Visiting Cliff....

Ted and I had made plans today to visit his brother Cliff, at the nursing home in Mulberry. As we came into that cute little town, the church bells were playing a noon time hymn.  That is one thing about small towns that I love, they let you know  it's noon and time to eat. LOL
So we met up with Ted's other brother Mic. We decided to eat at the Southfork  Bar/Grill again. I want you to see the boat flip over for a porch at the back door.
This is the mural along the side entrance. Ted  ordered mushroom and cheese smothered chicken with waffle fries.  Mic had the roast beef sandwich with French fries. I had a club sandwich with chips.
I had to show this sweet old Nova that was parked at the side. I saw it the last time we ate there. So the owner must lived in town or close by.
This is the dining room at the nursing home. Lunch was finished and cleaned up when I took this shot. Sorry it's too dark.
This is one of the pretty courtyards.  The grounds are always  cared for and clean.
We had good news with Cliff. He has had some away  trips to his church and home. He is getting some movement of his right side. It's a long process. But I felt so much better seeing this. Linda, his wife , says he is getting good  PT and speech therapy also.  He did not seem as sad this visit . We are so thankful. Thanks to all of you who  may have had good thoughts  or prayers for Cliff. You are so appreciated.
Wishing everyone a great weekend. XO

  3. Thankful for the improvement in Cliff. May God continue to bless him, his wife and therapists. Such a lovely courtyard and I'm happy he has enjoyed a few outings. I enjoyed seeing where you had lunch; the car is cool! My dad would have loved that one! I love to hear church bells at noon, also. Brings back sweet childhood memories. Have a good evening, Susie.

    1. Mildred, I do believe all the prayers are helping Cliff. His wife was so happy to know people were praying for him. I like seeing restored cars. The people that own them seem to really care for them. We have a church in my hometown here that plays bells at noon and 5:00...makes me happy to hear them. Blessings to you, hope your weekend is great. xoxo, Susie

  5. Dear Susie,
I am so happy to hear this visit with Cliff was a happier one. It looks like a lovely place there and I am certain that in itself is a real comfort to his wife.
That lunch stop was great! Loved seeing that boat turned upside down! Talk about repurposing something!!
We are back home now and I have unlimited Internet so I can catch up on all that's been happening while we were in the country.
The washer and dryer are running, everything is put up and we are watching the news.....or LD is. I am pretending to every once in awhile! It will be an early bedtime for us tonight!!
    Wishing you a blessed weekend!!!

    1. Linda, When I read this and you mentioned unlimited internet...it remeinded me of the sign in front of the church picture. It says; prayer, the world's best wireless connection...don't you love that? Getting all the laundry washed and dried from your vacation will feel great. I love having my laundry all caught up....doesn't last long.LOL I bet the quads will be happy to see their grandparents again. :):) I sure pray that everyone is doing well there. Love you guys, blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Awww, bless his heart. How good that he is feeling more positive and that he is doing better. Recovery takes a little time, but sounds as if it is happening.

My town used to tell us when it was noon. They stopped long years ago and I still miss it. Might not miss it if I lived beside the fire station. It sounded like a fog horn.

    1. Vee, A good attitude helps us in so many ways. I think with Cliff having short trips to his house with his wife has helped his spirits. My daughter's town does sirens at noon. :):) I just kind of like when I hear the bells better than a siren. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diana, That nursing home really is very nice. They have the fancy birds in an aviary and tanks of fish. Many areas with trees and flowers. Lots of nooks where families can relax with the loved one to talk.
The thing about the Bar/Grill, they fry things and you may soak up that smell ...ewwee, not a fan of smelling foods being fried. I have changed since being young. LOL. I am happy you are blogging again. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Blondie, I think with Cliff getting to go on short trips with his wife for a few hours, has helped his spirits...our attitudes can help us when trying to recover from an illness or in Cliff's case, his stroke. Linda did talk about when Cliff got home , about going back to this place for his therapy. That sounded like she had hopes of his being well enough to return home. It's been 3 months since his stroke. Thank you so much for the prayers and love....that truly helps. Blessings to you for a great weekend. xoxo, Susie

Glad he is doing so much better. That town is adorable and I too agree the church bells ringing give such a sense of days gone by and peace. Have a great weekend.
