Yesterday , Emma & Harvesting....

Look at our Emma. She is growing up ...with these glasses on she seems even older. LOL  We went to Liz's for a celebration of Matt's birthday, early.
Yesterday morning early, Mike (neighbor) was putting the bean head on his combine.
Then he pulls the wagons to the field he is harvesting. I call these bumble wagons..they make the most racket coming down the barn drive, sound like thunder.
The fellow who farms the field across from us , did beans yesterday also. Got the whole field down.
So must dust and dirt. I will be washing windows soon. I wanted to wait till all the crops around here were in.
Beans all harvested in front of our house.
Neighbor man , Mike's corn next door to his mother's...done.
Coming home from my daughter's house yesterday evening. Got this pretty sunset. It was so nice to see my twin daughters and their families. Plus some of Matt's birthday wishing friends.
Today was a perfect day. Ted cut a dead tree down for the neighbor and cut it into firewood already. I did laundry and cleaned.  Read some blogs. :):)
It's terrible , the havoc the hurricane has caused  the coastal states.  Let's keep them in our thoughts. Bless you. XO

  1. Looks like most of the harvest is done around you. They're still working on it here and putting up alot of hay. Emma has grown so much. They just grow up before our eyes. I cry when I watch the news or weather. As dry as it is here I'm afraid to complain with so many people's lives destroyed like it is. I feel so bad for them. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. xo

    1. Susie, The harvesting around here has been moving right along. Lucky for the farmers, the weather's good. I hope the people along the coast can rebound, with help from fema and donations. We have to count our blessings, Love , xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Jenn, I think my neighbor gets kind of nervous to get crops out and then to get then in at harvest. He's done a great job. I am glad the fields of bean on the corner and across from us harvested...we can see again. LOL. Not blocking the views. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Emma is so sweet! I love the pics. You are so lucky to live surrounded by so much beautiful farmland. It's so pretty.

My heart aches for the coast of Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's. I had my cell under my pillow to check the progress, It could have been much worse.

    1. Blondie, I am thankful and at the same time saddened by the news. Thankful the hurricane diminished, sad by the lose to all in it's path.
Our Emma is growing up and spends time with her friends, and Layla & Max(niece and nephew to her)So we rarely have any time with her spending the night here. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Your Emma is adorable love her glasses. Love that beautiful sunset. That is what I love about moving where we are now. Out the back of where we live is all farmland and out the front is suburbia with Target, shops, eating etc. Best of both worlds. I love driving home from my daughters house and seeing those pretty sunsets and the open farms. Have a great week end.

    1. Kris, It is good for the heartland and Midwest to be in a great harvesting weather pattern. My prayers go to the people effected by the hurricane...I know they will rebound but it's going to take lots of help.
You are in the best spot. I feel at times that the 5 miles to town is more than I want to bother with. LOL. Blessings for a beautiful Sunday. xoxo, Susie

  11. Gosh yes, Emma is growing up. My youngest niece turned 13 today. (sad face) Time sure goes fast, doesn't it Susie. I don't have any farm fields right next door to my house, and I sure am glad because I'm working in the basement and do not want to take time out to wash windows!! LOL! Have a great day.

    1. Cindy, I just keep putting off the window washing. I need to do it right now. And may. I hate dirty windows. I use white vinegar and water and a squeegee....makes for the easiest washing ever. Oh and wipe the squeegee with a ball of paper towels, each pass down the window. :) Cindy, I know children gotta grow...but it seems faster than I can keep up. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

But I missed you and wanted to stop unpacking for awhile and visit some of my favorite blogs. Everything always looks so green and groomed at your home. And that sunset is beautiful.
