Ted had a two day fishing trip with his brother and son. He enjoyed just being with them at the camp ground. He said he did catch a big fish but never got it in the boat. :) It was good for him to have that bit of time , just doing normal things. That is why I was out with my daughter looking at mums. I certainly enjoyed my time out. Went to lunch and laughed so much. We all needed that. Plus I got to sort a tote of crafting things for my sister-in -law. A bag of old clothing for Goodwill too. It's a start.
Today starts Ted's week of maintenance chemo. His brother Mic took him this morning. So that gives me time to do more sorting and laundry. Ted will get blood work and his IV drip chemo , then Tuesday , Wednesday, and Friday, it's just the IV chemo, Thursday will be the chemo and a breathing treatment. The breathing treatment is to prevent the pneumonia that bone marrow patients can get. He could have taken meds for prevention, for 6 months, but the drs. thought the treatment would work out better. .They watch all his vitals while he is taking it.
Hope all of you had a good Labor Day weekend. Praying for everyone in the hurricane's path. Please be safe.

I love GIRL's Days:) I am having one with my daughter later this week and I am looking forward to it. SO happy that Ted got to spend some time fishing, I know he had a great time. Have a blessed day dear friend and week ahead. PRAYERS continue for you and Ted. HUGS!ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Theresa I am so grateful for your kind words and prayers. I got texts from my daughter and g.daughter thanking me for the fun Saturday, I thanked them too. We all needed that time. Our weather today is heavenly. Hope yours is also. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
The fudge looks yummy and now I want to buy a mum for my patio. My handyman stained my brand new trellis a couple days ago. How long do you find your stain lasts? I hope Ted has a successful time of treatments.ReplyDelete
Terra, My stain was also a sealer...it last a couple years...but the sun just really does a job on the floor boards. Well now the rain beads up on them ...so that is good. Now frost that would be a totally different story...a scary one. LOL. I made a bunch of pumpkins from old sweaters, I will use them in decorating. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Soon it will be all halloween and on nov 1 christmasReplyDelete
Adam. The store certainly rush the sales of stuff. I like for kids to trick or treat but I do not like lots of halloween decor around my house. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, your deck looks wonderful. It sounds like a lot of work, but it sure paid off, cause it looks great! I'm so glad you brought home some fudge from Horton's. Such a Yummy selection. Oh, look at all the orange pumpkins! I know they have the white ones also out there to buy, but the orange pumpkins I really love. I haven't seen the MUMS at the stores yet. They're my favorite flower in Fall. I bet that was nice for Ted to go fishing with his son. I'm so glad to hear that you're able to do things now, Susie, like start a crafting tote for your sister-in-law. I hope Ted does well with his next treatments, and will continue prayers.ReplyDelete
Yes, the hurricane is scary, isn't it? So much going on in our world right now.
Sheri, Ted had good counts today and was so happy when he came home from clinic. God has been with us thru this , thanks to everyone's prayers too. It given us strength when we needed it. Ted's voice was scratchy when he returned home from all the talking and laughing he did. We both needed this past weekend to get some wind in our sails.Delete
I am praying for the East coats and everyone in the hurricane's path...so scary and dangerous. Blessings to you and yours Sheri. Love you sweet friend, xoxo, Susie
Loving all the fall in this post!ReplyDelete
And who doesn't love fudge??
Prayers for Ted, and wishes for a cozy day.
Thank you so much Billie. We so appreciate the prayers , for they have helped us get this far...giving us the strength we need. Oh I wish I could buy some of the fudge from Horton's for everyone. They even have pumpkin spice, and dreamcicle...so yummy.Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
So glad Susie that you had such a wonderful and LAUGHTER....Oh it is so good for our souls to laugh. We need laughter for sure. Yes, those beautiful mums are everywhere now. Our local Walmart had tons of them the other day. The lady working there told me she sold the most yellow colored ones compared to the other colors. I like them all. Just never have had much luck keeping them looking pretty. I bought several for a gift though. Added some paper around the bottom with a bow and they make such cute inexpensive gifts. So glad Ted enjoyed his day as well. And I am sure it wasn't about catching a fish....but all about time being well spent. Prayers abounding for you all. Hugs and blessings, CindyReplyDelete
Cindy, Thank you so much for your kind prayers. Oh yes, it was joy for Ted to have all that fun with his son and brother. They even ad a pitch in dinner at the camp ground. Ted said it was amazing.Delete
I like the idea of gifting mums...I may go get some for my daughters and sisters. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
My deck needs staining...I keep casting a glance at it and it is still sitting there looking pitiful. Not this year.ReplyDelete
You did a great job on yours! It looks great. They don’t get smaller as the years go by. 😉
Glad that Ted’s brother was able to help out this time. What would we do without family?!
Vee, Family is a true blessing. Mic has been just wonderful, helping his brother. They talk and carry on like you wouldn't believe. I love hearing them laughing together.Delete
Oh you are right that deck was so much smaller when we built it. LOL. Wish someone would come help you with yours.
Praying you are doing better Vee. I hope you have family near by too. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
Prayers for you, my brother in law is going through the same thing. I always love your posts of Hortons!ReplyDelete

Good for you, doing the deck yourself. That's hard work! And I'm glad Ted got the fishing trip in before his next round. LIfe sounds good for you now. I hope it stays that way for many moons to come!ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Jeanie. It was a good weekend. Then Ted had good counts and encouraging words from his Dr yesterday. I was glad to stain and seal that deck, now the rain beads up on it. I should have done it in the spring but no time. Seems like I pick the hottest week. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
It looks like you had a great weekend indeed Susie! Wishing you a wonderful September!ReplyDelete
Thank you sweet Pilar. I think of you often, especially now with that darn hurricane wrecking havoc. Please stay safe. Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, SusieDelete
How fortunate that your brother-in-law is there to help both of you.ReplyDelete
Costco usually has huge mum plants. We on't have a membership, but our next door neighbor always picks one up for me.
Carol, I am so thankful to Ted's brother for helping us. They were not always close in the adult life, but have grown closer in the past five years. Now they take time for each other .Delete
I like buying smaller mum plants just to put on the porch. But not this year, I have used all my fake flowers in containers on the porch.:) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
Thank you Susie, so nice to know you are thinking of us and we appreciate the prayers. I worry about the people who won't evacuate and I worry about the animals.... Hope you are having a good week, I loved the pictures!--all the "punkins" and mums--- so pretty!ReplyDelete
Debbi, I turned my TV on in the night to see any news of the storm. Then again this morning. Oh the destruction in the Bahamas is heart breaking. I can not believe how long this storm is hanging around, I want it to go out to sea.Stay safe.Delete
I cut my mums back this year and they have not bloomed, well not all of them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Hi Susie. I'm glad Ted got to go fishing and your got time with the girls. Sounds like a good time was had by all. You deserve it. Thanks for your visit and yes, that is my "little" Jake. I think he was about 2 then..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudyReplyDelete
Jusy, I was looking at photos, actually stored in picture boxes at my daughter. Oh, those squeezed my heart. Seeing my grandkids so young and now they are grown.Delete
Ted is having a great week so far. It will be nice when he reaches the year mark...he will be able to do yard work. I will not worry so much when he is outdoors. Plus during chemo he will always wear long sleeves and pants, plus a hat .Too easy to get seriously sunburned during that time. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
Hi Susie, How nice that both you and Ted had a day to treat yourselves to something special. Sometimes that is the best medicine! I love to see pumpkins and mums for sale - so colorful. Your deck looks good and I know what a tough job that was. Praying for you both daily. xoReplyDelete
Thank you my sweet friend. I am grateful to all the wonderful people like you in this world. The prayers are so much appreciated. God has been with us thru this trying time in our lives. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete

Praying for Ted. I am so happy he got to go out fishing. Yippee.ReplyDelete
I am planning to get a big mum this weekend. I think yellow would be pretty, I always have such a hard time deciding what color. :-)
Carla, That sound like me choosing colors. I like the yellow and white but they brown around the edge to noticeably when they age. Maybe I just need to deadhead more often. LOL. Yes, It was wonderful for Ted to have fun time with his brother and son. No fish, but they did not care, they made memories. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Girl time is always a great time! Fudge, lunch, shopping, beautiful flowers, Man you girls did it all!! I'm so glad your husband was able to go fishing and even caught a fish or was that just a fish story since it never made it into the boat haha, just kidding. It's good for the soul to be out in nature fishing with the guys this will help with his up coming treatments.ReplyDelete
You are a wonder woman staining your deck, wow, I'm so impressed!
Thank you Saimi. The fellows and Ted always say, the first liar never has a chance. That is for fishing . It did us both good to go have normal fun. Ted actually has had a good week . Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete

The deck looks good. I bet the fudge at Horton's is delicious.ReplyDelete
Oh that fudge is amazing...so many flavors. Dreamcicle is really good. Thank you honey, I worked hard on that deck could have done better, if it had not been so hot outside. Blessings to you, hope all is well there. xoxo, SusieDelete
You did a good job on the deck. Beautiful fall decorations. May peace dwell in your and yours heart.ReplyDelete

Be a sweetie,
Shelia, The Horton's have little samples on a tray of the fudges,,,free. I catch my daughter eating 2 or 3 while we shop. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, Good morning! I pray things are going well for Ted and you. And that his treatments last went went good. As you know I continue to pray for you. By the end of the week, I'm hoping to be able to blog again. My eye continues to heal. Yes, Fall is coming quickly here in Iowa too. (Too fast for me I think.) However, I'm hoping to get a yellow mum for my porch too! They are so bright and pretty!!! You know me and my love for YELLOW...lolReplyDelete
Thank you Gert. Your prayers are so welcomed here. We are grateful for each one. Ted had some issues since this last maintenance. It takes the wind from his sails. I hope and pray your eye heals completely. I am hating to let go of the summertime hours. It's still plenty hot here for now. Blessings to you, stay safe. Love you sweet lady, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh thank you for stopping by Susie, and we are so glad to BE BACK HOME. Alot of clean up here, but no broken glass so that is good! Maybe I'll be in the mood to decorate for Fall soon.ReplyDelete
Debbi, I am so glad it wasn't a disaster there for you. Now on to decorating, right? Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
oh susie, those mums are really gorgeous, nice shapes and really stunning colors!! as for ted's "fish story", what do you really think about that?? hehehehehe, just kidding of course, i could not resist!! i always laugh at the one that got away!!! it's nice that he was able to spend some "man" time fishing, i'll bet it felt great!!!ReplyDelete
best wishes to ted, i am not a big believer in prayer, i wish i was...but i am sending warm wishes and a big virtual hug to him!!
Debbie, I told Ted someone cut his line while fishing. LOL They were fishing the Wabash river...a muddy one too. Of course the Tippicanoe come off it and it's very clean. But I do not want any of that fish. :) He did so enjoy the "man" time. LOLDelete
Those mums from Hortons are so big, all you need is a couple at your steps. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
What a fantastic job on the deck staining, it's not easy to keep everyone and everything off it until it dries :)ReplyDelete
Happy to read you and Ted are getting some normal days back in your life, and hoping good times are the new normal for you both.
Hortons make me swoon....lol
Jo, It was so hot that week and a bit of breeze so that helped with the deck staining. That is why I divide it up into three days, so I last and there's half way to get to the door. But I have hung wet floor signs and said go to the back. LOL Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Thank you for visiting me Susie! My beloved truly IS an amazing man.ReplyDelete
My guy has been working on a new deck for us and he still has phase II to go before we stain, etc. It's going to be a big job and he's already not looking forward to that part!
We do NOT have a Horton's in Oklahoma. We have to FIGHT for everything here... :(
Rebecca, So glad your hubby is your hero. Our Horton's store is a christian family owned hardware-emporium, I guess you could call it. It started as just hardware. Now it has household decor and a greenhouse of plants and flowers. Custom blinds and shades, and the delicious fudge. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What lovely fall photos and activities! Glad you both had some fun! Praying for Ted's treatments!ReplyDelete
Tank you so much Linda. We are grateful for all prayers. I love coming to your blog and seeing all your clever ideas and re-do's. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I now understand what you meant by "worry, stress, cry, and pray". My prayers are with you and Ted; I hope his treatments go well. I am a cancer survivor, myself (breast cancer). Every day is a blessing.ReplyDelete
That fudge, by the way, looks delicious! I wouldn't be able to choose!
Thank you so kindly for your prayers and well wishes. We are thankful to all. Glad you survived your breast cancer, so did my daughter. Now my Teddy is fighting cancer, Acute Myloid leukemia. Has had huge rounds of chemo and a bone marrow transplant. It's been since last Nov. and we still have a ways to go. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
How wonderful you were able to spend this wonderful time with your daughter!ReplyDelete
All the fall decor in your hometown is just beautiful. I just love the changing of seasons!
God blessings to You & Ted! Net

Hello Jack, I am sorry so late answering your comment...I just now found it. :) Boys are nice to have around too. Kind of wish I had one hardy lad here to help me carry the softener salt to the basement. I use my two wheeled lawn bucket. :) Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
