Saturday evening I wanted to walk around the yard . you can see the flag is about straight out from the wind.
This is the east side of the shop/garage , everything looks so green from some rains we had before this Sunday's rain.
Here it is the middle of October and the hydrangea has bloomed. Just two flower heads. I did not think it was going to bloom this year.
The mums are not blooming so boldly ....this yellow one is popping though..I just bought it this past month.
As I was headed out to take a walk , something was following me.
Something furry and curious. The stray cat "Stormy" Good news about her...the neighbor lady today said she wants to keep her for a barn cat...so it will be in a warm place this winter . She said she would feed her to keep her around. Good !!! Makes me happy.
It was gloomy and rainy most of Sunday, but near sunset , it cleared a little and gave us a pretty sunset sky. The sunshine today lifted my spirits. I sat on the porch and wrote my sister a letter. Let the sun shine on my face to enjoy the warmth of it...not the heat cause it was only 60 today.
Wishing everyone a good evening. Hope your Tuesday will be great. XO
I have a Hydrangea that he's two new blooms on it too..Looks like the same kind..Glad the kitty has a home..Have a nice evening Susie..
ReplyDeleteMissy, Maybe something is going on with our hydrangeas...Mildred said hers had two blooms too. I loved seeing them. Yes, I was happy my neighbor wanted Stormy the cat. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteEnjoyed the walk around your yard, although I do to get out and walk myself. Good that the kitty has found a home next door.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, With the cat next door, I will get to see it also. :) I just have a feeling it's going to be a community cat. I thought of you yesterday afternoon as I sat on my porch and wrote to my sister. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteBeautiful fall photos, Susie! Glad Stormy found a home!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I am thrilled the neighbors want the cat. My daughter posted lost n found on line and no one claimed it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAh....this reminds me of Maddie. She has been happy as a barn cat down at the ranch. Dean recently had coyotes attack his place and he lost some roosters and laying hens. I'm hoping they didn't get Maddie too.....
ReplyDeleteLinda, Just seeing how you had written Maddie, That was my mom's name. I think that is why my neighbor needs a barn cat the coyotes got most all the cat in this area one year. I have not heard them in the woods across the road , so I think they are gone. I am happy for this stray cat that I have called Stormy. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteWishing you a great evening Susie! I love looking at all the Fall pics! Hope to see you stop by my blog :)
ReplyDeletePilar, Yes, I will gladly visit your blog. I am always thankful for you to visit. Monday's temps were perfect. The cold mornings are hurting the plants here. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a wonderful post. I love your photos. So glad stormy found a home for the upcoming winter. Have a wonderful Tuesday. Blessings
ReplyDeleteGert, I have had some wonderful fall days on and off here. I want to enjoy each one as I know winter is not far away. I am happy the neighbors wanted the cat for the barn. Blessings to you, hope you are well. xoxo, Susie
DeleteI enjoyed seeing the pictures of your beautiful home and the walk that you took with a stray cat. How wonderful it to know that the cat will be taken care of this winter! Thank you for visiting my blog today and I'm happy to return the favor and to get to know you better! Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, My fall pictures are nothing like your beautiful colors. For one thing we only have one tree that give much color on our property, it's a maple. The rest just a touch of yellow, mostly brown and fall. . I loved your photos and will return to see more of your pics. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a great day, Susie. Do you have acreage? It's always so beautiful around your home.
ReplyDeleteWe had terribly rainy weather and gloom in Michigan Saturday and Sunday. :((
So happy kitty has a great place for the cold months, my first pup was named Stormy.
Your mums look gorgeous! I have a few for my front porch.

Blondie, We live on an acre of land here. But then the neighbors have plenty since they are the original farmers out here. I am so glad the neighbors wanted that cat. My daughter that used to live near Michigan , has a new job near Indy and has moved down here. She visited friends in Michigan this Saturday and said it was gloomy. I am so glad to have her back near all of us. The cold mornings are ruining my porch plants. :( I want to love every sweet day of fall...we know that winter is approaching. Blessings, hope you are doing well. xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe noticed a couple of blooms on our hydrangea too. So thankful that Stormy has found a good home. Your photos are always so pretty. Your home/yard are beautiful and so peaceful looking.
ReplyDeleteMildred, I am thrilled about the cat. I did not want to own another pet....because they can be expensive and worrisome., cause we take them to the vet for shots and such...so it's better to have this cat at the neighbor's barn. After Ted mowed this past week, our lawn did look so good. Oh it was very quiet here Saturday evening...just me and the cat.:) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThat reminds me, I need to get some mums for my porch.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad stormy will be safe and warm through the winter.
Lisa
Lisa, I am happy for the cat. I think the cold mornings is hurting the mums, especially the ones I bought for the porch. My fake flowers stuck into the potato vines looks good. :):) I still have some petunias in bloom. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, I can't believe how lovely it is when you step outside to take a walk. I really enjoyed this post, and it looks like you live somewhat in the countryside. I love Mums, and seeing your yellow ones made me smile. That's nice of the neighbor to keep Stormy and take care of her, as it will be cold for a stray cat this winter. It's so special that you still write handwritten letters, Susie. Do you still send out Christmas cards?
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
ps.....Yes, I remember those bags at Halloween with cut-outs for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Weren't those fun?
Sheri, It made me laugh to know you remember those grocery store Halloween masks. I live 5 miles out of town. Which at times is too far. LOL. I write to my sister Jeanie, who will never have a computer or cell phone. She refuses to learn technology of any kind. LOL. Yes, I do send out Christmas cards to many, many people....because sometimes that is our only communication thru the year. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteI'm glad Stormy will get a home. Hope your wind eases up soon! We had quite the rainy/windy weekend up here in Michigan last weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, My daughter visited friend in Michigan this past weekend and she said it was gloomy. She missed the perfect Saturday here in central Indiana. Oh me too...I am happy for the cat...I just did not want another pet. My girls all have pets here and there and I can love on them.:) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, I'm trying to leave this a second time. Blogger would not connect..Your property is so beautiful. Don't you just love neighbors? Our's took over our stray cat too. She is very happy over there but does come back to visit once in awhile..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, It came thru this time. I do not know what to think of technology at times. It's like it's still loaded with bugs. I love that the lady wants the cat...I just hopes she feeds it enough for it to stay there....till it's use to the barn. I wish it's owners would have been more responsible. We had a small fortune in our old cat and I do not want that responsibility so we just don't have pets. I can love on all the kids pets. LOL. Please stay safe during the fires there. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad Stormy has a home. If she were around here, I would have taken her in. Joe and I will get another cat sometime, just not now. We are trying to get the house fixed up first. None of my mums came back this year. I may have to buy a couple. My hydrangea bloomed about 6 weeks ago and was full of blooms. At least yours still bloomed this year.
ReplyDeleteKathy, This cat is weird, can't touch her around the neck she hisses and tries to bite. We have given her milk and food...cause I hate for it to be hungry...but I just don't want any more pets. Not here. I will be cutting my mums done in a month. I thinned them last year, but you could not tell it. LOL. So glad I got two blooms on my hydrangea. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou have such a beautiful yard and view! It feels great to get outside while it's still so green with flowers blooming. Refreshing! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, I love to get out in the yard. Today I dumped some of the potted plants. Saving the pots for next year. Ted picked up hickory nuts and I picked up pine cones. He dumped the nuts in the fire ring ...the squirrels will get them. I save the pine cones for Christmas décor. Hope you are enjoying some good days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYour hydrangea is blooming?? I'll have to look at mine. It bloomed earlier this year for the first time since we live here. I was thrilled! So happy for the community cat :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little walking buddy! I love my walks, too.
