Nice Weather....

Just out driving around and saw some pretty flowering trees.  This sure is looking nice.
Flowering trees all over. Some trees are starting to leaf out. It is looking as it should have about a month ago....well to my thinking. The skies have been very pretty.

This is last evening in our front yard.
I went to the eye doctor's yesterday. ( all drs. offices seem the same.)  My eyes were very dry and bothering me. The new dr. told me to use a baby shampoo to make a mild soapy water and wash my lash lines. Rinse with cool water , then use warm compresses ...do this once a day, for a week. Use eye drops 4 times a day.  I want to have my cataract surgery next month...so I need to get this rid of this dry eye.  Plus the new young dr. and I talked about that . My eye dr. probably will be retiring now that his youngest daughter is graduating college.
The farmers are getting into the fields around here. Putting ammonia down. The dust has been flying.  So I am not staying outdoors long. That would irritate my eyes that are already dry.
Wishing all of you a beautiful fun filled weekend.  Enjoy. XO

    1. Sami, It is an Anhydrous Ammonia...which is a nitrogen fertilizer. It is to put nitrogen back in the soil. Some times I wonder what all goes into the soil, the water, and our foods. But I only learned about once I moved to the country. Blessings for the weekend, xoxo, Susie

  2. Sorry to hear you are having eye problems. It seems Spring is late here too. Our trees are just starting to get buds and that should have happen weeks ago. Just too much cold weather. Good luck on the surgery.

    1. It seemed winter went on forever Betty. I am so glad it is warming up...but the forecast told people to cover their plants . I have not even put any flowers out yet this year. Thank you for commenting. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  3. Bless your heart! First your teeth and now your eyes! Aren't you on the young side for cataracts? I hope this new routine of washing and the eye drops does the trick for you.
It really is looking like your normal spring now! I know you have been yearning for this!
Wishing you and your Ted a happy weekend. We are about to leave and spend the next two nights over in Quadville with Amber and Mike and the 'babies' who are soon to be 6 years old!

    1. Linda, The doctor thought my eyes were irritated by the allergens...although I have never had them before..we develop allergies. I want the cataract surgery. I want to be able to see clearly again. My dr. (the Older one) told me ten years ago. I would be needing it in ten years. LOL. He was on the money with that. Oh and money is a biggie. It's not cheap. I have extra insurance for my teeth and my eyes. I did not dare drop that upon retiring.
It is looking like spring here finally..although it is to get chilly at night.
I find it so hard to believe the quads are six years old. Our babies grow so quickly. I see our Emma now at 14, long legged and so grown up...it makes me sad that time got away so fast ...I feel I have missed too much. Hugs everyone for me. Love all of you so much. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Hi Susie, The flowering trees are gorgeous. I've had dry eyes for many years and have used the baby shampoo for my lids. Also, my eye dr. told me that you can buy pre-moistened eye lid scrubs at Walmart...one is OcuSoft eye lid cleaners and another is Systane lid cleaners - they come in individual little packs and are so much easier than the baby shampoo. Systane makes a whole line of dry eye products. Hope that it helps and you feel better soon. Have a good day. xo

    1. Mildred, Thank you so much for this information. I have been using Systane eye drops. I did not know about the lid cleaners. I honestly had not heard of the baby shampoo treatments either. So far they seem to be helping. But I was wishing for a better result...I have little patience .LOL Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. I hope that you can get rid of the dry eyes soon as well. Seasonal issue due to the new life starting in nature. I have heard that baby shampoo is a great asset in this.

  6. Hi Susie! We've been waiting for cataract surgery for my MIL for months and months now. I'm not sure I understand how baby shampoo on your eyelids will help with dry eyes (?) I hope you get some relief. Do the drops help at all? -Jenn

    1. Jenn, Hope your MIL can get the surgery. The dr. said the shampoo won't harm your eyes but helps to unclog tear ducts..or something like that, that helps the moisture stay on your eyes longer to stop some of the dry eye . This symptom just started this spring as the tree are budding...so it could be tree pollen allergy. Hope it's simple. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Hi Susie,
I hope your eyes will start to feel better. I am loving that we are finally seeing Spring here in the midwest. You are further south and seeing much more budding of the trees etc. than we are. I hope they will start to bud up and flower soon for us too. Just nice to finally have decent weather. That winter was long and harsh. It was great to finally say good bye to that. happy Saturday.
    xoxo

    1. Kris, You are so right, that was a long winter. We somedays had better weather in between days of winter than we got in Spring. Glad it is being nicer out. But I still do not have any flowers in my containers. My eye seem to be improving..thank God. I want to be well enough to have the cataract surgery. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  8. We had a wonderfully beautiful day. About 72 degrees and sunny. It was like somebody finally flicked the spring switch.
Wouldn't adding ammonia to the soil help with stains?

    1. Thank you Saimi, My eye are improving. My mother used to say when it was spring and all the trees were flowered out, "Oh I wish I had a tree like that one in my yard. " I told her she would have a forest of trees., because she want one of everyone she saw. LOL. I miss that sweet mom of mine, she has all the beauty she wants in heaven. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diris, This coming week is really going to be warm here. I wish it could have stayed around 60 degrees for a bit...it will be high 70's and low 80's. That is very warm for this time. But at least I can sit on the porch. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. So sorry your eyes have been bothering you, Susie. I hope the eye drops help some. I'm glad you got to drive around and see some Spring in your area. The flowering trees are always so pretty this time of year. Yes, try to stay away from all the dust from the fields. That would irritate them even more. I appreciate our farmers very much, but I often wonder about all the produce being grown and the fertilizers.

    Have a wonderful week, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

  13. There is always something floating around in the air. Right now my allergies are very bad. Dry eyes also come with age. Good luck with that and your cataracts. Happy May

  14. That ammonia in the air would kick me into full gear. Good idea about the eyes. I may have to try that!
