Catching the setting sun last evening. If I use trees as a filter, you can spot the fiery sun ball.
I absolutely love sunsets. Had a beautiful day yesterday. Went to Angie's for brunch.
We wanted to enjoy a good visit with granddaughter, Sierra. She was flying back home to Tampa.
It was great to have her home for a week. She cooked with her mom. She swam with her parents and friends. She golfed a couple days. Help her mother and brother Jake shop for household furnishings, Jake is buying a house in town. He needs many things. I told Angie we all can give him a lot of things also. To get him started.
Some really good news for our town. Our grocery store was bought by a company from Ohio and will stay in our town. Which is a blessings for all of our townspeople. That is where the two fuddy -duddys come into play. Ted and I were out late going to the grocery for milk. LOL. But it was fun and funny. We laugh at ourselves all the time.
See it's late, car lights are shining in the on coming traffic. We just don't seem to be out late any more...that is a sure sign of growing old.
Well yes, you have guessed it...this is the cutie. Little Luke napping and sucking his thumb. He just melts my heart.
The weather here is to cool down somewhat...and I am so ready. It will be nice to sit outside. It will be extra nice not to have the AC running so much. The neighbor lady is hanging out her laundry this morning. :). Hope it is a beautiful day where you live. Enjoy. XO
It is, so far, after a quiet, relaxing weekend of clouds. Headed out and about for a bit in this sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to get to visit with so many of your GRANDS so much! We have just one here close now, with the others scattered into seven states. Planning an Amtrak adventure to go see the newest in October.
Stay cool, and enjoy that beautiful porch!
r
Rachel, Glad you could get outside today too. :) I have three grands that live in other states...but I of get to see them at least once a year. I would love an Amtrak trip. Traveling by train seems so interesting. I have gone from South Bend Indiana to Chicago...which isn't far, but was fun. I di get out on the porch and did some outside chores also. Great day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThat is a glorious sunset, Susie. I love that first one, it's so mysterious. Aahh, little Luke is precious. I do hope he stops sucking his thumb though, as Nel did the same and needed braces later on in life. I'm glad it's cooler there. It's been cooler in the mornings here, but really hot during the day. Enjoy these last days of July, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, I never make kids stop sucking their thumbs...I feel they need it for a reason ...maybe fretting, maybe it soothes them. His grandmother sucked her thumb while small and stopped at 4. lol. Her father would end up making her cry when trying to stop her...it always hurt my heart when that happened. I have been watching the weather...my gosh it's crazy..too much rain in places and not any in others and super heat. I think our patterns are all out of whack. I hope you are enjoying your summer. I do not want it too end here...but the talk of school starting soon ...makes me feel it will be autumn before we know it. Will Jess be teaching this year?? Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYes, Jess will be teaching until she has the baby, and then she will take a few months off. She is so happy it's summer time and gets to relax and do the things she loves. It's hard being a teacher every day, and I have enormous respect for them. Please tell your daughter I said that. : )
DeleteSusie, I didn't remember that little Luke had cystic fibrosis. My thumb sucking comment was inappropriate, and I'm truly sorry. I hope he gets all the medical attention in life that he needs.
Deletelove you, my dear blog sister, and you have such a very special family.
~Sheri
Sheri, It's ok honey. Lizzy used to suck her thumb and her father, who used to such his own thumb till he was about ten...would make me nuts trying to get her to quit...putting soap on her thumb. I know serious thumb sucking can misshape ones teeth...but she did fine actually. I think Luke will have a great start in life, as he is breast fed and has gain weight right off...the drs. said he should get as robust as possible while he is a baby...it will help in his fight. I know you do not have a mean bone in your body...you would never be mean.:) You are a special blog sister to me too. Bless you, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteBeautiful photos! The baby is so precious and a reminder of what calm truly is.
ReplyDeleteOh to sleep the sleep of a baby...Carol, that would be heavenly to me. :):) Hope you are doing well and getting some of this cool down weather. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI just want to cuddle up with that baby and take a nap too...maybe even such my thumb! heehee! How precious! Happy about your grocery store and love your sky photos. I love when the camera captures those light shafts...amazing! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I am so glad we are friends...you make me smile with your sweet comments. When I hold the babies and they go to sleep...I just keep holding them...LOL.. I never lay them down. I want them to feel safe in my arms. Oh yes, I am happy about our grocery. I cried when it was looking like it was all over for them. I have know that store as Marsh since I was a kid. Even though it will have another name...I will feel it is still Marsh. :) I got my camera back out today to try to get shots of crop dusters. I missed the best shot with my phone. Blessings to you and John, hope you have a great week. xoxo, Susie
DeleteLove your sunsets and catching up on your days. Internet here is sketchy at times so I don't get to keep up like I want to.
ReplyDeleteYour Luke and his precious parents remain in our prayers. He is adorable and absolutely perfect for the plan God has for him.
You? Ted? Fuddy Duddies?
I did not think Louis Dean and I would be in the 'before midnight' bedtime group.....but it is 11:50 as I write and Louis Dean is already asleep and I am only up long enough to catch up with you! We have gone to be bed by midnight every night since we got here! 5 nights in a row!
Love you, Susie Q! Have I thanked you for the sweet note and photo? It came at such a time of need. I cried just knowing I had friends of the heart whom I have never seen face to face and yet you have lifted me up so many times. I hope to do the same for you....
Thank you!
Thank you Linda. I truly love that you remember our Luke in your prayers. We need to all pray for each other and our families. You are so welcome for the note. Yes you and LD have cheered me many times with your comments. Just knowing someone cares can make our days brighter. I think of you,and many of my blog sisters as my very own heart sisters. I think if we lived nearer to each other we would have met and been friends our whole lives.
DeleteTed and I have changed our social lives many times since we have retired. So we are rarely out at dark. We are early risers most days, before 6:30...so we sure don't stay out late. LOL. I use to laugh at my parents for that. Blessings to you and LD, you are always in my prayers and in my heart. As is your family. xoxo, love, Susie
You have the perfect view of the gorgeous sunsets. Those pics are great! Luke is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen..I love to see the sunrises and sunsets. My sunrises in summer are blocked by the woods down the road. Karen, I just have fallen in love with my great grandkids. They make me want to hug them all the time. LOL. Blessings to you, enjoy these sweet morning of fresh air and low humidity. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie ~ We joined the Fuddy~Duddy club some time ago. Haha. Glad you get to keep your groc. store. That darling face melts my heart too. Beautiful skin and the comfort of a thumb. Sigh...Your sunsets are lovely too. Hope you are having a great day. Hugs.

LOL0 about the late-night shopping. I am kind of a night owl but don't go out shopping late...lol
ReplyDeleteThose sunset pictures are awesome, Susie. Very pretty.
That baby is absolutely adorable. One of my favorites is of little ones sucking their thumb.
Hope you have a good night- xo Diana
Diana, Once we set in for watching Wheel and Jeopardy...we usually do not go out. :):) I am so in love with my great grand babies. The boys had more testing today..for one to see if Max might have C.P. also. I pray not. I love that Mark, Lynzie and my daughter Liz are all together when they do the testing. I will know more later. Blessings to you Diana, you are a special blog friend indeed. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, Loved all your beautiful sunset photos. It is funny about night time shopping. I'm the same way, I think because I'm an early bird! Luke is just precious!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jody ♥
Jody, Ted and I rarely sleep past 7am. We like to get up early. So we usually settle down for the evening early also. We think our Luke is pretty adorable too. Thank you for coming by. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
