enough of an irritant. Don't you think we have all had some unusual weather this year. We have had record breaking highs and lows. Plus it's been a windy winter here too. Blessings, love you, xoxo,Susie

  11. I am so ready for spring, too, Susie! And I don't know why because our winter hasn't really been that terrible weather-wise. I guess I'm just tired of the cloudy, gloomy days and the barren landscape. So ready for green! And flowers!
    Have a nice week!

  12. Hi Susie! We haven't had too much snow this winter, but this area is new to us. Last year it snowed before Thanksgiving and didn't all melt until Easter! Spring is around the corner and I thank you so much for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

    1. Shelia, I am glad you are doing better. I can't wait to read that you are brand new again. That would be too much snow for me. But I do remember years like that. I am too old to deal with that much snow now. Blessings for a great week. xoxo,Susie
P.S. Hope your grandgirl is doing well.
