There's been lots of soybean harvesting happening in our county. The big fields on the corner are done. They stir up dust and pests. Can not sit out , things bite. My daughter calls them "No see'ums"
My daughter Liz came over on Wednesday . She brought Lynzie , Max and Luke. Ted and I wore masks, we sat outside. We watched the boys play hop-scotch and a game that Lynzie draws for them on driveways in chalk. They have lily pads to jump on, bear tracks to bear crawl and dinosaur tracks to stomp and roar.. The boys took their shoes off of course and started to get to quick. Luke falls down and bumps his head and I tell Lynzie, take him in and wash him up. She did not want to germ up the house, so sad. I told her, I will wipe things down. It's ok. Washed Luke and an ice pack on his noggin and he was good to go.
Speaking of Luke, I want to ask for prayers for our little fellow. He was to have polyps removed from his sinuses last week. His dr. got Covid...so Luke's surgery will be on the 30th. He had to has a covid test Yesterday. Lynzie tries to prepare him for any medical procedures. She told him he was to get his nose and throat tickled. He said, "Not today mommy, that hurts." Lynzie had to hold him down for the nurse to swab his nose. Poor Luke. The polyps are one of the things that can happen with Cystic Fibrosis. So will you please send good thoughts and or prayers for our Luke. We all truly appreciate your kindness.
Seems more places are opening up. Yet, my granddaughters' school has closed due to three positive covid cases. Go figure. So please be safe . XO
Will definitely say some prayers for your Luke that he gets the needed surgery and all goes well. What a delight our grandchildren are. They make our days so much brighter.
ReplyDeleteMy heart has ached since the children were here. To hear Luke's voice , as if he is all stuffy in his nose. It s caused by the polyps. It hurts me. I wish I could do so much more for him. I send the greats cards with sticker and a dollar for their banks every now and then. It's just to create a memory of papaw and I for them. They do remember too. Thank you so much for your kind prayers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLoving thoughts and prayers for Luke, happy to see you got to spend some time with family Susie.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sue
Sue, Seeing Max , who will be 5 in Dec. and Luke who is 3...did our us so much good. They asked things and talk like they are interested in what you say. So funny at times. I always use a germ cleaning mix to wipe the doors , handles, knobs or anything that has a flat surface . LOL I smell of bleach all the time. But it was so nice to see the boys. Blessings and thank you for your thoughts and prayers. xoxo, Susie
DeletePrayers for Luke to get his procedure done ASAP. My Granddaughter had to have the Covid test this week, it was negative thankfully! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa. Luke has been thru a lot of health issues with his C.F. Two of my granddaughters and our oldest great grandgirl are in the same school that just got closed for the 3 cases there. I worry for the all the children of this world. Praying all the time too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteY'all stay safe too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri. It's hard distance at times...so Ted and I will wear masks all the time. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteDoes Luke have C.F.? I am so sorry! We watched a little girl, Ella, who had C.F. From the time she was born till she was 7. So I learned a lot about it. I will say a special prayer for him, and the upcoming surgery. and for him to have peace and not be so scared. How old is he? Your first picture is beautiful!! We have the noseeums, and I have been bit quite a lot this year!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ginny, our Luke has C.F. He is a three years old. Has been for tests and stays in the hospital a few times in his short 3 years. He has one of those vests and wears it. I just learn last year about distancing children with C.F. Our granddaughter Lynzie is a R.N. She and her husband are great parents. But I always worry for Luke's health. Thank you for the prayers.
DeleteOh those biting things make me crazy. I need to stain the deck floors and I do not want to if those bugs are out. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
How lovely to have family visit you! Aw, poor Luke; hope his surgery goes well.
ReplyDeleteIs that a picture of your porch? It looks so pretty, all decorated for fall.
Thank you for your good thoughts. I will post about Luke's surgery when he has it. No that is my daughter Lizzy's front porch. She is Luke's grandmother and I am his great grandmother. Blessings to you, be safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSending prayers for your sweet Luke, I hope he recovers nicely.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the dust coming across the fields from the harvest. We seem to be having more than opur fair share of dust this time of the year, a little more rain would help methinks.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend Susie, time is marching on, it will be Christmas before we know it !
Hugs,
~Jo
Jo, I wish our holidays could be family affairs again. I sure miss all the hugs , laughs and enjoyment. Thank you Jo for your kind prayers for our Luke. He is a wonderful 3 yr old.
DeleteYes those fields of crops have been super dusty from lack of enough rains around here. Blessings, stay safe, xoxo,Susie
Prayers & positive thoughts for Luke. I can imagine the havoc made in the local air with the harvesting, especially at the speed things are done in this day.
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys got to see the kids. The best also to you and Bro Ted!
Love from down this way.
Sherry & jack
Thank you Jack and Sherry for your prayers. Luke is a trooper at only 3 years of age.We are praying he will let his parents use a neetie pot on him after surgery to keep the blood cleared out or he may have to have his sinuses worked on again. Oh you won't be able to see the road at times when it's this dusty at harvest time. Take care, stay safe. xoxo, Susie
Deletep.s. keep us all up to date on the RV repairs.Wishing you well there.
Hi, We have "No seeums" here in New York, they can be awful but we also have tiny "Black Flies" who bite and leave Blood Drops, We don't get that "Dust" up here from Harvest as it is mostly Corn. Sounds like a Good Time except for Luke's dilema! Prayers for All !! Gary
ReplyDeleteThank you Gary for the prayers. Yes, it was starting to have some distance visits from the children. I sure had been needing to see those little great grandsons. Oh I have been in Michigan when the black flies bite. The pests are awful. I have outside chores that need done before winter. Thank care and stay safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeletePrayers for Luke, definitely! So sorry he had to endure the Covid test.:-( Sending lots of hugs your way!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nellie. Our Luke is a sweet boy, he is 3 years old. He sure tries his best to go with the flow, but it's hard at times. Thank you for the sweet hugs and prayers. Blessings, be safe, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHave said a prayer for Luke!!
ReplyDeleteThere are a few soy bean fields around here but mostly corn and that is for the animals.
Thank you for the prayers for Luke. W will be happy to have the surgery over with. Hoping he will not have to do that again. Plus that Covid test. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMany prayers for you an dyour family and precious Luke!! That had to be hard!
ReplyDeleteSO glad you were able to see them in person! What a day it will be when you can all be a family together as you were before Covid.....and even longer....
Linda, I know that God did not want us to be so lonely. It was so fun to watch the great grandsons playing and listening to the giggles. Luke is 3 and so brave at that young age. Some times his mommy promises him a donut for being brave and it just makes him smile so big. Ted is a bit strong, even just a tiny bit each new day. His counts were really good except for his platelets. But I am sure they will rise soon. Thanks for always praying for us here. It means the world to us. Blessings to all of you. Love you guys, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLouis Dean and I love you like we are family. I am so proud of y'all and the way you have lived this very difficult time. Praying that God will 'restore the years that the locust has eaten.' The best years are just ahead.....
DeleteOh my heart goes out to Luke and his family. I pray all goes well. How nice that you got a chance to visit!
ReplyDeleteCovid is still here and showing up uninvited =(( Can't wait to be rid of it for good!
Please take care, Susie! Always good to hear from you.
Thank you Doris. I know you will watch out for the Virus and stay safe. When we worry for the children, we have to be super safe. I am going to distance, wash hands , and wear masks for a long time to come. It was so fun to see the boys playing and hear them laughing. Thank you for the prayers. Luke is a brave 3 year old. His parents are very good about explaining things he will be going thru. But I think he knew it was not going to tickle his nose. We are ready for him to get the surgery to be better, because he always sounds so stuffed up. Blessings to you and your family, be safe. xoxo, Susie
DeletePoor little guy. Yes, saying a prayer for Luke that he'll be feeling ever so much better stat.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee. It is hard to watch our loved ones suffer, especially when it's a child. Luke's been sounding so stuffy in his nose and he has a hard time breathing and sleeping. It's been tough. So we are ready for him to get surgery and start his recovery. Blessings to you, hope and pray you are doing well . Be safe, xoxo, Susie
DeleteBless his heart. Those polyps are painful. I have had them in my nose before but its been a long time ago. I still do not know anyone who has gotten Covid. I know one person that tested positive for it but never showed signs and everyone including her boyfriend tested negative. Yet we still stay aware and away from people.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Lisa
Thank you Lisa for good thoughts. Yes we do have to stay alert about Covid. I will be one happy Nana when it's gone. I honestly want all the children of the world to have a normal life. They need to play and enjoy the outdoors and their friends. Blessings, stay safe, xoxo, Susie
DeletePoor little Luke. It's so sad to see children sick. I hope things go well with him and his doctor.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy. It is hard to see children suffer. Only surgery can help him. We are ready to have that behind him . Blessings to you and Joe, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. Luke is truly in need of the surgery. He has troubles breathing and sleeping. He is 3 years old. I think everyone is ready for the Covid to be gone from our lives. Blessings to you, be safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie- It is great to have Family over for visiting. Hope little Luke gets better. We've no new cases of the virus here in New South Wales- and they are even thinking of having the New Years Fire Works for Sydney Harbor...we're lucky - though we take all the recommended precautions. Best wishes to you Susie and Hubby Ted. Regards. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThank you for goos wishes for our LUke. He is only 3 years old and in need of this surgery. He has troubles breathing and sleeping because of those polyps. My gosh we have worn masks long before Covid was heard about. Ted had abone marrow transplant and we have had to watch any illnesses . His labs were good this last week. The platelets were low and yet I think they will improve, since he isn't getting maintenance chemo. Stay safe there and blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThank you Laurie. We are grateful for your prayers. Seems we are all needing them . I send some up for you and yours too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletePrayers for your precious Luke.
ReplyDeleteSeems there are so many difficulties with this horrid COVID.
I'm glad you got to be out with family..masks and all.
We need to be together for our own mental health.
Take care.
Sue
Thank you for your kind prayers. Yes, seeing the boys play and hearing their laughter just made me smile all day. Ted and I needed that bit of family time. I can still see the chalky footprints of the boys in the drive...that tugs at my heart. Praying the Covid will be gone from our world one day soon. Blessings, be safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love the sound of hearing the word HARVESTING...poor darling...surgery for polyps...so very young to go through this...sending a prayer...hugs from Texas Susie!
ReplyDeleteThank for the prayers and hugs Betsy. Our Luke has C.F. that is why he has polyps in his sinuses. He can not sleep well and breathing is difficult. Tomorrow is his surgery. A few more fields got harvested this past weekend. It will soon be country roads so full of dust. Blessings, stay safe , xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh mercy! Will say a prayer for your Luke. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

DeletePrayers for Luke, those nose swab tests are horrible. Poor little guy, hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nonie. He is a trooper and fighter. He only 3 yrs. old and has had some rough times from the C.F. Blessings and hugs to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI am sending prayers for Luke!
ReplyDeleteMy friend Deb has to have a stress test. The rural hospital she goes to use to do stress test, but is not during COVID, so she has to drive to the big city for it, over 2 hours away.
Luke's surgery will be at the children hospital in Indianapolis. He is 3 yrs old and has C.F. Thank you sweet Carla for your prayers. I will pray for your friend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie...my prayers are with Luke. The poor little guy. And for Mommy, having to worry about him. It’s never easy is it??
ReplyDeleteYes, I think those bugs are terrible. I too have bites I think from them. COVID is so terrible. I hate what it is doing to the children. Yes school—No school. Praying for them.
You two take care.
Gert
Thank you Gert. I am grateful to friends like you who pray for others. Our blog family has lots of power with their prayers. Luke will get to have his mom and dad there while getting surgery, but once he goes into a room after surgery, one parent has to go home. Mark usually goes home with Max. I pray for the children of this world. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteSusie, I'm so glad the grands got to come over to see you and that you had a good time. These times are so hard on everybody. My prayers to little Luke, what a shame that a sweet boy has to go through all that. They just can't understand but neither do I sometimes. Sorry your little granddaughter had to leave her friends and classmates. What did they think was going to happen?? Kids don't understand that either..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, I still worry about the schools. It's not like kids are going to school and then staying home...I see parents taking them to the stores. Too many exposures. I am shocked that Luke's doctor caught Covid...and wonder where. Thank you for the prayers. I am so anxious for Luke to be able to sleep better and his breathing be normal. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear about little Luke's pollops. I hope everything goes well with the surgery. So good that you got to visit with Liz and the kids. It's Fall, and I always wonder if you ever miss going to your favorite store, Horton's? I know how much you love browsing in there. I have been looking for house décor and Fall stuff on-line at Home Goods and Target, etc. Sending little Luke a hug and a prayer.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Thank you Sheri for your kind hugs and prayers for Luke. I will post about his recovery. I do miss going to Horton's. I have not bought anything but food and home cleaning , repairing things. Boring. I would love to just go and shop...But I get all tense going to the grocery. You and your family are in my prayers. I have cried about the fires there in your state...it's breaking our hearts. Blessings to all of you sweet friend. stay safe. xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteThank you for the prayers for the fires in Calif. I'm like you, Susie, I haven't gone shopping in a long time. Just buy groceries and household items. I'm sure you will go to Horton's again in the future, but for now, we just have to make do. Blessings to you too, dear friend. ~Sheri
DeletePraying now for sweet Luke!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie. Yes, we will pray for little Luke. How scary for him. We get a lot of dust herem but not from harvest. Tuesdays and Thurs. they mow and blow the complex. Gets so dusty even with the widows closed. How does it get in!! Things are opening up some here. Don and I went to church Sunday. It felt so good.
ReplyDeleteWanda, Thank you for the prayers. I love opening windows to air out our house. But when it is planting or harvest time I do open them. So glad you could go toy our church. Blessings, be safe, xoxo, love, Susie
