Those Huge Pumpkins....

These are photos I took last year of a pumpkin patch in a town east of here. I did get to go by there again this year, but forgot my camera. Yes, the man that lives at this place was growing those pumpkins again. Just as big as this .
He has to use a block and tackle to lift them onto a trailer.
I did not see any melons this year. I have seen that the man truly tends to his gardens. My husband saw a fan blowing across the bigger pumpkins when it was very humid out. I wanted so much to talk with the gardener this year, but never got there. :(
Some autumn color in this yard.
One of my favorite trees in town. So many colors on it at once.
One of the shops in town selling mums and pumpkins .
That was a lots of pumpkins. I never bought any more, other that what I bought at the Horton's store.  I do remember my girls carving pumpkins when they were young. LOL
Yesterday, Ted went to cut wood and I cooked and cleaned, as usual. . I made a pot of  chili and we will be having that for lunch today.  Ted was brave enough to go golfing again. Wore his long pants too. LOL
My dentist appointment went like this...the x-ray showed nothing...although my tooth was so sensitive it hurt to pull the floss between them. Nothing wrong with my gums, nothing on the x-ray. So it looks like I will be getting a 3-d x-ray after election day and then that dentist will do a root canal if needed.  I told my dentist that the tooth was even sensitive to cold now. I never chew on that side. I am honestly thinking of having root canals on all of the teeth that had been sensitive.  Scary, huh? Well after election a root canal might be a joy. LOL
This month is about over. Wishing all a great day. Be happy. XO

  1. Susie, are you using Sensodyne or some similar product? Hope that everything settles down...sounds as if a nerve is on hyper alert.

How do those gardeners get the pumpkins to grow like that?! Amazing. Must be like caring for an infant with all the TLC.

    1. Hi Betsy, It's really fall now...so chilly too. I think that make the leaves more enjoyable . :):) Brings back so many memories of when my children were small. We always loved our autumns. I am hoping the 3-d x-ray will help narrow down my problem. it's so irritating when two professionals can't find the problem. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. I have a hyper-sensitive tooth that two dentists have looked at and can find nothing wrong. I was told to use Sensodyne toothpaste and it has been a God send. I can tell the difference if I don't use it for a day or two. Maybe it will help you.

Love all the color in your town. It's so pretty!

  6. Hi Susie, same story at the dentist for me too and like several commenters above, Sensodyne completely stopped the pain after a few weeks.

Those pumpkins make me think of a couple of Hallmark movies about growing big pumpkins! What a wonderful part of our country that you live in! I'm sighing over the gorgeous autumn color you have there.

    1. I do use that toothpaste and have for along time. It's that the pain is more intense than ever....but nothing shows on x-rays. So the 3-d x-ray should help.
I have enjoyed seeing the color around our town this past week. It seemed to take longer this year. Our weather patterns in the U.S. have changed a lot. Blessings to you Dewena. xoxo, Susie

Teeth ~ blessing and curse. Love to eat, love to chew, but when one hurts....yikes ~ no fun. Hope they get to the "root" of it. Oh sorry...bad joke.
I have lost several teeth, and now have partials to fill in the gaps. At least they don't hurt!!

  12. Sorry to read about your teeth problem, you know after the root canals you will have to cap the teeth or they will break off at your gums? My past experience anyway.
I love large pumpkins however I don't decorate for the fall any longer

    1. I have so many crowns ...it's one of those that's making me nuts. I think the root canal on it didn't take right....or whatever. It's been sensitive and now it makes all the teeth in that part of my mouth painful. I use sensodyne. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. JP, I hope you never have to get a root canal. The dentist should be an expert to do it. My own dentist doesn't do them. He sends me out. I just want to know why I am having such pain ...it's more than sensitivity. Maybe by next month it'll be taken care of. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  15. Susie, I'm so sorry you're dealing with your tooth issue. Having had multiple root canals, I don't wish that on anyone. I began using Sensodyne toothpaste when my teeth got sensitive and that helps tremendously. Love your sights in town, our mums are done blooming.

  16. Wow- those were some huge pumpkins! Kind of funny about the fan in the field. Wonder what happens to those huge pumpkins when the season is over?

Glad Ted got out to golf. Hubby went with his brothers the other day, too. It was good for him to go and wasn't too cold. He missed most of the golfing season this year.

Hope you have a great upcoming weekend, Susie. xo Diana

Diana, I wanted to asked the pumpkin grower where they took those huge things...but I never got to meet up with him. Hope your weekend goes well also. Love you, xoxo, Susie

  17. My kids always chose the hugest pumpkins from the field. Grrrrrr...still, they are wonderful.

I'll be there with you and your tooth woes. I have one that is fractures way up high and it has to be pulled and fitted with an implant. A long expensive journey. I have a high tolerance for pain but this is so scary. November 8. I;m counting it down with dread.

Good luck to you. Keep us posted.

    1. Blondie, I have asked myself many times...when do I say enough..I think at times having dentures could not be this annoying...but my dentist tells me it is worse. Then I say, What does he know...he can't seem to help me thru this. LOL I will pray for you to have great results. I have one implant and it looks real and great....but I just think it's not right...or is this where my pains started.??? I know you will have an awesome dentist in the big city. I do wish you the best. As I age I know that a smile is a beautiful thing...because it's what others notice of older ladies. So believe me Blondie girl I want to at least have a great smile. :):) Blessings for a fabulous weekend. Next week in the 70's here. :):) xoxo, Susie

  20. Bless your heart! I am so sorry for the dental issues. Nothing much worse than that! Well, I guess there a lot of things that could be worse but you know what I mean!
I enjoyed seeing your favorite tree! NO color here in Texas and we are back in summer time mode with hot days again. This will be the second October that I have not been able to wear either one of my Halloween sweaters! AND some of my flowers died while we were in the country due to no rain and the heat. Halloween may set a new record high temp this year to boot! Weather!!!

It's in the 70's here now for he next few days and may get to 80 one day. I am loving it for now...cause I know winter will arrive and I dread that. I have a cute sweater with scarecrows on it. I like to wear it during fall. Blessings to you and LD. love you both, xoxo, Susie

  21. You are not alone in the world of sensitive teeth. Sometimes mine are so sensitive that I squirt Sensodyne into my teeth and let it sit there. It really helps. On the other hand, if I use it too often, my teeth become use to it so I listen to my teeth. Hee Hee! Hope you can get some answers.
