Yesterday morning there were eleven of us gathered for our brunch. Ten women and one brave man. LOL. Jim , is a gentle soul and seems to enjoy being with us.
This is the petunia, my daughter Karen gave me in memory of my mom...I have a perfect pot, but do not have it planted yet. Mommy would truly love this.
My emerald green hosta is doing well. I need to break it into two nice ones. More bang for your buck that way.
The clematis is full of buds. It will be beautiful full of purple blooms.
I did break this blue leaved hosta into fours a couple years ago. These are big leaves also, you can see by the wheels of the old lawn mower.
Lilies growing by the little water feature near the porch. Last year I wanted to stain this barrel...but I have yet to do it. I have painted all these cement balls before. They could use a face lift. :):) I better do it before the lilies get any bigger.
I hope all of you enjoyed your mother's day. I did have time with my daughters and grandkids. Not all of them ....but received many good wishes on the phone. It seemed so different wishing my granddaughter Lynzie, "Happy Mother's Day"...she's a mommy since December.
Yes, we are getting rain again today. I am not sure if we have enough old skids to make an ark...maybe a raft.:):) Ted better get busy. LOL. Hugs to all of you. XO
Heheeee it seems that it was a great dayReplyDelete
Kuni, I did have fun. It's always great to catch up with friends. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Looks like a fun day. Didn't know you could divide Hostas like that.ReplyDelete
Janet, It was a fun time with my classmates and catching up. Yes, I did split the blue hosta. Dig up your hosta and you can split it with your shovel. I would water with some miracle-gro . I would love some of the smaller ones also. Hope you are getting sunshine.. It rained again today..but the sun popped out for a few minutes here and there. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
It's so nice to see green grass and plants. It's still too cold here. :-(ReplyDelete
Linda, It's hard to know what one day will be like till the next. It rained like crazy this morning, and on/off this afternoon, then some sun here and there. I have been wearing sweaters. LOL. Blessings to you . xoxo, SusieDelete

How nice to get together with all your old classmates!! Love that purple petunia, that's one of my favorite colors - and the smell in the evening from the purple ones is just heavenly!ReplyDelete
Now I will have to find out if I can smell this petunia. I do remember my MIL having pot of petunias on her steps each year and yes, they did smell so good. I loved that scent. I am hoping you and the rest of us can start enjoying our outdoor plants. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
p.s. I am anxious to see your yard after you are finished planting. :):)
But you didn't say, what year your graduated from HS!!!! ,-)ReplyDelete
I graduated from HS in 1954. And from college, in 1958. :-)

I got my big old diploma in 1970. I did get 4 years college to be in the skilled trades at G.M. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete

Lovely flowers, and enjoyed your explanation of each. Your brunch looks nice and hat's off to the brave gentleman.ReplyDelete
Sounds like a nice Mother's Day too.
Wanda, One of the ladies said something to a gentleman who was leaving and had sat near us. He said we sounded like a hive of bees. I laughed so hard. It was a fun time. Hope you are having a great week. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, I love your plants; this is the first house I've had a hosta in and I enjoy it. How fun to gather with friends from years ago. Glad you had a good Mother's Day!ReplyDelete
Noreen, You can split that hosta to have more, if it's a big one. I did have a great mother's day, and the time with friends is fun. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
How cool that you classmates gather for brunch. What fun you must have and, obviously, Jim is a sweetheart. Glad that you had a good Mother's Day...I did, too. If I could get a hosta to live around here, I'd be sure to divide it up.ReplyDelete
Vee, When we have had class reunions, Jim has always been in charge of pictures. He seems to have every picture taken at school.LOL. I know that hostas are shade loving plants, they come in many colors of rgeen and even combo colors. many sizes also. They will get a purple flower on a skinny stalk later. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
So glad you had a good Mothers Day.ReplyDelete
I've never tried to grow hostas..too hot, I think.
We are having our 60th class reunion in July..so many of our classmates have passed away so I am going to try to go to this last one.
Glad you had fun with all your friends...
BJ, I do think Texas may be pretty hot for hostas. I am glad you attend your class reunions. Every one is nicer than when we went to school. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a wonderful get together with friends and I love the petunia -always a favorite! Happy Tuesday!ReplyDelete

The brunch with your classmates always sound delightful, Susie. I wish we did something like that. The petunias are so lovely, and such a beautiful purple color.ReplyDelete
Wishing you a good week, Susie.
Sheri, Maybe you could contact some of your school chums and make a lunch date. Some of the closer ones might like that. I did get that petunia planted. :) Blessings, love, xoxo,,SusieDelete
I love seeing the things YOU see! All that rain has sure turned everything an emerald green!ReplyDelete
I was with my two daughters all weekend and again today! Amber and I took in a movie this afternoon and then Summer came over after work and brought two movie rentals and had dinner here
I wasn't finished with my comment but my silly iPad won't let me correct anything! Anyway....its been wonderful spending some quality time with my daughters! I know how you love yours!ReplyDelete
Linda, I do like to walk around my yard to see how things are coming along. I know you have been enjoying your daughters. I love that about us. LOL. You have raised some beautiful children, so have I . That's one thing about my own mom...she was not the greatest mommy but she would beat us to death to keep us out of trouble...it pretty much worked too. LOL. I always felt like I wanted to be good without a spanking, dang. Blessings, love you, xoxo,SusieDelete
