This past week , we had some really nice days. About three. So I went to Horton's in town. Realized I had missed the Spring Open House. Got myself a nice little garden flag . It cheered me to see the pretty colors.
The tin truck in the center of the store was loaded with flowers , some real and some fake.
The greenhouse has lots of pansies and garden starts. New flowers for the cemetery stones, also.
I love the pansy faces. They look delicate but really are a hardy plant.
This is a bold color. I did not buy any yet, as I have no time to plant them.
This is the side entrance to the store. A scarecrow with a basket of flowers.
Inside are groups of displays. This one has lots of reds.
This is a small display and the yellow stands out.
The Easter banner looks nice here. Love the fake white flowers.
This is what happens , just when you think it's gone...it snows again. Yesterday afternoon.
Snowing and foggy...you can not see very far. Maybe across the road. We had about 2 inches of snow.
This is the last day of March. At least the sun is shining today. It is cold, but pretty skies make me smile. Hopefully the snow will melt quickly. Roads are somewhat slick.
Tomorrow, we have an appointment with the hematology nurse practitioner. It's just south of here at Riverview. Ted will just get his labs done there. Praying for good counts.
Wishing all of you a wonderful new week ahead. Be safe. XO
Happy Spring & Snow Showers to You!!!ReplyDelete

Thank you so much Laurie. I appreciate your prayers. They are helping us. Glad I still had the snow shovel on the porch...although I am ready to sit outside, not be shoveling snow. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
This sounds like a good and sorely needed day for you. Rick and others keep telling me to take care of my self because caregiving is hard work so yesterday I did the same. We're getting a little snow today but earlier in the week was lovely. Your Hortons looks like a great place. Hang in there, both of you!ReplyDelete
Thank you Jeanie. Oh a quiet day was nice. This mornings sunshine made up for the snowy afternoon yesterday. LOL It was a good day for soup and a movie. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Looking wistfully at your snow pictures... :) We are in full Spring here in the South. Our skies are yellow from the pollen, so are our cars, houses, porches, and pets.ReplyDelete
Yikes, Sandi, I did not know pollen could ever get that bad. I saw where it was allergy season, I guess that is why. Hope the rains can wash it all away. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Spring plants and colors are like a balm for the spirit...and that snow will bring very green grass soon! Praying for Ted's appt!ReplyDelete
Thank you Linda. We are both kind of on edge, as we seem to be coming down with colds. We were so lucky all winter and now this...which is the worst thing at this time. I am praying the Drs. know what to do. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie...We got snow, too...I hope it goes away quickly, I really liked the warm up we had, and seeing all the snow gone!!! there are Robins hopping all over our yard today..looking for something to eat...poor things. Loved seeing the pictures from the greenhouse!ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing some springtime flowers.
Love you dearly.
Thank you Debbie. I took the snow pictures this morning too and could hear robins singing...so strange a combination. I would love to plant some pansies...but will be too busy to water them. Our snow is melting already , hope yours is too. Blessings to you sweet friend, love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm so glad you got to go to Horton's. I love all the colorful displays. The dark red pansies are stunning. Praying you have a good week ahead...and no more snow!ReplyDelete

Jo, I just could not bring myself to make a fire in the fireplace ..so done with that for now. The flowers at Hortons made me want spring even more. LOL Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
It has been a long time since I visited a garden center. It all looks so pretty. That snow looks cold, especially just coming home from seeing all the pretty flowers and gardening things. Hope you get spring weather soon.ReplyDelete
The snow is already emlting...so glad about that. Yes, when I saw those flowers I wanted spring more than ever. LOL Then my little flag got all flipped and frozen. :( Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete

That really is a bold colorReplyDelete
Adam, Those little pansies come in many colors. Your get your money's worth with them, they last . Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I bet it was so good to visit Horton's again, Susie. I like your garden flag, and the red flowers will brighten your garden right up. I think I would have liked browsing through that RED section. Oh my, it's still snowing! It's been sunny the last couple of days here and even warm. I'm not sure I'm ready for the warm weather yet. I love foggy days, Susie, and your pictures are so pretty. I hope Ted does well tomorrow. Still saying prayers.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Sheri. We are so grateful for all the good prayers. They are helping us so much. I like the chilly/warm days of spring. I do not like when it goes from cold to hot too quickly. Blessings to you my sweet friend, xoxo, love you, SusieDelete
Thank you for your prayers for my son, Susie, and for me also. I appreciate that very much. I love my blog friends. They are such a comfort to us when we need them the most. I hope Spring arrives in your area soon, so you can get some nice sunshine for awhile, and maybe sit out on that wonderful deck of yours. : )Delete
I know how much you love Horton's! I hope it was a 'shot in the arm' for you and cheered your heart and soul.ReplyDelete
Winter seems to linger long in your part of the country. Summer does that here in Texas.
Praying for you both now and tomorrow. Louis Dean and I love you and Ted like our children. We keep you in our hearts......
Linda, Thank you for the prayers and sweet words. I will post about what happens today. Half of the snow melted yesterday from the sunshine, not from the temps. We have buds on the trees and the lilies are starting the grow. Blessings to you both, we love you too, xoxo, SusieDelete
I went Saturday and bought flowers to plant in pots, don't do much digging these days. Love all your photo's. Horton's looks like a place I'd love to visit.ReplyDelete
Hi Sylvia, Oh you would like the owners if nothing else. Horton's is a family owned and ran business. They keep our little town in flowers. I like container gardens too. But I know I will not be watering things this spring...so I wait. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a beautiful collection of Spring pretties, poof... then there's snow! Hope you get some nice weather soon. HUGS!ReplyDelete
Theresa, Half the snow is gone already. Hooray. I have buds on the lilacs . The lilies are popping up too. Ready for a sweet day on the porch. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie we were traveling last week and I said I wish we could go to Tipton, Ind. My daughter said why not? So we got to Hortons at 10 till 5, the lady was so nice, she let us in and stay as long as you want, she was getting ready for open house next day. While we were there my son-in-law called and said "You are EIGHTY miles out of the way". Wish we could have seen you and I'm so glad you were able to see the pansies (we missed them). We are thinking of you and watching your news. Next time we come, we'll let you know.ReplyDelete
Hi Peggy, Oh this just tickles me. Yes indeed, let me know and I will gladly meet you there. I love the good Christian family that own and operates the store. They have a bit of everything there. I love when the vender come to set up in the parking lot during the summer Markets. Bless your sweet heart, xoxo, SusieDelete
p.s. did you ask about setting up a booth some time?
Hugs and prayers dear lady. Hugs and prayers!!!! Trust the Lord with EVERYTHING. He never fails us!!ReplyDelete
Hi Honey, I have thought of you so many times. Tahnk you for the prayers. You mean so much to us. Ted and I are going along as they guide us. He will be going thru a bunch of tests soon to be ready for the bone marrow . Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Thank you for sharing the photos of the Flowers! I am so ready for Spring her in PA however Mother Nature has her own plans - it is currently snowing here! UGH! Annster's DomainReplyDelete
Ann, Soon all the lingering snow should be gone for good. I was shocked at how much we got on Saturday. I was all set to sit outside on the porch. I had pulled up all the old lily leaves and found new growth under it. I did not get to do my fall cleaning. Stay strong, blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Loving the tin flower truck! SO ADORABLE! Enjoyed the pretty pictures. Hugs and blessings to you and praying for you all.ReplyDelete
Thank you sweet Cindy. I appreciate your prayers and good wishes. I like that little tin truck too. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Sending prayers for good counts, Sweet Susie!! xoxoReplyDelete
Thank you Debbie. It was a rough day. The counts are still good but Ted has bronchitis and will have to have antibiotics for a few days. Blessings to you and yours, come on spring ! xoxo, SusieDelete
Funny how your weather changes. We are pretty stable here, sunshine or rain! The two choices. The last week has been bright sunshine. Today they are tree trimming at the Villa, and I'm afraid they are going to cut some of my shade from the tree by the balcony. Be careful boys, don't trim too much!!! Tomorrow is our big day for Don's heart testing. 3 different ones at the hospital at 3:15. Thanks for your prayers. Looking now for answers.ReplyDelete
Wanda, You and Don are in my prayers. It's stressful for the whole family at times. I pray for easy fix results. Blessings to you sweet friend. Hope the shade wasn't trimmed from your balcony. xoxo, love, SusieDelete
Snow again? It is pretty but I know you're ready for it to end. Your spring flag for the entrance is so pretty! I know the trip to Horton's must have been good for you. I wish we had them here. I just read in a comment above that Ted has bronchitis, I'm so sorry! I'll remember that in my prayers too as I know how bad that makes you feel. I hope you don't come down with it too. Thinking of you daily, Susie.ReplyDelete
Dewena, The second day after the big snow it all melted. Hooray. Thank you for your prayers Dewena, it means so much to us. It seems many things want to come all at once. Praying for a good day tomorrow...an all day of testing at the Bone Marrow Clinic. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
Loved all your pretty spring pictures. Prayers for good health for you and for Ted.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Carol. All the prayers are helping us thru. We are in for a tough time tomorrow. A day of testing at the Bone Marrow clinic. Blessings to you, hope you are feeling great. xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh how nice you got to go to Horton's Open House. Sometimes we need those little mental health breaks in life. Sorry Ted is not feeling well. Continuing prayers.ReplyDelete
Thank you Kris. I enjoyed my short visit to Horton's. My little garden flag had snow on it the very next day. LOL. But it's all melted now. Ted will call the navigator nurse at the bone marrow clinic today to see if they still want him to come in for all day testing. You are still in my prayers Blessings to all, xoxo, love, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, you and Ted have been on my heart and in my prayers. I had no idea what a hard walk this is, you are a true encouragement. Praying for great lab results.ReplyDelete
