I Am Happy.....

The local Cargills has been busy these past three weeks.  Many trucks and farm wagons unloading grains...corn and soybeans.  Makes it easier to drive in the country with the crops down. You can see at the corners.

We had storms and high winds on Sunday. I lost internet for a day. We just kept rebooting and doing the cables till it finally worked. We had had some power glitches  here...as we often do ...that's a big complaint of mine.
Yesterday morning was my dentist appointment. It was for the extraction of a fractured tooth.
Some times you can not save your teeth , no matter what you do. I get two cleanings and x-rays a year. I never let my teeth go if there's pain, I have it checked out.   Because I am a  whiney chicken when it comes to tooth pain.  I brush, I floss, I even use a special fluoride tooth paste.  I have baby brushes to brush my gums even.  Every kind of  dental product , to care for my teeth.
Yesterday the young dental surgeon had to take my fractured tooth out. He gave me plenty of numbing shots.  He was going to write a script for pain meds and I said NO.  I will just use over the counter Tylenols. It works for me. I have done very well so far. My jaw is swollen and I look as if I am chewing some tobacco.  Today I am so much better.  Thanks to all of you, for your kind words of understanding. I appreciate my blog family so much.  My own family all checked on me too and Ted took good care of me. :)
The sun is coming out and if it stays out after lunch, I am going out to walk a bit.  Happy day to all. XO

  1. I know about those tooth extractions. There is nothing worse than tooth pain. I have had a couple taken out. I never get pain pills either, even when I had four wisdom teeth taken out. Tylenol and rest works for me.

    1. Lisa, The tooth I lost had a root canal and a crown, is snapped from weakness, the dr. said. Strange. Oh good for you turning down pain meds. I wanted to heal as naturally as possible. I have done well today. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. I got to the office early, they were running early too...but by the time I got in one of the chairs, they were half hour late. LOL. But it only took about 15 minutes to get numbed and two minutes for the extraction....crazy. I did nap yesterday...oh that was so good. I slept last night also...it was the total release of stress that put me out. LOL. Blessings to you honey, xoxo, Susie

  6. I'm glad you feel better with all the dental work you had. It sounds like you take good care of your teeth. I just had about a year's worth of work myself. Storms and high winds already! When I got back from Jess' house, I got the worst sore throat, and just been taking it easy and trying to get well. I haven't been sick for a long time, and I always wonder where these nasty bugs come from. It was so bad one day that I could barely swallow. : (

Take care of yourself, Susie. You mean a lot to me. And just catching up on my favorite blogs today. : )

    1. Hi Sheri, I bet you got your bug at the hospital...that is where the germs are , that and schools. Take care. I am doing fine today. I guess I was really blessed with many prayers...my extraction went quickly, once the numbing took hold. Sheri, you are a dear friend to me too. We are blessed to have found each other thru the blog world. Blessings to all of you, xoxo, love, Susie

    1. Cindy, Once the dr. said "There it's out" I felt like a big deflated balloon, as the stress just hissed out of me. It's a wonder I didn't fly across the room. LOL I will be even better tomorrow. I am so thankful for the expertise of the dr. and nurse. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
p.s. I keep thinking one I will be fine in the dental chair...but I had two weeks to worry about this one. :(

  8. I am so sorry you lost a tooth, Susie. I have cracked a couple of teeth right in half down through the root over the years--and there is no fix to them. They were my farthest back molars so I opted to not replace them and have never regretted it.

Glad the crops are in so you can see again.

I drove through those storms on Sunday (leaving Carmel and driving North to Kocomo and then cutting over to Lafayette). The rain was horrible and I was so glad to finally get north of Chicago and out of the band of storms.

Hope you have a good week. xo Diana

    1. Diana, I have lost some molars due to wisdom teeth crowding..So I had a partial , then had to get a new one that never fit and I did not wear it...so I think the tooth that fractured was moving from line because it was striking the tooth above. No more. So I may get a new partial ...later. I am so tired of dental work and bills. I have insurance but still have to pay out of pocket. I honestly should have a movie star smile from all the money I have spent. LOL.
That was some heavy rains on Sunday. I always worry about the basement flooding. Ted never does. I want to move into town again. I told Ted to think about it. You went to Lafayette on hwy 26. You went thru Rossville where my Liz lives. :)
I am doing well. Feel so lucky not to be in pain. Blessings to you sweet friend, love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, I get a set of x-rays once and cleanings twice. I probably have radiation holes in my head. LOL. I have so much dental problems , I wonder if I am not being played by my dentist at times. LOL. I am doing amazingly well ..shhh, I better not brag too much. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Judy, Two weeks gave me plenty of time to get all worked up with a screaming case of nerves. LOL I feel so badly for anyone with tooth problems. I would never want a child to suffer. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  11. I've always taken care of my teeth, too....my mom taught me.
However, I have bone loss and am going to have to have upper plates pretty soon...all the teeth are getting loose. Bottoms seem to be ok.
I HATE false teeth but you do what you have to do....

    1. BJ, You know everything we do just isn't enough sometimes. Like what can a person do with bone loss and maybe having implants. Too costly and scary. I tell my grandkids to take very good care of their teeth. My daughter have learned with a few cavities. My daughter Angie has had but one cavity all her life and she just had a surgery to take infection from that tooth's nerve. Crazy !! I think if false teeth are fitted well, you can't really tell. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo, Susie

  12. Oh Susie, I'm so glad you are healing. I'm like you I do all those things with my teeth too. I really think it's worth it..

The trees weren't as pretty this year here either. Seems to have been the same all over the Midwest.
I am trying to get ready for winter. (Uggg) But a necessary evil I guess.

    Please take care.

    Blessings,
    Gert

  14. I hate dental problems and have always had a lot of problems with my teeth. But I do veneers now and you can save a tooth with only 1 wall left. I hope your swelling goes down and you are feeling better soon. Toothache can be the worse...
