A Long Week......

It's been a long week for us  and it's only Friday. This is Wednesday evening's storm coming in from the southwest. Dark and windy with  lightening. Thankfully it didn't last too long and no hail...that's good.
It was scary enough, that I sent pictures to my own weatherman, grandson Korey, in Utah.  He advise that we be safe. :):)
One day this week we saw fields of golden rod....not good for people with allergies.
Checked on the baby birds again. All three are hatched. I better  look at them again soon...you know they will be growing like mad. Always hungry, aren't they?
This was a milestone. Hahaha, Ted's GMC truck's odometer rolled over to three hundred thousand miles. His mechanic tells him he can get another hundred thousand out of it. Oh dear , I know he will try.  This is the first time I have actually paid attention to that "apply brake to shift from park"...do you think people really read that?
Oh I just can't help myself ...You need to read Max's shirt...It says, promoted to big brother. LOL
And that seems to suit Luke just fine. He looks to be smiling about it all. Thanks for all the wonderful well wishes and compliments on my post of Luke's arrival to our family.
I am hoping we all have  a great weekend. Thus far, we are predicted to have heavy rains and chances of bad storms.  Be safe. XO

    1. Karen, We always get our oil changes and rotate the tires...then there's been many other somewhat expensive things done to our vehicles too. All still nice than payments. LOL. I am loving our little boys. :):) Blessings, be safe this weekend. xoxo, Susie

  4. Storms will be here for us tomorrow all day. I'm glad I don't have to water the yard. Love your photo of the little bird nest. So sweet. Even sweeter is Max with his tee shirt and the new kid on the block, Luke. The field of golden rod is so pretty.
Gee, I always thought putting your foot on the brake while shifting was a given. Who knew there was an actual instruction. I am hoping for 200,000 miles on our Toyota, but 300,000 would be even better!

I'm sitting in the sunshine as I write with the chirping birds and water fountain splashing as my background music. It's a good day to cut bouquets and set up for my party tomorrow however it promises to be a stormy day! I am your opposite! I love dark, wet weather! Yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a nut!
Hope you and Ted have a good weekend!
    Love and prayers from Texas!

    1. Linda, Soft gentle rains do not bother me...it's too many gray days and maybe too much rain for our sump pumps...I always worry about flooding. I love hearing birds sing and chirp. They are a joy. I also like to hear our water feature by the porch. :):) I am praying your family gathering is a fun time . Blessings to all , xoxo, love, Susie

  6. First of all, be safe this weekend. I'm a sucker for dark stormy skies. I think they are just beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, that's one handsome baby boy you have there. I love his name, too.

  7. 300,000 miles! Wow that's very impressive. I have a 9 year old car and I haven't cracked 70,000 yet.
After a week of crappy weather the nice weather is finally here.

    1. Boston Boy, I bet those are work miles on your car. LOL. That's the miles I used to put on a car. Ted just trust this truck of his to last a life time. It's almost scary. We do get oil changes and tire rotating done all the time. Well you know every 3,000 miles. You are getting sweet days and we are in for some nasty heavy rain...that might cause flooding. Blessings to you and Arlene., Have a great weekend. xoxo, Susie

  10. hi Susie, and happy weekend! I'm pretty sure your "goldenrod" is actually canola. It is a common crop here, used for seed oil. So, breath away! New little baby does look like he's smiling. We had some big rain here a couple of days ago, as well, with very foreboding clouds. -Jenn

  11. Susie, first of all congratulations on that beautiful baby boy!! I think he does look like Max....that is so precious. I pray mommy will be okay. She will certainly be busy...smile... So glad their daddy is so good with Max. Also love the fact that you have a nest of baby robins!!!

By the way, I always put my foot on the brake when I take a vehicle out of park...lol Guess my dad taught me that when I drove a stick shift, and it's stuck with me through all these years...ha!

    Blessings,
