This is a view of one of our water towers as you cross Cicero Creek. We have driven thru the park a few times just to be out of the house and not really around people. The park has taken the fence down around the playground now. So I guess little kids can play. Just hope their parents wash their hands plenty.
It could almost seem normal times seeing the beauty of the park. It's always clean there. Although I know not all people clean up after their dogs. I do not know why. Lazy?.
On the light poles around the park , we have banners to celebrate our town . Now throughout the city on the poles are banners with pictures of the graduating class of our H.S. I really like that tribute to the seniors. They will have graduation ceremonies in July and only the parents can attend. At least that will be something for the young people. I feel that the youth that did not get to finish their H.S. and last year of college with their classmates of so many years, will go on to be a strong group of citizens. They have had to sacrifice much these past months. God bless them all.
Remember the happy dance I wanted to do after leaving the periodontal office Well that was short lived. I was chewing some tums for heartburn Sunday evening and broke a molar. My dentist does nt pull teeth or do root canals...so I called Ted's dentist on Monday morning, they told me to come in that afternoon. The dentist could do nothing to save that tooth , so she pulled it. Then she tells me the next tooth looked as if it could have an infection and she sets up an appointment at the Endodontist.
Good grief is there no dentist who can do it all. So come Tuesday I will be seeing another dentist. Yikes. Honestly...I am thinking when do I say when. I think the tooth sensitivity was probably from the tooth that broke. It may have been cracked. Mind you , I just had x-rays, cleaning and that sharp measuring procedure in Feb. All those x-rays and they never find anything...it is a wonder my entire head isn't glowing .
We had some wind damage after a fierce storm went thru our area. Ted's brother Mic came over and helped us with clean up. 2 hours of sawing , loading, hauling and un-loading. Raking also. Then Teddy Bear mowed, made a world of difference. :)
Please stay safe everyone. XO
With you on the Dentist thing Susie! Every time I go to the dentist they find way more things wrong. I swear the older I get my teeth are just falling out and cracking and then they find a problem with the tooth next-door. I just got a crown put on and she suggested that I get my wisdom teeth pulled. I am 50 why do I need them pulled now? I told her leave them I don't wanna go through any more procedures right now… I hate going to the dentist exclamation
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, you are too young for all that work. I think sometimes it's just helping their cronies to have some money too. LOL. My old dentist could do everything in his little office. I some times think...oh just pull them all and give me some wonderful dentures. For all the money I have spent I should have a million dollar smile and a diamond in each tooth. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI am so sorry to hear about your dental nightmare. God bless you. That's a neat park. We do the same thing; we just ride thru the different parks in our area for something to do and enjoy getting out of the house. I'm thankful you had help cleaning up the wind damage. Sending prayers and love to you both. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Mildred. yes, the help was a blessing. Today was another work out. Getting softener salt and getting it to the basement and into the softener. I always feel like my arm are longer after that. LOL I am hoping my next dentist appt goes well and not root canal on top of a root canal. Blessings to you and your husband, hope you get out this weekend for some fresh air. We sat out some yesterday and today. Heaven. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteWE don't have pretty water towers here. I enjoyed seeing them when we traveled to other states years ago. So sorry about your dentist nightmare. I had a similar problem and now have an upper and lower partial with the teeth that had to come out. It's a hassle but better than pain and root canals that fail. Love and Hugs..stay well.
ReplyDeleteWanda, I know what you are saying. I have had double root canal on one tooth ..that's nuts. I have a few teeth that have not got fillings, crowns or root canals. But fewer than the teeth that do have work. I hope you have afun weekend . I am loving the fresh air here today. We sat out yesterday and today , after all the lifting and chores. I took 3 bags of softener salt to the basement...my arms are four feet long now. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteDental woes...ugh. No, there is not one medical person on the planet who can do it all. It's a big $$$$ making scheme from what I can see. I wish we still had family doctors who cared for patients all their lives long. No such thing anymore.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are getting out. Children need to get out, too. Fresh air and lots of sunshine. Remember those old stories about needing dirt and germs to develop a strong immune system? I think it's still true..
Vee. You hit the nail on the head girl. Yes I believe the dirt and exposure thing too. But now I think kids are weaker. Oh Vee, I once had a doctor who could diagnose any thing and tend to it and my dentist now...well his father was my first dentist and did everything in the smallest office. Where are all those genus men. Blessings for a great weekend. xoxo, Susie
DeleteWell, I don't think the XR will kill you but I sure don't envy you the upcoming dental work. How totally annoying after the really great appointment. I'm surprised the XR then didn't show anything but teeth are weird that way. At least you got out! Good luck, Susie.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. Oh my fear of the dentist is turning into total dread. I think all dentist should now have 3-D x-ray machine. But the Endodontist charges 200 dollars per tooth when he does that. I have had one . Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh sweet Laurie, Thank you for the prayers. I need everyone I can get. I am truly grateful too. I actually pray while in the chair. I was happy that the city put the banners up of the graduating class. Blessings, stay safe, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about all the dental work you need done. I've had bad teeth all my life! I've an appointment coming up, but, I am going to try and postpone it, as I don't want to go out during this time!
ReplyDeleteI am not at ease going to places. But when it comes to my teeth, I am more afraid of losing them. I just feel at times like "what more can I do?" I brush , floss use a rinse. I have many styles of brushes. I get my teeth cleaned , x-rayed, and checked by the dentist twice a year. Still I have issues. I think it's from my childhood of malnutrition. I just keep plugging along and hoping I can keep what I have . Wishing you a safe trip and from your dentist too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh no! I'm so sorry you have had so many trips to the dentist. That's not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYes, the town looks so pretty! I think our parks are open now. Take care, sweet Susie!
Thank you. I will have seen 4 different dentist in less than two weeks. Totally insane. Just writing is starting to make denture sound good. Hope you get to enjoy some fresh air time outside. That has been my help...just sitting on the porch , bird watching. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh what a nightmare with the dentist. Have you every used a water pic? They work great once you get the hang of it. First time I used one there was water all over the bathroom!!
ReplyDeleteHappy, That made me laugh. Kind of made me think of when I wanted to color my hair for the first time. I squeezed that bottle of color and it went on the curtains not my head. LOL I think a water pic would be better than floss. I may get one. Thank you. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt is good that things are heading to the old normal. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBUT you did hit on one of my personal gripes, Dentists . I agree give me one who can do more than one action. "The last appt. I bounced to another dentist, because this did not fall under her speciality!!!!"
Jack, by the time I see the dentist Tues. that will be 4 different ones in less than 4 weeks. Just makes me crazy. My dentist now is the son of my original dentist. Dr. Mike is good but just does not do all the dental things his dad used to do and not near as cheap. Yikes. I don't want to by my dentist a new car. LOL Take care of yourselves there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteGood to see you posting and getting out for an outing. The seniors in our town had a parade of cars . . . Receiving their diplomas at the end of the parade, being handed in through the window.
ReplyDeleteIt's 8:30 in the evening and the sky outside is bright yellow and thunder in the distance. I think we're going to have a storm too.
Hi Connie, So glad you visited me here. I miss you. Hope you are managing. I know your world is not the same, may never be as it was with your sweet Steve. I pray for you. I seem to be praying all the time. Kind like the old days when I was raising my daughters and working. Those prayers were answered. I got them raised into great young ladies. And I finished that work up and retired. LOL
DeleteTed is doing decent, no ball of fire but still trying. I encourage him to keep at it. I have him walking more and riding that exercise bike less...cause his shoulder was hurting him form the arm movements. Blessings to you sweet friend, love you, xoxo, Susie
My husband just went to the dentist yesterday. He felt like something was wrong in there. After answering a ton of questions over the phone and filling out a long form about Covid-19 symptoms, they finally saw him. Fortunately, there wasn't a thing wrong... but now he knows. Hope you get your problems resolved. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, I have to go to the dentist when I feel somethings wrong...cause it usually means it is. But all the go here, go there, just makes me nuts. Oh hey do check for covid everywhere. Plus you sit in your car and they call you on the cell and tell you to come in. Better safe than sorry. Well there we are back to going to the dentist. LOL. Blessings, happy for your hubby, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh I am so sorry about your dental problems! Listen, if you ever break a tooth, you will be like me...careful, careful of ANYTHING that might be hard! (No hard granola bars, no nuts...etc!)I learned this the hard way! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope all works out for you! XXX
Kay, A granola bar is why I have an implant. Yes, I have to be careful of things...but sometimes, Even cereal will have an over baked piece in it. Guess I better eat oatmeal. Hope you are all well there and having some great summer days. I always think of you up on that mountain. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSorry to hear about the wind damage and dentist troubles! I have a molar that broke in half eating hard candy (dumb I know) it was all a 30 year old filling...I need to get in and get it fixed. My dentist retired retired, and with the move I figure I might as well start over with a dentist in the new town. I used to have dreams my teeth were falling out and it's coming true lol.
ReplyDeleteOMG Linda, I have had those dreams too. Scary. I have a good smile, but I like to eat too. LOL The periodontist made me feel like I was good to go...three days later I break that molar. I am afraid my dentist maybe leaving his practice. As I was sitting in the dental chair at Ted's dentist(already in pain), she told me my dentist has lung cancer. I cried right there. When I got to the car, I was sobbing, Ted was baffled till I could get my breath. My dentist went to school with my brother and son-in-law, I love that kid. I may not have like some of the things, like not finding a problem soon enough, but I love Dr. Mike. So I too will be looking for a new dentist, I fear. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAww...that is sad news...sometimes it just gets overwhelming. Hope he will be okay.
DeleteDental problems are such a bother. I cracked a tooth and had to have a crown - just the kind of unexpected thing you hate to spend money on but... necessary. Hope you can work it out without a lot of pain and fuss. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Ellen, I too want less pain and fuss. I sure do not want a string of appts. I always get so tense at the dentist, I could just be sick. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh, Susie!! I am so sorry about the dental problems!! I don't like dental appointments and now that I do not have any teeth.....still, do what you can to keep yours as long as you possibly can. Makes you wonder if these dentists know anything!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel there needs to be a place where you go in, see two three maybe four dental experts and they fix you right up. Not all this running around, in this time of covid, it makes it worse. Plus I am big chicken. My dentist says we should keep our own as long as we possibly can because it helps from aging too quickly. Gaaa, I think it's too late for that, for me. LOL Blessings , love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe have had a lot of wind this spring and I am getting tired of it. Your pictures, look like such a pretty day. I guess I join the group with my dislike for dentists!. Stay safe and take care of your self.
ReplyDeleteHi Nonie, I guess more people are afraid of the dentist than any other doctor. WE seem to be having more winds. I think too many woods and forests are being cut. I have to tie, nail, or weigh things down our here in the country. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh, it sounds like the storm was a pretty big one, Susie. That was nice of Ted's brother to come over and help out after. Those are nice banners that they hung around your town. I'm glad you were able to get out and visit the park. It looks peaceful. I've been staying at home lately too, but me and Nel took a drive and ended up at a college campus - it was the college she went to for many years and she wanted to show it to me.
ReplyDeleteStay well, Susie, and enjoy these June days. Summer goes by fast. : )
~Sheri
Sheri, I truly want to enjoy every evening this week. Because summer will be here on Saturday and the days start to get sorter. I always love seeing the sunshine till after 9:30 . Long days. Love that. How fun for you and Nel to visit her old campus. Two of my daughters went to IU and I will always love that Bloomington campus. Take care sweet girl, love you, Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
DeleteJust had my teeth cleaned and that's enough for me for now! I was past due due to COVID. GRR! Hope you and Ted have a great week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy. I had my check up, cleaning and measuring the first of Feb. before the shut down here in Indiana. Thankfully even with all my woes, the dentist had started to open slowly and we very clean and cautious. It's a scary world. I go for cleanings and twice a year. Never in the chair long, cause I truly do brush and care for my teeth. Blessings to you and your family. Enjoy this week. We are to have beautiful weather. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteGood Grief, regarding the dentists. I hear you. The same thing happened to us last year with my son Atticus regarding his finger. He had an accident at work. We had to see 3 different doctor about it.
Good luck with everything.
Thank you Carla. I saw 4 different dentist in less than 3 weeks. It's insane. My old dentist could do everything, and my old doctor was a G.P. and the diagnostician ever . Knew it all. Did surgeries too. Delivered babies even. It's as if medicine is needing teams to take care of us. So make clinics where you go in one door and come out the the back door and be fine. Gee. All the run around makes me nuts. LOL. Any more that is a short trip to nuts for me. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deleteoh the dentist, so dreadful and so expensive!! my dentist will however pull teeth and do root canal...i'm sure you have guessed how i know that!! good luck susie!!
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie. It's good to know where you go to have root canals. The dentist I saw today got to two different cities and will ask you to his home office where he does those 200 dollars 3-D x-rays. That's for one tooth . Blessings to you . xoxo, Susie
Deletebest wishes to you susie!!!
DeleteI do feel badly for the seniors. I read about a few towns that had the seniors photos displayed in town and love it.
ReplyDeleteGraduation was Friday for our schools. The street in front of our historic ocean view City Hall was closed off to only the family cars. One student walked down the beautiful steps at a time and received their diploma while the families watched from their car windows. The word I had from friends was that it was really cool.
It's great that cities are making some efforts for the seniors to get their diplomas. I hope each kid gets to keep the banner with their photo on it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie, my heart is with you on the tooth issue. I go three times a year and it's kept things stable. I missed April and know I need to reschedule.
ReplyDeleteI feel so badly for people missing graduations and reunions. One of my friend went to a virtual 40th reunion. I know it's the best we can do now, but so far from the real things. Love to you and Ted!
Thank you Carol. I did not get a good report today. Need more work on a tooth that had had a root canal and crown. Why? I swear I would have my teeth pulled if I was guaranteed I could get some nice fitting dentures. LOL. Hope your report and visit is better than I had. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
Deleteoh GOSH your poor mouth!! Yikes! Hope all goes well at the next procedure. I went through a bunch of that back in the Fall, and one of my procedures was cancelled when everything shut down, it's not been rescheduled yet. I am in no hurry anyway, LOL! That is a great idea of a way to honor the Seniors, I love it! I cannot even imagine not having graduation, it was a real big deal for us back in the day!! You work so hard to earn that diploma. Like you, I feel bad for this year's graduates to have that taken away from them.
