Looking Up....

I  Loved this beautiful little yellow butterfly on this burgundy colored petunia.  He was moving slowly on this plant, so I got a picture of him.
Over the weekend, I went to visit with my daughter Karen and her children Savannah and Skylar. I took my sister Pam in the aqua shirt. Skylar is in a wheelchair to get around.
This is him lying on the sofa, when I first got to their house.  His arm has this removable cast thing.
This is his foot...it's still gory to me.  Swollen and bruised...with pins sticking in each toe but the little one. That gave me the heebie-geebies.
I have had a busy weekend . The last couple days running with Ted and enjoying ourselves. So I guess, I will call that my vacation. I truly have not had a vacation in years. I am beyond ready . After this month maybe I can spend some time with my daughter in the northern part of the state. She loves to junk also. None of my other three daughters like junking and crafting like Kathy and I do. :)
Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend.  The Pork Festival tents are being set up in our town. The fest goes on from Thursday thru Saturday evening at midnight. Crafts, food, art shows, talent shows, picking Miss Pork Cuisine, and some musical groups. Fair rides for the kids and a couple for adults even. I will meet my daughter Angie on Friday . We will walk through the festival and have lunch . We have been doing this for years. I'll take my camera. :):)
Wishing you a great day. XO

  1. I apologize for not knowing about Skylar. Life has been keeping me away form blogging. I went way back to see what happened. There only a few things that I speak out on and don't care if people don't care if they don't agree. Let's see flu shots, child abuse and ATVs. I just hate them. My cousin that died of H1N1 lost her first husband to an ATV accident. He was a responsible rider but hit a guide wire that amputated his leg. He bled to death before the squad could reach him. Now mny use those yellow tubes on them so they can be seen. Then about a year before that a best friend of mine lost he 14 year old. They had gone away on a short vacation. Her son was staying with his aunt. For some reason he decided to go for a spin even though he knew he wasn't supposed to. He was on a road that was curvy and hardly ever traveled. Well a neighbor didn't see him and hit him. He also died. So you tell your grandson and his parents to burn that thing. I am glad he had a helmet on burn that thing. Sorry to rant. Hope you are well. Sorry I have been gone. Life seems to keep piling up on me.....but....I am doing fine. xo

    1. Debby, I hate those ATV also. I have heard of many horror stories. Right before this happened a 16 yr.old died from an accident on one of these and he had had safety training. I told my daughter get rid of all those riding things that make boys want to drive fast. Skylar will be late getting his licenses now and I am happy about that.LOL. Hand in there Debby, I know you are going thru a lot at this time. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Laurie, I wish my daughter that is so like me lived closer...I told her we would have our own shop for selling revamped things, and crafts. :):) Our boy is a tough one and he is ready to get back to school. I just do not want him on any of those ATV any more. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Yes, you take that much needed vacation and spend with your daughter. We haven't had a vacation in a few years. We always took an annual beach trip with the kids but now that they have kids they have their own traditions. Maybe next year. We have taken a couple of weekend off, but with the move this year we couldn't. It's home again this weekend. Will share more later. Love your butterfly photo.

  6. Sorry for Skyler.... I wasn't aware of his accident. But have lived through the horror of it. 1989 Youngest daughter was 18, Senior at her High School...on Good Friday, she and a friend were driving too fast, no seat belt and she ended up hanging on to life. 30 days in ICU, 9 mo. in the hospital...her right leg almost ripped off...almost had to have amputated at the hip.....But God saved her, and after many skin crafts, she had a deformed leg, but it's hers and she had come out of it a wonderful beautiful strong woman, now at 43 she had a little boy, who is 2 now. God is good...All the time, and then some.
    Hugs and Kisses.

  10. I hope Skylar heals quickly, what a scary accident. I'm not at all fond of those things they love to ride, too many accidents and tragedies have occurred. My son's old friend from H.S. died from his injuries when riding at night and went into a ravine. He was so smart and was going to med. school and had a promising future. Motorcycles are another one I don't like. My daughter rides once in a while with her boyfriend. Thankfully, he's very careful and they only ride in the daytime. I'll be quiet now. :)
    The festival sounds fun, enjoy!

    1. Thank you Cheryl. I told my daughter to get rid of all those riding things...since Skylar will be driving a car soon...well maybe...he was to get his licenses but this accident will put him behind on his required driving hours...that doesn't make me sad at this time. :) I used to ride motorcycles with my husband ...but that was many years ago...when there was much less traffic and no cell phones. Seems scarier now. Blessings , xoxo,Susie

    1. Kay, Around here there are these yellow and white butterflies and I think they are local with our crops. LOL. I do not know they are very common here though. I think Skylar will do well once he heals and can do PT....he will need to do as the drs say or he could limp . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. There has to be some fun in life. You grab those moments when they happen and cherish them.
I would be afraid to go junking because I know I would quickly be addicted. It happened to with comic books and then models of vintage cars. All of which are now packed away in a closet. Oh I forgot about guitars.
I'm glad Skylar is on the mend. He seems to have a good attitude.

So I still have desires to see and do things before I am too broke down. LOL. Yes, Skylar is doing much better. I expect him to do as the drs. say. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  16. This picture of the yellow butterfly and flower is beautiful, Susie. You know, I've never got a good pic of the butterfly because they fly away too quickly. Poor Skylar. I do hope he heals soon. He looks like such a trooper.
