The sun has shined this weekend. Making me smile , even with my stuffy nose. You can see the weeping willow is leafing out.
Our crabapple tree is ready to bloom. Oh look at that sky.
Ted did roll the lawn yesterday. Plans on mowing again today. The man is a mowing machine. LOL
My daughter Karen sent this photo of a bouquet she picked from her flowerbed, for her daughter Savannah. I am telling you some times we milk those birthdays and Savannah certainly has this one. She has celebrated all of March and even now on the 2nd day of April ,is going to the movies with her mom. One more outing before school starts tomorrow. Today is the last day of their spring break.
I think Savannah's brother Skylar worked thru his spring break. :) Savannah and her parents had adventures. Emma and her parents did also. I think there's about 8 more weeks of school in this year.
I did get to sit out on the porch yesterday and write a letter to one of my sisters. She doesn't do emails or texting...so I just write to her lots. Yes, we talk on the phone, but I still write and so does she.
Wishing all of you a great Sunday. XO
Sunny pictures indeed! I love the sunshine it really brightens my mood! Have a great week Susie!ReplyDelete
Pilar, Me too honey, I love sunny days...well if it isn't like 80's or 90's LOL. Sun does lift my spirits. Hope your weekend was enjoyable . Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Glad you are having pretty weather. It does wonders for my mood to see the trees and flowers blooming. Get well soon!ReplyDelete
Karen, When I see the flowering trees, I always think of my mother. She would see one and say, "Oh I wish that tree was in my yard." I told her once she would have to own a forest, for all the trees she wanted. LOL. Hope you had a great weekend . Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Sunday dear Susie on this glorious spring day! Your corner of the world looks bright and sunny!ReplyDelete
Betsy, It's has been very nice here this weekend . I even sat outside. :):) Loved that. This coming week is more rain. That is one reason our grass is so green now. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Flowers from someones garden are so nice. Beautiful bouquet. Yeah for Sunshine...we have a lot of it today.ReplyDelete
Wanda, I am glad my daughter made her daughter a bouquet. I saw some dandelions and thought of the times my girls would make bouquets of them for me. You had to love them, they were picked with love. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I've got a lot of catching up to do. I've been on vacation. Sunny SUNNY Florida! I'll be posting about it this week. I posted our picture on my blog tonight. Just thought I'd let you know. I know that seems forever ago. I LOVE that you write letters to your sister. I hope you keep them. I wish I had some of the letters I received when I was younger. Especially the ones to my Great Aunt and my two cousins. We wrote all the time. I think we should all celebrate our birthdays all month long. My sister does! Chat later!ReplyDelete
Cindy, I did not know you were going back to Florida. This weekend has been very nice, hope you enjoyed it. I have letters from the lady that was my guardian angel and letters from people I have saved. I save some cards too. I even have a few letters from my brothers when they were in service. How can we let things go. Hope we have a wonderful April. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Did you ever think you'd use the words "still write"? That's like "still cook" or "still read," to me---and the feel of that real fountain pen, flowing out your words and thoughts to someone you care about---that's just the loveliest part. And that they "write back," is a great blessing and boon. I think we all need a "Doesn't do e-mail" person in our lives, if for nothing else, to keep us aware of the lovely moments of stillness between words and thoughts, as we send and receive in that age-old way which they keep alive and we so easily forget.ReplyDelete
We dash down so many letters and spaces on the fly, with great gulps of information and doings and sharings, like we're out to get it all out there before we forget. But there's the quiet moment on the porch, with the little table holding pen and ink and paper---oh, all those lovely papers, with their different textures and colours and feel---those moments are akin to worship, on a small plane, I think, contemplating and putting down the slow, even lines to be read and savored and kept long beyond the bottle of ink and the billions of bytes cast into the air by our flying keyboards.
What a lovely thought you've conveyed this morning, beyond the Spring weekend and those incredibly blue skies we enjoyed. I think I'm going to go take down my (real, hold-it-in-your-hand) address book and get out one of those packs of the Spring floral paper. Even in here, in a warm chair with a cup of tea, it will evoke Summer Sunshine to send out a note or two to those I love.
You, too, Indiana Friend,
Rachel, You are so eloquent. I loved reading your comment. I love great speakers and writers. I know that when I worked mainly with men...I spoke much like them...yes, even cussed. I try to break myself of that habit quickly after retiring...but oh sometimes the bad words fly. LOL. Basically , I am a good person. :):) I laugh as I write that, why? Do I doubt myself? Or what others preceive as bad? When I write to my sister..we write of our memories that could tie into today events or thoughts. It's nice to get "real" mail in the box and walk down the drive to reach in the mailbox and see what is there...Some times it is those hairy black spiders...goose bumps on my scalp just writing that. :):) Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, I wanted to stop by to tell you how much I appreciate your prayers for my surgery last Monday. Diana posted a prayer request on her blog and I am full of gratitude! I am slowly recovering but wanted you to know how very much I appreciate you thinking of me. :-) I love weeping willows they have always been one of my favorites and everything in Spring, all the new awakenings is my favorite time. Have a wonderful week!ReplyDelete
Jill, I am so thankful that you are recovering and doing well. I do believe in the power of prayer...the more prayers the better.:)Please take care and enjoy your springtime. Blessings and hugs, xoxo, SusieDelete
Your post today gave me such an inspiration to post about the joys of "real writing," that I just dashed down a great long comment, and I thank you for the lovely compliment.
I just got going and the words flew, so I posted it and some thoughts about writing-with-a-pen on LAWN TEA just now, and linked to this one, as well.
Thank you for your kind words, and I do hope that we may meet someday.
Rachel, I hope we can meet also. It would be great if bloggers had a convention for each area of the U.S. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie! What beautiful photos! I so enjoy your blog. Have a happy Monday! xoReplyDelete
Thank you Pam. I love showing sunshine photos. :):) Today has been busy for us. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, that's nice that you wrote your sister a letter. Sometimes people just like getting notes and cards in the mail, and since she doesn't do e-mail, that's even more special getting something in the mail. I bet it was nice sitting on the porch looking out at Ted's freshly mowed lawn. : ) It looks so green and groomed. Your blossom trees are blooming later than ours here.ReplyDelete
Have a beautiful week, Susie.
Sheri, I love getting mail in the post. I think there nothing better than walking to the mailbox , you know it's some junk and bills , but then there may be that little note or card....that just makes my heart smile. It was nice to sit out. Oh by the way...Ted is mowing again today (Monday). lol...He's a good man. I'll get a picture. Blessings, love, xoxo, SusieDelete
Our trees are leafing out a bit..Still in the bud stage actually..Letters seem to be a thing of the past..I enjoy getting things in the mail..Have a good week..ReplyDelete
Missy, I saw some trees today with leaves almost totally opened. It looked so pretty. I love getting letters, cards and magazines in the mail. :) Hope you enjoy a nice week also. It rain this Monday and is suppose all week...one report was possible snow on Thursday evening. Rats ! Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Your spring is looking pretty, Susie! I love that beautiful blue sky. Hope you feel better soon.ReplyDelete
Thank you Laura. I am feeling much better...not sure what the heck was wrong...I thought a cold..but it must have been sinus troubles. I do not even have a dr. now...he up and moved south. We can see a nurse , but why pay her to tell me to see a dr. and then pay him. I hate our our drs. have become scarce in this area. Glad you have a good dr. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Ahhh. Letters. So sweet. I have always enjoyed reading old letters and nobody writes anymore. When I was first married, that was the joy of my day to find letters in the mailbox. Your sister is blessed to have you sit down and write to her. I do send cards to people.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, I remember when people took pride in good penmanship. I love receiving mail of any kind...well maybe not junk mail. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, I love that you still write to your sister! No one does that anymore. Glad you had a sunny day. We have had some nice days, but chilly today. Our Crabapple will be blooming soon too. Can't wait! Hope you continue to feel better. Spring break started today for our grands. Our 16 year old Jordyn got all 4 of her wisdom teeth pulled.ReplyDelete
Hi Jann, My sister writes back which is nice also. I am better thank you. Oh your poor grandson, that is awful to have his wisdom teeth pulled on break. Wishing him well. Blessings , xoxo, SusieDelete
I so want some sunny days again! The weekend was great! I woke up to thunderstorms north this morning- looks like 1-2 inches here today. LOL on milking the birthdays! I still have the stuffy nose off and on, and now I think its gone into my chest. Probably for being on the mower in the wind...ReplyDelete
Tete, You sound like me. I am ready for some sunny days of being outside. My stuffy nose is getting better. I think it may have been a mild cold or just sinus whatever. Be careful if yours went to yours lungs. You sure do not want to be sick...I think after this weekend, things will be much better. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
