Butterflies & Statues.....

This was taken in the butterfly exhibit. Which was hot and steamy. I think there were too many people in here for the butterflies to land for any length of time.
This kind of looked like a zebra stripping.
Lots of those sweet plants that butterflies love and water features too.
This was a case of chrysalis 'hanging to hatch . I did see a butterfly that was just opening his wings on the bottom  of this case.
Outside the exhibit was a huge caterpillar to sit on. I was getting ready to have my picture taken and this little red haired girl wanted to sit by me. Her father just put her next to me for our picture. :):) Her shirt was wet from playing in the water fountains. Look at her beautiful hair.
Here I am driving Savannah in the zoo bus. LOL.  These picture boards are so much fun.
Lots of painted frogs and some pigs for children to play on .
This alligator statue if near the water fountains.  Kids crawl all over these statues.
I loved this one of three elephants together and the middle one squirting a stream of water. These are at  the Columbia zoo/park in Lafayette, Indiana.  The grounds of this area were so clean and well cared for.   I would love to return one day.
Today is not nearly as hot as the weekend was. The sun is shining. We are headed to the stores for some groceries and Ted needs new sneakers. Then this afternoon we will do some weed whacking and Ted will mow. Wishing all of you a great Monday to start your new week. XO

    1. Linda, I am kind of partial to girls and red hair....so I thought the little girl was a beauty. She reached for me to lift and I asked her if I could get my picture with her, he said yes and pout her next to me. She was just rubbing that caterpillar. I loved it. I just do not like grocery shopping any more...when I was real young it was like a treat to go,cause I didn't get to go anywhere. LOL. Blessings to you and Bob. xoxo, Susie

  7. What a fun day you had at the Butterfly exhibit, Susie. I've always wanted to get a good pic of the butterfly, but haven't yet. This one DOES look like a zebra butterfly. What a cute caterpillar outside for everyone to rest on. Love this picture of you, Susie. That painted frog is so pretty and artistic.

    1. Sheri, I would get near enough to get a good picture and some kid would go by and scare it up. LOL. It would be nice to be in the netted area alone. That little girl with the red hair..oh my gosh, I could have just hugged her. Her father sat her with me and said it was okay to take the picture. :) They had all kind of different paint jobs on the frogs and even some cement pigs too. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

    1. BJ, Glad you came by. I loved that little zoo. There was a show right before we got there. It was called Snakes Alive..they showed snakes. The girl had one in a case and told us to come back at 2:00. I asked what kind of snake was in the case and she said boa constrictor, and his name was Jules Squeezer. LOL It's that cute. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
