Recently.......

Monday we were at Riverview for a follow up (?) . At least that is what it seems to be. The N.P. hematologist , wanted to see Ted and check him over. He has gained back 8 pounds of the 34 he lost. So that was encouraging.  I would like to think I am cooking well...but Ted is not a picky eater, so I can make him a meal with some protein and he is happy. .Ted told the N.P. that I was fattening him up for the next round of "whatever".
While Ted waited in the room , I went to the restroom and then to  the chapel.
So peaceful in here.  I love this sweet quiet place.  I can relax and pray. The ceiling is painted like the pretty blue sky with puffy white clouds.
Recently...Jake our grandson had a birthday. His sister Sierra made this beautiful strawberry cake.
Here Sierra  is trying to light the candles and her mom  (Angie) has been bowing the candles out as she lights them. Then Jake is saying, "come on sis, light the candles" We had dinner with all of them and it was a fun time. Lots of laughs. I did not get Jake's buddies in the picture or his dad. You all know sometimes , we just are in the moment and do not think of things , that we think of later.
Recently , another birthday. Savannah had a birthday and two parties.  These cupcakes were after the party she had before her actual birthday.
These are some of Savannah's friends who came to her party.  I do not know two of them but I do know sweet Shamika, wearing the bun hair- do. She has been friends with Savannah since they were toddlers. All these girls do is giggle.
Savannah's present from her parents was a weekend at some kind of animi convention and a concert to see Mumford and Sons.
Savannah's best friend was grounded so she missed out. This is Jeff and Karen, her parents...they sat with her .
I keep holding my breath. I know what is ahead of us in the coming months. I am grateful to all of you that have been praying for Ted and I.  It has helped us so much.  Ted is in great spirits. I pray his positive attitude will stay throughout . Thank you dear friends, for standing by our sides. XO

  2. What fun birthday parties for everyone. Too bad her best friend was grounded, though. LOL- that happens with teenagers, doesn't it?

I am praying for Ted AND YOU, as Ted enters his next phase of treatment. That is good he gained some weight back- it will help in the long run when he doesn't feel like eating, etc.

Have a wonderful week, Susie. xo Diana

    1. Thank you Diana. Yes, Savannah little friend Charity was grounded from the whole weekend fun feast. I was proud of her mom sticking to the line she marked in the sand. LOL The girls always laugh about crazy stuff and I enjoy talking with them.
Thank you always for the prayers. I know that has helped us so much. I know Ted is ready to proceed...I am a bit hesitant. I have enjoyed him being so well lately...but I know this has to be finished for his continued good health. Blessings , love you, xoxo, Susie

Susie, I know you know that when you're praying for Ted in that lovely little chapel and round the clock at home that your many blog friends are praying for him too. And it's great that he has gained back some weight, surely a testament to your good cooking. Love and prayers to both of you and your amazing supportive family, Dewena

  12. That cake looks delicious, Susie! I want a piece haha! The chapel is so lovely, and I think that is a nice place to be right now. I'm glad that you had dinner and got out with family for some laughs. I looked at the hospital picture, and it hit home cause my son was in ICU all weekend. He got into a car accident and was banged up pretty bad, but he is home now and healing and doing better.

I'm glad to hear Ted is eating now and you are fattening him up for his next treatments.

love you, Susie, and think about you often. : )

  20. You are such a trooper, as it Ted. I remember the months and months we were in a hospital or waiting room, waiting for answers after Jill's car accident. The chapel was my place of solitude and comfort. Funny, Jill our daughter that had that accident when she was 18, called and said. "Mom, it's been 30 years today since the accident! I could hardly believe it cause in a mom's heart, it was yesterday. But God was so good to us...and I know He's your strength and help in this difficult time for you and your family. Will continue to pray and love you.

    1. Thank you so much Wanda. I am so glad your daughter got thru her tough time. I know the stress of the waiting, we know God is there, but at times we run ahead and forget...then we have to take a breath and pray. Pray is all we can do at times. It's the key. I am grateful for your prayers. I remember when my brother Mark passed away. I had barely known your blog...but I dreamed you hug me and it made me feel better after losing Mark. Strange how our Lord works. Blessings to you sweet lady, xoxo, Susie
