Happy Easter ...

I have a few old pictures of Easter to share.  I have had lots of carrots lately. In salads , soups, and stews.  I have missed blogging with all of you. Still try to follow many. I have days where I feel like all I do is run in circles...can't see to plan and organize like I used too. That is about to change.

As my daughter ,Kathy, who drove away from here into her new life in early September, has gotten settled and has her cat, Buddy back with her. Hooray !!!

I never realized what a job having a pet can be. Especially if it has special needs. Buddy had digestive issues...so no big bowl of dry food ,out all day, for him to eat . No it was every 4 hours of smelly glop. Honestly, I do not miss the feedings and the litter box. And he had two litter boxes.
But here is my smiling girl , ever so happy to have her pet in Seattle with her. Thanks to pet transporters. When Kathy got to Seattle, it was a long process finding a job that would afford her a decent life. She is very educated too. But a job came along and with employment she could find an apartment . She could not have her pet while she was staying at her son's.  He had to find his own cat a home when his son was born. Not sure why...unless it was too much work. It took 7 months instead of the two we thought.

So now I have less responsibilities . Can clean the the house top to bottom . Can sort through the boxes I still have packed up here. Oh my gosh. I am thinking if its been packed for over a year..I do not need it. So I will been donating and giving to others.

Wishing all of you  blessings and love. XO

  3. Susie, I totally got excited when I saw that you had posted again. Just take baby steps and do what brings you joy. We have a Lord that is very concerned over the well being of widows and orphans, there are several verses in the bible where He advises the churches and elders to care for them.
That's because it is a hard life, but with our Dear Savior watching over us, we can continue to enjoy life. We are here for a reason and you never know when your act of kindness or caring words will touch another person's soul.
I hope that you get back to blogging in a regular way. You have many blogging sisters (friends) that miss you and that have been holding you up in prayer.
God bless you, and again it is so nice to see this post :)

    1. Connie, Thank you for your sweet kind words. It means so much. I told my oldest grandgirl today...that some days I am what feels almost normal and other days I feel so much is missing. I do want to have joy again o I can give joy to others . I think if I can make myself focus on one project at a time, I will do better. Bless you my friend. xoxo, Susie

  6. Yes, it is always nice to see a post from an old friend. Nice to to know you are doing well and settling in there. I no longer have any pets, but they are too expensive and do take a lot of work that I can't do anymore.

    1. I heard a terrible story about a man and his dog. His puppy got ahead of him and into the road and truck ran over the pup and just kept going. The man took his pup to a vet and the vet said it will be 5,000 dollars to house him over the weekend and then if he lives for surgery on Monday it will be much more. That seems mean to me. One more reason for me not to own a pet. Take care. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Doris, How very kind. Thank you. We had some great weather the past 4 days. After crazy wild weather two weeks in a row. So I rake the yard mowed and then weed whacked. I thought I would surely sleep that night but the pain of my arthritis kept me up. Well after resting Easter Sunday and going to my daughters for coffee in the afternoon I really was better and glad the chores were done. I guess working along with play can give us stuff to write about. LOL. Take care and enjoy your outdoor fun with your family. Blessings, xxo, Susie

    1. Girl you have that right...we will do the impossible for our children. LOL I still thank God for Kathy getting such an awesome job and very nice safe area apartment. Also I remember to thank Him for seeing that the cat arrived safely and healthy. That was a long car ride. A lady a couple towns to our west does pet transporting...bless her heart. Oh it cost as much as my daughter taking a round trip flight, but so worth it to her. I did enjoy my Easter resting from a day of of yard chores on Saturday. But had a pleasant coffee visit with my oldest daughter. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  12. Hi Susie..just thought I would check to see if you were posting again..Happy to see that you are..Welcome back..
I find cats very easy to take care of..much better than dogs...unless, of course, they are sick..I guess I have been fortunate..They are also less expensive vet wise..I keep mine indoors so the only shot she gets is Rabies and an annual visit..
    ENjoy your week..

    1. Kathy got her Buddy cat at a shelter. She is his 3rd owner. I think he has digestive issues even then. He had to get a rabie shot update to travel. I just am so happy for them to be back together. I had tripped on the cat many times as I was not used to one being around. You know they are quieter than a dog too...so you do not always hear them behind you. I miss his face and how he loved being brushed..but not the litter or food smell. :) Blessings to you and your pets, xoxo,Susie

    1. Debbie, I think of you often. Hope all is well. I have not been able to load pictures for years now. That is one reason I need a new set up. I want to blog again. It's great to have it in the months we are stuck inside. If I do not find a cure for allergies, I may have to stay inside year round. Yikes. Hate this . Please take care . I will always remember you with love, for your special kindnesses during a tough time in my life. Blessings to you, xoxo love, Susie

  15. I so apologize for not visiting sooner sweet lady, I have been down the rabbit hole these past few weeks, but it tickled me to pieces to see you had popped in and left a comment. Great news that your daughter is once again settled, and has her little cat as her companion. Moving is so stressful. I hope your days have become kinder, and easier for you without Ted, he was the best.
Time is marching on, we have new great-grandbabies that keep us busy, it's hard to keep up....lol
Be well dear friend, and keep in touch,
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

  16. Hi there Susie, so glad you stopped in to see me! Yep, Hyams is a great place to eat, fun! So glad you loved Charleston. Maybe you can come back someday. I grew up eating fried green "maters". So that's one of my most favorite foods! I fry them up at home and also order them when out at a restaurant. Hope your week is going good. Is it Spring there yet and do you have flowers in bloom? (P.S.) I grew up eating fried squash as well, yum.
