Luke has been a happy boy most all the time.
His grandmother"Gigi" did this to his hair and compared him to big boy burger kid.
Here I am after a bit of playing with Luke . I always sleep better after playing on the floor with great grandkids.
This was a couple years ago on the family vacation. Granddaughter Lynzie and her awesome husband Mark, with big brother Max and Little brother Luke.
Last Halloween squeezing in with papaw Ted. I love this picture.
Lynzie sent this to us and we had a good laugh. Toe sucking instead of eating lunch.
Yesterday was Luke's surgery, to remove polyps in his sinuses. I cried a lot yesterday. Lynzie sent photos of him in the car, on the way to the hospital, saying, "Mommy I am hungry, I don't want my nose fixed". Then one of him playing on a little push car thing the hospital uses for children. A picture of the nurse pushing him in that car with his blanket going to surgery, without his parents ...he went peacefully. Later there was a picture of him sleeping. There was dried blood around his nostrils. His mommy got to stay with him at the hospital. He will probably be home some time today. I wanted to thank all of you for the prayers and good wishes for our Luke. You all have been so very kind, my heart is full. Bless you. XO
You have a lovely family. Prayers that the surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteDeb, His surgery did go well. He is getting ready to go at this time. I hope he got something to eat. Blessings and thank you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat an adorable little great. It sure does hurt our hearts to see them struggle in any way. Praying for him and all the family and how good to have that over with!
ReplyDeleteOh Vee, you are so right..it does hurt our hearts when little ones are ill or need surgery. Luke is being dismissed from the hospital this morning. Hooray and thank the Lord. Blessings to you, be safe, xoxo, Susie
Deletethis was such a great post, he is beyond adorable!! the toe sucking picture was my favorite, made me laugh out loud!! that is a sweet picture of the 2 of you...and the one with papaw!!!
ReplyDeletei hope he recovers quickly and can go home today!!
Debbie, I always say "Ain't that right papaw" when I look at the picture of Ted and Luke in the chair together. The way Luke is looking at Ted. Oh him sucking his toe at the table cracked us up. Isn't that just like a boy? Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteThanks you for the update. What a relief to know that it is over and he did well!! Now I think he likely needs lots of ice-cream! He did look just like Bob's Big Boy! You are doing good to play with your grandkids, I cannot even get down or up from the floor now. The last time I accidentally ended up on the floor, we almost had to call the fire department!
ReplyDeleteGinny, I think Luke deserves some ice cream too. He did very well ..even though he was hungry and sleepy. He is getting to go home this morning. Thank God. The prayers sure do help us thru. Do not get on the floor again honey. Maybe it's the getting down and then back up that makes me sleep so well. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteGlad to hear all went well with the surgery. One of my grandson's also had to have that done. Praise be to God for all his blessings !

ReplyDeleteWe never like to hear about kids having surgery, but I am glad to hear they can do things like this when the are needed, especially now when a lot of hospital visits are being postponed.
Oh yes, Sandi. I was afraid it would get canceled again. Once Luke's dr. got Covid I thought he would have to wait again...But another dr did the surgery. I am thanking our Lord. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy Daughter had Polyps in her sinus cavity on right side and had them removed, she is 53 now. Glad we had it done !

DeleteHi Suzie! :) Oh, wishing Luke all the best in his recovery. I wonder if surgery is easier for kids because they don't know what it's all about!
ReplyDeleteRain, Thank you honey for good wishes for Luke. His mom text this Sunday that he was breathing so much easier. Thank God. I think with good breathing he will sleep better also. He sure was brave for a little guy. Hope you are doing well and enjoying fall. Stay safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie, I'm so far behind in my blog reading. Bless sweet Luke and his parents! Yes, I teared up just reading what you wrote about. My youngest daughter went into surgery too many times when she was young. It was SOOO hard letting them take her! Our second daughter had several surgeries as a young adult and I tell you that was also hard. Hard on a mama!! I pray Luke is recovering now and the worst is behind them.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to hear from you, my friend!
Thank you Doris. too have been thru the mommy scares of children in surgery. It's worse than surgery on ourselves. Luke did well and is home recovering pretty well. He did not like take the antibiotics for the infection in his sinuses but his parents tried every trick. He is kind of resolved to it and does the netipot nasal rinses too. Thank you always for your kind prayers. Blessings to all of you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm so glad the surgery went well. You have a lovely family!

ReplyDeleteDebbi, Luke is doing very well. He seemed his old self this weekend...playing like normal...fusses about taking meds, but still falls for the tricks of the mommy trade , as in getting kids to take meds. LOL. I love getting pictures of all the family...but oh those little guys really make my heart sing. Blessings, stay safe there. xoxo, Susie

DeleteOh, I'm so sorry Luke had to go through all this, Susie. These are the most precious pictures of him. I love the one of him next to the bbb kid. I smiled when you were on the floor playing with him because Francesca wanted me to read her a book this weekend, and I said to her, "Ok, but grandma has to get some pillows to sit on first." haha I hope Luke heals nicely, and I just said a prayer for him. Take care, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove ya,
~Sheri
Thank you so much Sheri. You know the love of being a grandmother, it is very strong. We only want good things and happiness for our families. Luke is healing and doing very well. His mom puts his meds in a bit of ice cream. LOL When the polyps were removed he also had an infection, so that's why the meds. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, stay safe. Love , Susie

ReplyDeleteThank you Judy. Luke is doing so well. I am thankful for all the sweet wishes and prayers. I am really wanting to hug my little guys...this Virus is a curse to our world. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh my, this is the first I heard of the surgery, and I know how traumatized we grandparents can be...I went thru it when my grandson had ioen-heart surgery at 5 months of age. But, on a happy nite, the photos you shared are priceless. (We will have to teach her how to make spaghetti he'd like *wink)
ReplyDelete...happy Note
Delete...not nite

Anni, Thank you so much. I just hate to think of babies and little fellows having surgery. I pray your grandson is doing well. I still laugh about Lynzie's spaghetti. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
