All That Happens....

This is all that happens in a weeks time. Thank you cards from my daughter's 5th grade class. Thanking me for helping with the picnic.  Some kids are very good at writing thank you notes and some just write "Thank You"...they all are important to me. :):)  I told you that all the left over cookies go back to the classroom as treats throughout the week. One young man actually wrote, "Thank you Nana, please tell Mr. H to lay off the oreos. " LOL.
Look at the late afternoon sky. Oh boy, we have had great sunny days.  Tomorrow will be the start of about 4 days of on and off rains. Storms possible too.
I have done some bird watching this week. The golden finches  are busy on this feeder.
Granddaughter Emma went to the museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I asked her if she liked it and she said ," Yes, it was interesting. " . I have only been once myself and I loved it.
Last but not least...yesterday was a doctor's appointment for Luke. Hooray he weighs 10 point 2 lbs. So he is gaining. The dr. says if he can keep gaining weight and growing , his lungs will be much better for fighting the Cystic Fibrous . Lynzie was happy to share this news.
I had to go out this morning looking for a dr. .My doctor has left our town...the drs. that are here are not taking any new patients.  You know when you are sick, you do not feel like driving out of town to see someone either. So I will be seeing a dr. at a place called care clinic.  I have a cold...I think. I thought it was sinus at first...but now I am coughing and so I need help. I miss the doctor I had when I was young,he was the best.
Enjoy this day and please be safe if you are in the line of storms. XO

  1. I hope you feel better soon. I had a terrible cold a couple of months ago and the cough lingered on. The baby is just growing like a week...as old people used to say! And the thank you cards are so sweet. It's so important to teach them early. Hugs!

    1. Hi Diane, I have been lucky to have had a cold in forever. I think I got this one from Ted...he had it first. :( I am happy Luke is growing. Hope you are getting to be outside in good weather. The wind here today is about 35 miles an hour...too fierce for sitting out. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Sorry you are sick, Susie, and I hope you will be treated well at the care clinic. I'm thankful that Luke has gained weight. Prayers continue for him. I hope you won't have flooding or storms over the next few days. We are having highs in the 90's - too hot for this early in the year. Take care and feel better. xoxo

    1. Mildred, It's been so long since I have had a cold...that I had forgotten what it's like. That is what I have. Rats.:):) Thank you so much for your sweet prayers. Mildred, I am thankful for my blog family, all are so kind. I will be keeping my eyes on the weather reports. So scary for the plains states. I agree, it's too soon to be in the 80's and 90's. I like cooler temps...like 65. LOL Blessings for a nice evening , xoxo, love you, Susie

    1. Thank you Judy. As long as Luke can gain weight and grow, he will have a better chance. Please keep him in your good thoughts and prayers. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  4. It's too bad your dr. left town. I hate trying to find a new doctor and hope to keep mine for a long time yet.

Glad Luke is gaining weight. I am so sorry he has CF. It is a difficult disease at best and so unfair to think a child has to deal with it...and it is scary for the parents, too.

Hope you have a good rest of the week, Susie! xo Diana

    1. Thank you Diana. I hope you all stay safe...these darn storms. It's too hot too soon.
I keep praying Luke will gain the weight he needs to grow stronger...he'll have a better chance , the stronger he is. Yes, Diana, it was tough on Lynzie and Mark, those poor kids cried so much. Luke will be tested again and then Max will also be tested. But Max had no red flags when he was born.
I went to the care clinic...the dr turned out to be a nurse practitioner. She looked in my ears listened to my lungs and told me I had a cold...well heck, I told her that very thing myself when I went in. She said let it run it's course..well wth. I tell you girl, I could just laugh or cry. I could take her place when she wants a day off. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. I pray that Luke will gain the weight he needs and that's his progress will simply astound the doctors! We have rain in the forecast too and we have a road trip planned. Every time we plan this trip, big rains come. Bummer. I'm sorry to hear about your doctor. I have had two of my doctors retire on me and another left temporarily, but at least she returned. We were so thankful because she is our PCP.

    1. Oh bless your heart Nonnie, you are so kind. I just keep praying for Luke and his family.
I am not liking all these horrid storms going across the country. I am hoping we do not have those heavy rains again.
Yes, I hope you get to keep your dr. too. I sure miss my favorite dr. He was the best. It's monopolies that is ruining our health care. Blessings, be safe on your trip. xoxo, Susie

  6. Good news about Luke, Susie. The oreos note is a hoot. Kids are so much fun. Did I tell you I, too, have a granddaughter named Emma? I love that name. I've been to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago three of our times. I love that place! Have a great rest of the week. Hugs, Nancy

    1. Nancy, I too love the name Emma. I am glad you like the museum of Science and Industry...I am sure there way more exciting things in there since I have been. We are all so grateful for Luke's weight gain. Lynzie had to go to some classes on his lungs also. I am also thankful that she and her mom are both nurses..that gives me some peace of mind for Luke. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  7. I continue to remember Luke and rejoice in this weight gain. My first grandson is also Luke! I know the notes from the kids blessed your heart. I do hope these storms will not be bad. And take care, this "cold" sounds like the beginning of what hit me hard a couple of weeks ago. Lots of people here have been sick with it.

    1. Dewena, When My granddaughter named Luke...she did not even know I had a an uncle named Luke. She laughed when I told her....it was because he had a nickname.(Moody) I do not know why. We are happy Luke is gaining weight. Yes, I love reading the letter from the 5th grade class...they are so cute and funny. I am hoping this is an old fashion two week cold...none of that crazy month long stuff. Blessings t you, hope you are doing well. xoxo, Susie

  8. Such sweet notes from the children! I love your golden birds! I've seen a pair of blue birds down here an a pair of cardinals. Plus yesterday I saw a couple of road runners in west Texas.

I haven't missed a day in praying for Luke and parents and you. Trusting God in all things....even though it's hard.
I read the comments and that's the reason I seldom go to the doctor. Everything just runs its course and if they give you medicine- we'll, I already take so much why would I want to take more? I'm grateful, though, for the good doctors LD and I have. I'm having a lot of maintenance tests in a few weeks - eyes, bones, mammogram. Louis Dean has been working hard and he has such hard biceps! He's lost weight since we've been down here. I haven't. I feel more matronly every day but I will have to accept that.
I'm going to borrow Dean's hot spot and catch up on blogs this afternoon while he goes to town. I'm so exhausted from all the hundreds of miles I drove yesterday! I rented a red Jeep and was so happy to turn it in this morning. I don't want to drive for a long time now!

    1. Linda, I truly am thankful for the prayers. You are a good woman.I know it's up to God and I must trust his choice...so I pray everyday for the good of my family. LD is a working man, he will be a strong person always.Ted is like that too. I have gotten "soft" these past 3 years. I feel my strength waning. I did not want any meds from the "dr" but to mainly feel out the service and since Luke can't be around sick people I wanted to make sure it was just a cold. But if you had been with me , you probably would have laughed. I told the nurse , I have a cold, She looked in my ears listened to my lungs and said ,"You have a cold" LOL I guess there's a lot to be said about us Dr. Moms. :):) I do not enjoy driving like I used too. I never dreamed I would lose my desire to drive . That is why I say I was born to be chauffeured. My girls call it "driving Miss Lazy" LOL darn those kids. Take care of yourself and your man. Love you guys, Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. Susie, I'm so happy to hear this about Luke. What a sweet picture of him and Lynzie. This is a very nice picture of the gold finches, they're so yellow. I have to always stop for yellow and red birds. It sounds like the kids really appreciated you helping out in the class room by sending you cards.

Stop by when you get a chance to hear the exciting news that I shared today. I think you will love it, Susie. : )

  10. Those little notes from the kids are so sweet! I'm glad to read that Luke is gaining weight and I'll be praying for continuing progress for him.
I'm sorry you've been dealing with a cold and I hope it is getting better now. I miss our old small town doctor. You didn't even need an appt to get in to see him. He even came by our house once when I had a bad dizzy spell and couldn't get out of bed without the room spinning.
Take care and stay safe in the storms that seem to be coming through. They were having tornado sirens going off in KC tonight when I texted my son.

  11. Susie, I'm so behind. Does your grand have cystic fibrosis? I'll certainly be praying. I love the birds. The finches are beautiful creatures. I've got to get a hook for my feeder. They won't come to my covered deck. Sweet baby love. Enjoy!
