Country Life....

If you are going to live in the country, you need a place to enjoy it. This morning things are calm , peaceful and sunny.  Yes, just like I love it.
Checked the hydrangea...it's plenty big, but no flowers or even a hint of one. Hmmm?
The foaming is no longer happening at the bird water feature. They like to drink from this.  I have some clover growing along the lattice, but I want to leave it for the bees.
Hung the fern by the shop.  Have to get the step stool to water it though. :):)
We got a new flag for our 4th this year. Some times I'll put a new hem at the end. Flags do a lot of waving out here in the country with the winds.
Ahh...this year across the road is soybeans. I love to watch them in the breezes. It appears as green rolling waves. So peaceful. I sit on the porch and writes cards and letters to family and friends, just to enjoy being outside on these beautiful summer days.  I wish this for all of you.
Teddy Bear and I had a wonderful day yesterday. A celebration of  Heath's  stepson Alex's graduation  from school. Alex is autistic...he did not care about why everyone was there.  He had his cartoons and music. A tall boy of over 6 foot, with childlike mannerisms. I want to say this young man has an artistic talent that is wonderful to see. He is totally obsessed with dinosaurs. Knows everything about them. Can draw them so well. It was a happy day for all.
Wishing you a blessed Sunday. XO

  2. Susie, I live on the edge of a country road and I love to drive it sometimes, but you live right in the country, how wonderful! Your fern is looking very nice and green. And it's always a joy to see your deck. It sounds like a fun day at Alex' graduation.

Have a pleasant Sunday, Susie. Just getting last minute things for Jess' wedding. I found some gold sugar to put around the rim of the champagne glasses. The things they come up with nowadays are something else. :)

  6. Hydrangeas here are covered in blooms at least 9 inches across. The bushes are enormous in size. Really beautiful.

    1. Carol, I guess seeing tall buildings most of the time...this open space and green fields would seem so different. I felt like I learned more about Alex seeing his art work. I think of him as a grown child..seeing the art made me think inside the grown child's mind is a young man, soon to be twenty. I hope he can continue with his art...he will be in adult day care while his mom and stepdad work. Hope it does not hinder him, because it will be so different than school. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Carol, Some days the quiet is just what we need. I hate hearing noises that go on forever. I am not good with barking dogs either. I always feel they are barking from bordom...need walked or feed. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Your photos are so peaceful. I enjoy watching the scenery behind our house as the wind blows the trees and the tall cattails and wild flowers. It's very peaceful. If only I could figure how how to get rid of the pesky little bugs that fly around and the wasps that want to hover.

    1. Cindy, My hydrangea used to have big flower head and be lavender, pink or greenish...I know the color comes the acids in the soil. I hope it blooms soon. I would be happy with tiny flowers...just know it's okay. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  13. Hi Susie,
It's been awhile! Yes I love peaceful days like that top picture portrays. I had a better day today, but I've had a few UN-peaceful days lately! My Shug just ordered some new flags. They do wear out quicker in the country breeze. I'd find a lower place for that fern! Just sayin'! Just popping in to say hI!

    1. Cindy, I hope your Shug man gets well 100 percent. Ted wanted to hoang that fern lower, but it just didn't look right...so I just do what I have to do. I like using a watering can rather drag the hoses out and have to roll them back up. Hope you got to go to Horton's this past sale. Their next will be in the fall. I try to pop in everyone. Hope you are doing well honey. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
