This is the shops, café and studios owned by Bill Gaither. It's in Alexandria , Indiana. Two towns east of my hometown. They have wonderful foods here, although I have not eaten here. The day Ted and I went here, we had just had our lunch. I checked out the menu on line. Soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, skillet meals, and desserts. Gloria Gaither's red raspberry cake was mentioned.
There's a studio were cd and dvd are recorded.
As you step inside the gift café entrance, you'll see racks of cd's and dvd's. Gospel and country music.
Pillows , knic-knacks. , plaques , and planters.
I did not look thru too long, but will be going back one day...I'd love to have lunch there.
I thought this was a welcoming spring sight as you enter.
I picked up this cd of Joey and Rory Feek. I bought it for a friend . Joey has passed away of cancer. Way too soon. There's a book Rory has written about their life together. I am looking forward to going back to this shop/café and looking at more of there wares.
Today it is snowing and a winter advisory has been issued. It's let up now , so I do not think we will get much here. Prayers for the east coast, it is looking like a huge storm for them. Please be safe. XO
I would love to visit there, Susie. I love the Gaithers. Praying your weather will not be severe. God bless. xoxoReplyDelete
Mildred, I remember listening to the Gaithers at my dad's He really like their southern gospel music. Our weather isn't to bad...just that the roads are slick in places. I always pray for people who have to be out in it. Blessings, xoxo, susieDelete
What a charming little shop, Susie. I love shops like this. Too bad you didn't browse in there for long. It looks like there's a lot of Spring stuff. The red raspberry cake sounds so Yummy, I'm not familiar with this couple, but I'm so sorry to hear he passed away.ReplyDelete
Have a wonderful week, Susie. I didn't hear about the storms coming in the East Coast, oh my.
Sheri, I am going back to that shop and look at all their nice things. This coming weekend is Horton's spring open house...can't wait. LOL The Gaithers is an entire family of gospel singers and the Feeks were associated with them. Mrs. Feek was named Joey and sweet pure voice sweetheart. She passed away and told her husband on her death bed , "If our album wins a grammy, you have to go " They did win but she had passed by then. He did a book tour and was on the today show. Blessings, love the spring photo you posted today. xoxo, love SusieDelete
That's a very nice store. I would love to visit it. I love the Gaithers!ReplyDelete
Sylvia, I remember listening to the Gaithers with my dad. The whole place belongs to Bill and Gloria Gaither. There's so much to see, I just have to go back. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I enjoyed the tour of the Gaither's place. I love their music. It was so sad about Jody Feek's death. We've had steady snow all afternoon (not sticking).ReplyDelete
Karen, I will be going back and getting some good photos. I love Joey Feek. I first saw her in a commercial with Rory. They were a beautiful couple. Rory moved back to Nashville after Joey passed. Our snow comes and goes nothing heavy just slick on the roads. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie...that looks like a nice place to visit, hope you get back there for lunch. Sad when Rory died. It snowed a little bit last night about an inch. I was just getting used to "no snow" but that will come soon enough. Spring is just 8 days away!!!!ReplyDelete
Louise ...This break in our lovely spring weather is a mess. The roads are slick in places. The snow is not heavy. I will go back to Gaithers to have lunch one day and then get more pictures. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Is that a yellow hammock? *swoon*ReplyDelete
Vee, I thought that hammock was unusual too. I can remember lying around in one at the lake cottage of a friend's , when I was 10. I thought it was wonderful. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love the Gaithers and would love to visit their place. Thanks for sharing the photos of your visit. Raspberry cake? I've never heard of it.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, I will get better photos next time I am there...because I truly want to have lunch there one day. I hope you check out the on line site. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I remember singing Gaithers songs when I was a teenager in Youth Group. They have been around for a long time. I didn't know they had a store. It looks nice. I hope you get to eat there and tell us what it is like. I follow the Feeks on facebook. It was sad when Joey died.ReplyDelete
Kathy, I do not know the connection of the Gaithers and the town of Alexandria. I do know that Joey feek was born and raised there. Rory brought her back when she was ill and she passed away there near her family and friends . It's is sad, she was a truly beautiful person. Blessings, stay warm and safe. xoxo, SusieDelete
What a darling shop. I have seen interviews with Rory Feek...what beautiful music they made. Have a good week Susie!ReplyDelete

What a cute shop and looks like a great place to have lunch. I have to drive north for a dental appt. today so I hope the snow will not be too bad on the roads. We are not getting as much as they thought. So I hope anyway.ReplyDelete
Have a great rest of the week.
Kris, Please be safe out there. No more snow than we had made the roads nasty. I hate when I have dr. and dental appointments during bad weather...well not real crazy about them any time. LOL Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Your photos certainly remind me of Spring however one look out the window tells me different. I may go right to my blog and write about it.ReplyDelete
Boston Boy, You do need to post about the blizzard. Just e safe going out. I hope you have a porch or deck you can go out on. It's interesting to read someone's person experience of such snows. Blessings and stay warm. xoxo, SusieDelete
We've had 13 inches so far.,Pretty.Birds are busy at the feeders...That shop is cute and looks like a fun place to visit..ReplyDelete

Yes, I am going back to have lunch at that cute shop/café. Blessings to you, hope you and your husband love being with your family there. Blessings to all, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love the Gaithers and have several of Gloria's books on teaching children. I still use them with the quads now!ReplyDelete
Do your remember Mark Lowery? He used to be with the Gaithers and is hilarious. I think he has struck out on his own now and see a lot of posts on Facebook from his page. He co wrote Mary, Did You Know - beautiful!!!
Linda, That is so interesting to know about Gloria. Yes, I love that song "Mary did you know." I am eager to have lunch there and spend time in the gift shop. Hope Summer girl is doing well. You and LD also. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I have been by there many times, and for awhile, my sister in law worked there. I've never been inside though. It looks nice. I didn't know they had a cafe'. I hope to go to Horton's on Saturday. Maybe I'll see you there.
Cindy, You can look on line and see the whole menu for the café. Some things look very tasty. I did not get to look into every corner and you know how we women are...we want to see it all. :):) Oh I hope we do see each other at Horton's on Saturday. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a lovely shop! I've heard of the Gaither family, but the only thing I know about their family is their gospel music. I didn't know about this shop! Great post Susie! Have a great rest of the week!ReplyDelete
