It's been a long month. So thankful the weather was kind. Plenty of rain, bit of snow here and there, but no heavy snows. Ted had a round of chemo the first week. Became ill and ended up in the hospital. His vitals are always good each day.
Today we saw his oncology doctor. Labs were taken. Ted's white and red cell counts are low. His platelets are up again. Which the bone marrow transplant doctors wanted to happen before the next chemo. But Dr. Birhirey says with his white cells being low we will wait another week. So that Monday will be, labs and a chemo , if counts allow...then get to Indy to see the IMBT drs. On the following Tuesday I will be seeing my eye dr. I was there once this week. Trying to squeeze in some health time for myself. Scary.
Ted will be seeing his heart dr again this month...plus a pulmonologist, all those appointments within this month. All we get to done is go to see drs. Wears me out. Ted has no energy. It's shortness of breath. That is why he will have ct scan then see the lung doctor. Wish us luck. Ted may need to change inhalers or have oxygen once in a while.
Hopefully we will have some good days this month to be able to make all our appointments.
Hoping to visit all of you more often. Just 49 days till spring...can you believe it? Take care. XO

DeleteWe didn't have any heavy January snows either and am hoping February won't bring any either. It will make your doctors trips much easier. Course we can only take it a day at a time and see what comes. There is no second guessing the weather. Take good care and keep warm. Prayers always.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the good wishes and prayers. We are so grateful. Yes, one day at a time. I am hoping this new month will be gentle to all of us. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYour month sounds like it has been a whirlwind of appointments with more to come. Sending so many good wishes for a good (and healing) February.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. I do know if I am coming or going at times. LOL. It is rough at times. I am thankful for the good wishes. Blessings to you friend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh dear sweet Susie. Your life is a whirlwind too. So many factors in our hubby's illnesses and treatments. I think you must be exhausted too. I know you have precious family helping. What would we do without family. Our kids have been so helpful.
ReplyDeleteSending love and prayers for Ted and YOU!
Thank you so much Wanda. I keep telling Ted if he should see me lying at the bottom of the stairs...leave me be awhile, I need the rest. LOL. I have to laugh, or I would be nuts. But then again I may be.
DeleteBlessings and prayers to you and Don. We have to keep going don't we? xoxo, love you, Susie
Praying for you both to have better days ahead. My brother is getting ready to go down the same road. With God's continued help we're going to make it. Big hugs sweet friend. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Susie for your prayers and well wishes. I am sending prayers to your brother and the family. Families are all involved during a bad health time. Please take care of yourself. I think of you often. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThat endless rounds of doctors and blood tests and treatments can get to be so tiring. Plus, nothing else gets done, because driving there, waiting, and driving back can take so much out of one. I hope they can get his blood counts to where they want it in order to proceed with the next round of treatments. Continuing to keep you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your prayers. You know there's great power in prayers. Your description of meeting appointments taking time and energy is so true. My once upon a time clean home is gone..I just do the best I can. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteDo you ever feel like your not in Kansas anymore? What a whirlwind of appointments. Hope things settle down for you and your sweet husband and you both can find time to just relax.
ReplyDeleteThank you honey. Oh yes, I feel that at times the doctors think we live in a camper in their parking lots or fly a small helicopter to get to some places. That Monday we have to go to two different cities, so I am praying for good weather. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHopefully February will be easier.
ReplyDeleteThank you Adam. Today is going to be 59 degrees. Awesome. Do you ever feel that sunshine can help your spirits....that's me for sure. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh boy Susie, what a month ahead for you. I'm so sorry you're both going through this, I feel so bad for the two of you. You have my prayers. Wishing Ted the best during this very difficult time. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Rain. Your prayers are so appreciated. It helps us thru tough times with the power of prayer. I am hoping I do not fall apart before I can help get Ted thru this journey. It things could just go smoothly with no set backs that would be better. Hope you are getting along in this winter time. Today sweet girl, it was 59 degrees here, the sun did shine all day. Heavenly. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie you are an inspiration. You're so positive and I know that your attitude gives Ted strength to keep fighting. You are both in my nightly prayers. God bless you both.
DeleteThank you Connie. I am praying all the time. I am ready for things to calm down some...it would be nice to relax. Once Ted's year is up since the transplant, the dr visits will slow way down...if he has no relapses. His meds will be cut back also. I need more time for my own health. but I have put it all aside to tend to Ted. Hope We both can be well and "normal" soon. I am grateful to you for the prayers, I pray for you and Steve in my daily prayers too. I believe it helps us. Life can be hard but thankfully God is good. Bless you my friend, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteSending you prayers and good healing thoughts for the week ahead. I bet you are exhausted with all the doctor visits. I am glad the weather has been good with all the traveling you have to do for the visits. Keeping good thoughts and prayers going for you sweet friend.

Kris
Thank you so much Kris. Everyone's kind prayers have helped Ted and I get this far. I am forever grateful. Ted is starting to feel a bit better today. But he can not do what he did two months ago even. Thankful that we each can have a sense of humor right when we need some laughs. Isn't this nicer weather giving you spring fever Kris? I am so ready. Blessings to you and Terry. xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteOh Susie, it seems that when it rains it pours doesn't it? Lifting you and Ted up to our Lord right now. I too heard that Spring would arrive early this year but in Florida...one never knows about the weather for sure. Sending you hugs right now. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy...you make me laugh about the early spring in Florida...do you think they will notice there? LOL Oh I love it. Thank you for the hugs. We need them along with prayers. I saw the sun peep thru the clouds today as I went into town and I knew God was sending me a hug too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSaying healing prayers for Ted and yourself Susie, I know just how wearing on a soul and body illness can be...
ReplyDeleteHaven't we had the strangest of weather already in 2020, one day sunshine, the next rain, and then snow flakes, a little bit of everything :0
Take good care of yourselves sweet lady.
Hugs,
~Jo
Jo, My friend, thank you so much for your prayers. All the wonderful kind people praying for us has truly helped us.
DeleteOur weather today is nasty and we are going to a funeral(wearing our masks). Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Susie, I'm sorry Ted had a hard time with his last treatment and had to go to the hospital. I do hope he gets his energy back. And I hope all goes well for you at the eye doctor. I actually just had a visit to the eye doctor, cause I have been having floaters in my eyes. He said the retinas look good, so I think it's all allergy related. These are the pretties sunsets, Susie. It's great that you didn't get heavy snows this Winter. That's unusual, cause you always get a lot of snow each year.
ReplyDeleteWishing you good February days, and it was good to see your post again, and thank you for visiting as well. I love hearing from you.
~Sheri
Thank you Sheri for always sending prayers and kind words. That retina thing is happening to me also. I have to see my dr. again this coming week. I am praying for good reports. Blessings to you sweet girl, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteLaurie, Thank you for the prayers. That is what I am longing for too.The cancer battle is hard enough, without rough weather, set-backs, or me having health issues too. I am keeping you and yours in my prayers. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSusie, what beautiful sunset shots. I'm sorry Ted hasn't felt well these last days. Hopefully he will get built back up and things can become easier. What a lot of doc appointments and even though necessary, not a lot of fun. Hope your eye exam goes well. I am due to have mine too. I was just thinking this morning about how easy this winter has been so far. We haven't had much rain to speak of which isn't always a good thing. Probably will have a very wet spring, enough to ruin all the pretty blooms on the trees..I'm thinking of you and Ted..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, Hope your eye exam goes well. I have to go back. Our winter was good till yesterday. LOL. It sleeted on us coming home from a graveside funeral service. Ted says he is starting to feel better. We get into more test Monday. When spring comes things should start to slow down . Stay safe Judy. Hope your family is doing well. Thanks for good thoughts.Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Delete...Ted's and your struggles give me pause as I write this form across the Pacific Ocean. I send you my warmest tropical wishes for good health. Tom
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom for those good wishes. It's been a long journey and very rough at times. We seem to keep finding just a bit more strength when we need it. Thank God. Blessings to you and yours, stay safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt is a struggle, Terrible Snow Storm but we made it to Cardioligist and Hospital for blood draws, Changing Medications, My shortness of Breath might be 2 medications fighting each other, but I have COPD, Arm sore from last 2 Heart Cath and my 12th stent, Keeping You and Ted in our Prayers ! Stay Safe and Warm !
ReplyDeleteWoody, Ted has an appt. with his cardiologist the 3rd week this month. Next week will be our busiest. I worry about Ted's shortness of breath, they may change his meds. I alway pray he will get well and regain his strength. I hope you have help getting to your appts. It is so hard when everyone works.I will keep you in my prayers. Keep your faith. Remember to hug your wife.Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deleteooooh susie, i know how it feels to have all of your time filled with doctor appointments. spending all of your time trying to stay well, it's exhausting!! i am wishing you the best and sending big, warm hugs from the jersey shore!!
ReplyDeletewe did not have any real snow either, just little dustings...thank heavens for you!!!
Thank you Debbie. Warm hugs are so nice. This month had the most appointments and two were for me, I can not ignore my eye issues any longer. I am praying for no bad snows. :) Blessings to you, can't wait to see butterflies again. xoxo,Susie
DeleteStopping by again to say you both remain in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteSue
Thank you so much Sue. Your prayers are so welcomed here. I had to pray for a mother yesterday at our appointment. Her oldest son and his wife just had a baby and he was diagnosed with cancer. It's so hard to see their pain , so I pray for all who suffer. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy heart goes out for him! I know what he is going through. Luckily, chemo does not make me sick. I am getting it every two weeks. They also started me on a chemo pill that I take every 64 days. I was told I would be sick 3-7 days after. I have taken it twice, but didn't get sick. Yahoo!! Thank God for mini blessings. They do come even among struggles. I will keep you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Thank you Jann. We appreciate the prayers. You are certainly in mine. I am so glad you do not get sick. Ted just really loses his strength a week after treatments. But he may only need a couple more rounds, unless something bad should come up. His bone marrow is working, so far. Less than 80 day he will reach his year mark for the transplant, and that good. Bless you sweet young lady. Love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie; thank you for visiting me. I am so sorry about Ted. I know what you mean about so many doctor visits. We have a lot now. Your sky pictures are beautiful, I especially love the cloud patterns.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, Dr/hospital visits are so time consuming. We had two hospital appts yesterday, in two different cities, thankful we made them both on time. At one he got his chemo and at the other he got his first round of baby shots...which is something that one goes thru after a bone marrow transplant. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHope Ted is doing better now, and you are holding up, Susie. I know all the doctor visits are hard, but hopefully they are able to ease his shortness of breath. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. We got thru a long day yesterday and I was thanking God when it was over. So was Ted. This round of chemo will be lighter. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSpotted you on a mutual friends blog and thought I'd come for a visit. Always enjoy meeting new bloggers. So sorry you're having such a busy and scary time with all these doctor's visits, and hope Ted improves and the weather cooperates so you're able to get to all your appointments. So many have gone through what you're going through with health issue's of a loved one, have you looked into a support group? You may find it helps you maintain. My best to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
Hi Sandy. Thank you for visiting. We got thru the longest day , went to two hospitals and got back home safely. Thank the Lord the roads were clear. I may have to checked into support. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteJust checking in to see if all is well with you and Ted. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you . We had a couple truly busy tiring days this week so far. The rest of this week should go well. Although we had a snow storm coming our way, praying time will work in our favor, cause this weekend will be in the 40's. The snow will surely start melting then. Ted is up beat this week. I saw my eye dr. and he was encouraging. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, I am visiting your blog from Connie's. I am sorry to read about your husband.I hope he is feeling better soon. We know what you mean about so many doctor appointments it wears you out! I have CFS and hubby has neuropathy. Still many blessings to enjoy. I wonder how far Tipton is from Valparaiso where we live. Hang in there. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, I think you live about 2 1/2 hrs from our town. I hope you are not swamped with dr appts. It is totally exhausting some days, for us. I have put my own health on the back burner for over a year. But with my eyes, I just have to keep those appts. Please take care of your husband and yourself. It's a job to try to stay healthy. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day to you and Ted ! Chili was just OK, I don't know what happened, Corn Bread or "Johnny Cake" was good, I might have missed something or added something, After the Stroke Memory fails me sometimes, It warmed up to 9 degrees, going down to below zero again ! Prayers Lifted for Ted and also you ! Take care,, Gary
ReplyDeleteOh Sorry, I have been calling you Woody. LOL Yes, I know about forgetting to add ingredients while cooking. That is one reason I love one pan meals...keep it simple. Thank you so much for your prayers. We are so grateful for each one. Get some good rest this weekend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
