The sun shined today. Oh boy I loved it. My daughter Karen and her children came today. We visited for a while then we all went to dairy queen for lunch. Karen called Angie and had her join us. What great fun it was too. Skylar is healing very well and close to being his old self. I sat out side here on the porch in the sun after they had gone home. Yes, it was cold and I wore a coat....but the sun was warm on my face. Even though this snowman was next to me. LOL. He is going to storage tomorrow.
I pulled all the fake poinsettias out of the containers, but left the evergreen pieces. Took all the plaid bows off things also. You can see how pretty the skies were today. Love it when the sun shines. It's been cloudy since Christmas day. Hope you enjoyed a nice day also. XO
HI Susie, Happy New Year to you, sounds like you've started it off perfectly. Our sky looks like yours and sitting inside where we get the winter sun keeps me warm. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!ReplyDelete
Thank you Noreen. I thought today after the children left...that was a good day and I am blessed. Being with any of my daughters and /or their children just makes me smile. Then to have sunshine too. Extra good. I just now filled the bird feeders and it's plenty cold out now that the sun is setting. Bless you and yours, xoxo,SusieDelete
Susie, you're so lucky that you can just call your daughters and they will come right over. I live in the same town as my brothers and sister, so I know how it is being close to family. But my daughters live in another town (not too far away though). I bet the sun felt so good shining on your face when you were sitting on your porch today having the cold weather that you are. It's been pretty cold here too.ReplyDelete
Thank you for your compliment on my bird photos. They sit still for me sometimes, but other times fly away much too quickly.
Have a peaceful weekend, dear Susie.
Sheri, My twins live 36 miles away and Kathy lives a two hour drive away. ...but Angie my oldest lives in Tipton, our hometown. I wish all my daughters lived closer. #6 miles is a big distance but it's far enough in bad weather . I had to fill our bird feeders today...they were empty and the birds just were not coming around. I miss them. Hope your weekend is nice and enjoyable. It's just great to have sunshine. I have already counted the days till spring and it's 78 more days. That should go fast enough. Blessings sweet girl, love you, xoxo,SusieDelete
We had sunshine today too (Oklahoma). Sunshine makes all the difference - I agree!!ReplyDelete
I always prefer the sunshine. It doesn't have to be hot or warm...but sitting in the sun when it's cold , you will still feel it's warmth. Glad you had some sunshine too...it's not been the best weather...but I have thanked my Lord that we did not flood here...even though there were warnings for days. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo,SusieDelete
Oh, I love that shade of the blue sky.ReplyDelete
Does the snow man has to go in the storage? Awe - - - Winter has just begun. You know your plans though. Just had a thought and I gave it a try. Can't help but love a snow man.
Happy New Year to you and yours !
Munir, That is one of the reason I like seasonal decorations....I could leave this snowman out all winter. I normal do. But I sneak and count the days till spring and it's only 77 days away. So I will spend the rest of this winter thinking of things to do in spring. Best to start with everything put away that can be. I want to transplant some old plants and I want to plant another tree or two this year...plus you know the hickory tree out front will have to come down before spring..best while the ground is frozen. Blessings to you and yours for a healthy new year. xoxo,SusieDelete
What a lovely day. We had sunshine today - and a high of 38 - but it was beautiful.ReplyDelete
JoAnn, The sunshine keeps my spirits up lifted. Even if the temperatures are freezing, I can bear it with sunshine. Blessings to you, xoxo,SusieDelete
That sounds like my kind of day...some of everything. Good to get the sun on your face for a little while every day.ReplyDelete
Vee, I will even lift my face to the sun going to get the mail , if it's sunny out. One day I may trip walking like that. LOL. After being with my girls and grands yesterday, I felt happy the rest of the day. Hope your day was a good one also. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
Oh, I love days like this too. The dun does wonders for ones soul!! How blessed you are to have your daughters to visit with!! I miss mine so much....(Georgia is s long ways from Iowa!) but am so thankful for my son...ReplyDelete
Have a good week!
Gert, I wish our children wouldn't move so far away....but it seems some like to venture. My daughter that is more like me lives the farthest away. She and I both love crafting and junking....the other three, no so much. I keep telling Ted we need to sell the house and buy a camper and a long electrical cord....then go visit each kid and plug in for a couple weeks. Just keep moving from one kid's house to the other. LOL. Wishing you good days, love, SusieDelete
Your day looks so pretty. How wonderful that you were able to spend part of it with your daughters. I know that was a special time for you.ReplyDelete
Kathy, Yesterday was a fun day and after the children went home, I still felt like my spirits were lifted. I guess after those cloudy days and then some sunshine and kid time...it was like a mini vacation for my soul. Blessings to you, xoxo,SusieDelete

My snowmen go away some time this week. We had sun today, though it was cold and so enjoyed a walk this morning. Wishes for a very happy and healthy new year.ReplyDelete
Carol, I can deal with winter cold as long as I get some sunshine every now and then. Hope our winter isn't nasty now that it has started to get colder. Blessings to you, xoxo,SusieDelete
Cold weather is finally here after unseasonally warm temps. I like the change of seasons but not the single digit cold.
Happy New Year!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Debbie, WE are to have some flurries. It sure was nice to see the sun on Saturday. Bless you, xoxo,SusieDelete
I sometimes sit out on our front porch in he winter all bundles up! If its not too cold out! looks like you have decent weather still there. We still have not had much snow. that could change today though! have a great day!!ReplyDelete
Viv, I do not mind my face being cold...it hurts my fingers if it's zero temps. But if the sun is out I can at least stand on the porch saying my prayers or sit in the sun for a few moments. We are to get flurries soon. xoxo, SusieDelete
Yes Susie..Even though it was cold, it was nice to see the sun for a change..Going to be in the teens the next several nights and not above freezing the next several days..Winter is finally here..ReplyDelete
Missy, It was good to have sun shine after so many gray days. I hope our weather can get back to normal...whatever that is. Blessings, xoxo,SusieDelete
I'm a few days behind in my reading but I am hoping you are still 'sitting in the sunshine!'ReplyDelete
