Sunday & First Day of Spring......

Sunday was a pretty day . In the high 40's. We had a quiet day . Filled all the bird feeders. I cleaned the porch of leaves and pine needles.

As the sun was setting , I was thankful for a slow day here.
The sun is setting in a new spot, with Spring here.
The little child statue holding a jar with a firefly, lit up in the evening.
This is the bright spot of yesterday. Ted took me to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  This is just inside the door. Lots of colorful gifts to buy. I should have taken a picture of our lunch. It certainly was good.
This is our first day of spring. We had thunder storms, early and again in the afternoon.
This is what I bought on my trip to Horton's on Saturday . A small garden flag, cute and funny. A kitchen towel .

I loved this coffee scoop. So cute and sturdy. I like the cardboard cup shaped holder. I thought that was a clever package.
A print of some bluebirds and a small love sign. I did not buy much. I will be going back for some plants as the weather warms up. That might be awhile.
Wishing all a great day. XO

  6. Oh, I love that coffee scoop, it's got such a unique design. Your porch looks so pretty with all the rain, Susie. You know, it's raining hard here today and maybe more this week. I wonder if it's the last pour of the season? That little child statue with the firefly is so cute. Nel told me that she sees fireflies (lots of them) in Georgia at night. That's the one thing she'll miss when she moves back to California. It's nice that you and Ted go out to lunch now and then. : )

    Have a lovely week, Susie.

    1. Sheri, I like for it to rain 1/2 each week in summer...no more. I want that sunshine. LOL. I am eager to be able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. My daughter bought the little girl holding the firefly in a jar for me. She got herself a little boy. Hope you are having a good week. I am doing some cleaning, sorting, and getting ready for full spring time. :) Blessings to you, love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Alexandra, Hope you are starting your week off with a smile. I am enjoying a bit of sunshine here and there. Today was pretty but the lawn man came and you know you can be in the grass then. But it was soggy from Monday 's rain. I am eager to get out some of my porch pretties for the year. The little statue is one of my favorites. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diana, We are old friends. I thought that Sweet Tea was my first ever commenter, but when I looked back it was you ! :):) Besides I think you have some of the same humor I have...as I told you a long time ago, my brothers would not want us both around at the same time. LOL. I do like looking at all that stuff at C.B. Blessings for a fun day. xoxo, love Susie

  10. I love noticing throughout the year the difference in where the sun rises and sets. Somehow it's always exciting to see it rise higher and higher in the spring.

I'm glad you had such a pleasant day out and I love that new tea towel!

    1. Dewena, Certain times of the year I can get some sunrises. I got a good one yesterday because of the fog. I like when the sun sets thru the woods in back. I like that tea towel because it measures 30 Inches by 30 inches . I use it as a topper over the table cloth. Blessings, hope it's spring like there. xoxo, Susie

  11. Hi Susie, you have such a pretty porch and view! I have been noticing, too, that the sun has moved much more to the right. And I haven't been to Cracker Barrel in quite a while and was just wondering the last time I drove by what they have in the gift shop. It's always fun to explore there as well as eat! :) Take care and enjoy your day.

  12. Spring has sprung.....How I wish we had a Cracker Barrel by us. I love that store, and visited several when we were in Texas many years ago. I love the coffee scoop. I have a sign over my coffee station that says the same thing. I think I need to make another visit to Texas...HaHa
