Sunday Bouquet....

I could not resist picking some blossoms off the weeping cherry tree.
To me there's no fragrance in these blossoms. But they do have beauty. Yesterday was a wonderful day in Indiana. The best blue skies and warm temperatures.   I did get all the pansies planted that I bought at the end of March.
People were out and about in our town.  Even I went to the grocery....the shelf stockers were smiling down on me . The store was not crowded and did not get crowded while I was there. I saved 10 dollars with my coupons too.
The day ended without a cloud in the sky.  Today is to be just as nice. I will be joining my daughter for brunch today.  We may get well into this week before the weather changes. My first thing to do tomorrow is go to the dentist....well all of you know how happy that makes me.   Yikes , my hair is already standing on end. I need an x-ray , the thing my dentist keeps calling sensitivity . I think is some thing else.
Wishing all of you lovely people out there a glorious Sunday.  XO

  1. Happy you are having the great weekend.

Sorry about the upcoming dental appoint. Good to get an Xray, since your body is telling you, it isn't just what he is saying it is.!!!!!

Lucky you, to have a weeping cherry tree! We used to have a plum tree, near the patio door. Heavenly in the spring.

But the roots were not heavenly and it had to go.

    Happy Spring weekend!

  2. Tessa, We had a dogwood tree, it lasted one year. I was so sorry to lose it. We also had a flower plum bush in the back it only cost 2 dollars and lasted a good many year...before it died out. Ted and I have planted Many shrubs and 8 trees here. We right now are holding off cutting down our shag-bark hickory...the top was torn out by a storm..we are hoping it will have enough eaves to get thru another summer. Hope your Sunday is a good one with good weather. Bless you,,xoxo, Susie

  6. Well since I'm visiting your last couple of entries at the same time I won't mention what I have already mentioned except Arlene and I may head to another beach, perhaps Marblehead or Rockport. Of this all depends on how Arlene feels. We had a beautiful sunset last night but I didn't have a camera with me and there aren't many spots close by where I can get and unobstructed view of the Horizon.

    1. Boston Boy, I would say you and Arlene deserve a nice vacation. I bet there are plenty of wonderful places to stay around your area. I am going to look those towns up that you mentioned. I am not sure I know where they are. Yes, take your camera...you always do great photos and film clips. Blessings to you and Arlene. xoxo,Susie

  7. Isn't this Indiana Weather just the THING??? Oh, so long awaited---I knew when I opened my eyes yesterday a.m. that the Lowes and Menards parking lots would be filled with folks wheeling along great flats of flowers and mulch and such.

And they WERE! We didn't stop to buy anything there, for we were headed for lunch and groceries and a couple of other small errands (wearing a T-Shirt and SHORTS!!!) What a treat!

Thank you for your comment on the little blue "house"---you can't see it, but it even has little inch-wide SHINGLES---the old grainy-sandy kind, to cover the roof. And it IS a sort of mail-drop, but not the one the mailman would open to stick the letters in---it's a decades-old little door-note-box behind that door.

I'll be writing about it tomorrow for Blue Monday---a blog friend sent it to me when i admired it on her blog, and told her about the neighbors who had one not nearly so colourful or splendid, and how I'd envied that. They had cut-up notebook paper inside, with a little stub of pencil on a grimy string, and you could leave a note to say you dropped by, or their dress had been hemmed, or the meeting was at 4 instead of 3.

What a sweet-simple little method of communication. I just love this little thing, and hope you'll look in tomorrow for the post!

Much more of this SPRING weather to us both!

  11. Hi Susie! Your cherry blossoms are so beautiful! Glad your weekend was so nice. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as you go to the dentits and say a prayer for you! I so understand as I've spent half my life in the dentist's chair! Thank you so much for popping in and sharing my joy about my little Carter! Yes, there really is power in prayer.

  14. Love your blossoms, Susie...I think they also look spectacular covering the ground! Beautiful weather here, too. Of course, we're neighbors!

I have some sensitive molars and I tried the toothpaste Sensodine. I never thought it would work and then I read that it actuallly penetrates the enamel and it really does help me when I get flare up. Good luck though.

  17. Hi Susie, I swear I thought I had left you a comment yesterday. I love weeping Cherry trees-we had several in Ca. and tried to grow one here but the cold got to it.
I love the tree! I also like Cherry trees because their blossoms are so fragrant. WE have some fruitless Pear trees that have white blossoms but no scent. Thanks for sharing.
