That Time of Year....

The city park is decorated for the holidays. People in town donated most of the decorations. I gave a plastic snowman to my granddaughter.
I like seeing the green boughs and red bows on this white fencing. Today we got our first snow of this year. I don't mind saying, I am already over it.  LOL   Just do not enjoy he cold and the short days can be depressing. To much time inside.
I've been wondering where this little Christmas truck piece could be packed, but I won't look for it. I just can not seem to want to decorate for myself. I'll just try to enjoy everyone else's.

I think my daughter Liz, is having Christmas at her house this year. I do know Angie ,is hosting Thanksgiving.  I also know what kinds of pies will be served , as I sold them pies, through the American Legion. It was to help raise money for the veterans. I like helping the vets.

I am wishing all of you wonderful holidays filled with family time and lots of love. Go to your family gathering and let go of any old grudges or arguments.... life is short and those type of issues just weigh you down. So please enjoy life.XO

  3. We super enjoyed the post, as AIWAYS. Of course I love the old truck! I donate to the VETS my self. The USA has been good to me.
Oh and if only some people could realize what old grudges and arguments will do in the long run, twould be so nice.. I never in our younger loving family thought there would ever be such a thing, but ONE has come up.
BUT it is a wonderful season coming up, and hopefully life will be joyful like the season. Love you lady!

  5. Enjoyed your post. Yes, holding a grudge can sure make for sadness in a family. The decorated fence is so pretty. I haven't started any decorating yet, except for the fall things in my old cupboard. Guess I will change that after Thanksgiving. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    1. Thank you Missy. I am never going to have a big tree again. Too much for just me as you said. But a wreath and a few little tabletop decorations is good enough. Bless you, xoxo

  7. Hi, Susie! So glad I checked Blogger today! I have fallen way behind on keeping up. No Christmas decor here yet, though probably after Thanksgiving I’ll find the motivation. The boughs/bows on white fencing look very festive! Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving with your family!

  10. Awwww, Susie!! It's always so good to hear from you, and I always take a good feeling away from that gift. It's lovely to have our sweet ones around us for the holidays, and I know your gatherings will be wonderful.

And your post had some of almost everything that is Christmas, Sharing With, Helping Out, Getting Together, Brightening the World, Letting Go, and just finding within ourselves that inner Light to share. I wish you well and warm and so, so happy for this Blessed Season. r

    2. Merry Christmas. When I taught (started in later years), it was difficult to difficult. My family came every other T'giving and every other C'mas...So I had to be ready to do C'mas on T'giving weekend some years. I was not rushing the season; I was enjoying time with my family without rushing...they live in Greenwood (I moved to Florida near this family from Greenwood/Indy)...I have moved 34 times, and everywhere I go, people have such opinions about the holidays and when to do what. Why not enjoy T'giving with the splendour of Christmas all around us? Sounds like a plan to me.
Prayers dear girl. My son and family did the whole T'giving Organic meal for us...yum....daughter arrived that night, and we fixed a couple easy dishes for us. Christmas, his family will do the same...she will be with her family in Greenwood/Indy...we have worked it out for 30 years...and I never mind what others do. Prayers

    3. Susie, I keep wanting to ask you WHY do you like the Mockingbird book? I taught it when I taught middle school one year before I taught high school and university. I ask everyone about this/ No reason. Just curious.

    4. When I was little, we had no books at our house. A bible and new testament. When my mother divorce my father , her lawyer 's wife became our guardian angel. She gave me that book and it has always been special to me. Mrs. Russell also taught me man things . Always took me to church and church camp. I learn about the bible, social skills, and even how to swim at camp. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
