Remember this huge pumpkin? I think this picture is 2 years old. In the town of Alexandria, a man grows these big pumpkins .
He loads them with a block and tackle onto a trailer. I am not sure where they take them. Look at the watermelons too.
Mums from last year, they are just blooming now. I have still to get my grandson 's help with my computer, so no new photos.
This is a bit of an up date about Ted. He is getting better, but still in the hospital. He is on oxygen for a few more days. He has not had fever for about three days now. Eating well and able to get up to go to the restroom. Still getting antibiotics in his IV. Thank you for all the kind prayers and well wishes. Each one has helped us so much. XO
Wow. Those pumpkins are ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI hope Ted continues to heal.
Thank you Jo(e). I appreciate your wish for us. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAn excellent progress report... praising God with you for Ted’s doing so much better. I trust that you are getting good rest as well.
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkins and watermelons are amazing.
Vee, Some times my tummy is in knots from the stress . I know God is always with me...some times I need reminders, we human think we can do it all ourselves. You are in my prayers Vee. I never got to go by that fellow's house that grows the pumpkins....maybe once Ted gets home we can go check his garden. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad Ted is better and hope he gets to come home soon. Those pumpkins are something else! Looks like from a fairy tale!
ReplyDeleteDiane, Thank you. Yes, it will be wonderful for Teddy to get his good health back. I think the maintenance chemo kind of drain his strength. Going to try to go see about the pumpkin patch when Ted gets home. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteI miss Ted and want him home...but I want him well enough to be home . They are still looking for any thing out of the ordinary. I think his energy is gone from the fever. Thanks for good words. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteGlad to hear the update on Ted!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the pumpkins, watermelons, etc. taste when they are grown like that. Do people eat them?
Thank you Sandi. Ted was in great spirits this morning. Hoping for a big boost of energy for him.
DeleteI am not sure if things are just grown for prizes for the biggest veggie or if they can bee eaten.I have always wanted to talk to the man that grew them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Thank you Laurie for your prayers for Ted and I. We are so grateful.
ReplyDeleteI want to go by that pumpkin farmer's house soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
I love, love, love all the autumneee goodness. Wow, those pumpkins and even the watermelons. Happy Autumn with a great big side of boogie boogie.

DeleteNow that's what I call a big old fat pumpkin! WOW! Glad Ted is doing better Susie. I actually had you come to my mind this morning and said a little prayer. People struggle with believing things like that happen but I believe with all that is me the Lord lays folks on our hearts to lift up and sometimes just out of the blue. Anyway, prayed for you and Ted this morning. I hope the rest of your week goes well for you dear lady. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy, I believe what you are saying. It has happened to me many times. One day as I worried and prayed about my daugghter when she had breast cancer I received a card from a blog friend who had battle it also...that card lifted my spirits and I called my Lizzy and read it to her. Thank you so much for your prayers. We are in need even as Ted is getting a tiny bit better. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

DeleteI am so glad to hear that Ted is doing better. I do hope that you are able to get a little bit more rest yourself. I know it is hard to think about yourself, but Ted needs you healthy as well and you need to take some time for yourself even if you only get it in small carved out sessions of time. You are both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and your family,
Connie
Thank you Connie. I am trying my best to stay healthy. Even tho I canceled my scopings, I will get them done later when Ted is more like himself. While he has been in the hospital, I have water the lawn where it was aerated by the lawn man, weed whacked and cleaned the little pond..plus you know all the household chores. Prayers for you and Steve always. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy Fall to you! That pumpkin is so cool! And big. Oh my! I can hardly believe another season is here and we transition into cooler temps. Your flowers are so pretty for this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update... Prayers for you, Ted and your family.
God bless, Net
Thank you so much for your prayers. We are in need of them, each one is precious to us. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

DeleteI'm glad Ted is feeling better. May God watch over your dear husband, Susie. He has been through so much. You too. Wow, look at that big pumpkin!! That's wonderful that someone grows them, and the watermelons look huge too! My favorite Fall flower is Mums. These pink ones are so pretty. They look like mini Mums.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is here and loving every minute of it. It's still warm though during the day, but cooler in the mornings. Have a good week, Susie.
~Sheri
Sheri, I am loving the cooler mornings when I can get outside. It's warmer than normal some days and I know all too soon those days will end.
DeleteTed told me just now the Dr is letting him come home on Friday. Hooray. I have missed him so much. But I know being in the hospital was the best place while he was going thru some issues of the chemo maintenance. Thank you for thinking of us and always wishing us the best. Love you, blessings to all your family, xoxo, Susie
Dear Susie: You are such a sweetheart. Thanks for your kind words and I am glad to call you a friend. So glad to hear that Ted is improving. Soon he will be able to come home and then that will be a special autumn..Happy Fall..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, I am thrilled to be your friend. My blog family is truly like real family in my heart. I always love to visit your blog and see what all you are doing to your cute home. Ted called and said Dr. is letting him return home this Friday, so happy for that news. Made my day. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAmen...Ted is doing better. I haven't been by your blog in months...crazy Summer. The Fall goodness makes me smile. Hallmark has that pumpkin movie that has pumpkins like these. Inlovevthat movie.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing those big pumpkins, the man covers them in damp cloths when it is really hot outside. Keeps them cool. I would love to know what they do with them. :)
DeleteMy sweet Teddy said the dr is letting him come home this Friday, hooray. I have missed him being here, but wanted him well enough to be here. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
LOve those huge pumpkins
ReplyDeleteI want a pie from that much pumpkin. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad to read that your husband is doing better and might be able to come home this Friday. I hope he continues to do well. I am keeping you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the prayers. We are grateful. So far it's still a go for Friday. I am thankful. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins are amazing and the melon.
I am sending prayers and hugs. Praying Ted can get home soon and get well soon too.
Love, Carla
Thank you so very much Carla. I am excited Ted is coming home, but a bit scared also. I just hope all the prayers and good wishes will get us over this hill. Blessings to you ans yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOH MY GOSH.....that is BIG! I just wonder do you have to use a certain type of pumpkin seed to get one that BIG? Talk about seeds, there would be tons for roasting when the babe is cut open!! Thanks for dropping by the blog and saying hi. Yep, I really wished I had a garage or the space at my home to hold parties like stenciling and paint classes. Instead I will do these things at someones home who host the party for their friends and I bring the supplies, they just pay a fee. Its fun and I can make some money this way but like me, my friends don't have the space either! I have an up coming paint class in a couple of weeks but that is it for now. Like you it does help with stress and helps you to enjoy the company of others which helps to leave the cares of the world behind....for a bit.
ReplyDeletePam, I hope you get more parties to host. My daughter does zumba to make a few extra dollars. I actually have a daughter as crafty as can be, but she never has enough extra time to make sweet things. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThank you for the update! We are praying faithfully for you both....
ReplyDeleteHang in there!
Oh Susie...thank you for the update.. Since my eye surgery I haven't been able to read too much... but that hasn't stopped my prayers for you guys. You are such a strong person. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteLove 'n prayers,
Gert
Those pumpkins are monstrosities!!! I wonder if the stuff inside is even edible. Would need to borrow a knife from Paul Bunyun to cut through those. Asking God to heal your Ted and give you peace and comfort as you continue to care for him. So very sorry for all the struggles.
ReplyDeleteHi Susie...I remember the huge pumpkin photo. Hope things are improving at your house. You and Ted are in my prayers daily. Fall has arrived here at the lake. I pulled the decorations out, and it's cozy, especially in the evenings. I'm back blogging again. Missed it. Love you, Debbie xo
ReplyDeleteI saw in your more recent post that Ted is home from the hospital, good news indeed. Those pumpkins are biggies.
