Remembering Past Autumns....

These pictures are from about 3 years ago....when I could visit Horton's.  I love seeing vender markets. The crafts are so cute and clever. Aren't those towels and pillows cute?
Wooden spoons painted to look like jack-o-lanterns.  Cheap fun craft for kids even.
I have seen some of these cans on porches for decorations. I like them. No, I am not buying any. I am about done ever buying decorations. I just keep painting and making over my old decorations.
Yes, there's rows of mums out at the markets. But these past two days we have had freeze and frost warnings.  So I hope they got covered.
As I look at these cans, I think we could paint food cans ourselves. LOL. They would not hold a big mum plant but you could stick some fake flowers in them.  Just for a bit of Halloween.

I have been trying to watch the trees changing and enjoy them. We had a couple nights of frost and hard freezing.  Rains may be on the way soon, and the leaves will fall quickly.  The  framers are harvesting like mad.  We can see a lot farther with the crops down.  Our neighbor and his uncle do a fine job with just the two of them working their fields.

Luke is still on the mend and  happy to be so much better. His mom says he has not complained about his nose hurting any more. Ted is slowly gaining some energy. His P. T. has helped his sore shoulder . He's about recovered full use of his arm. No one has said how it happened. Who knows? Just as in my fractured foot...who knows.( Ted says from me kicking him ) I am better also. The news is good here and we are forever grateful for all the kindness shown to us thru prayers and well wishes. Thank you all.  Please stay safe . XO

    1. It was good to be able to say we are healing here. Especially Luke and Ted...They have been thru a lot. You know it hurts us to see children suffer. I see my Ted getting a bit stronger each week. He can help carry in groceries now...that has been awhile for him.
I really thought those spoons would be so fun to make. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Ginny, Horton's is the name of the family that owns and runs a store in town. They have a greenhouse area, custom blind service and an emporium like store. They also make homemade fudges of every flavor under the sun. LOL
We are doing our best to get well and stay that way..it's an all day job around here. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. Frost coming tonight and I am hauling in my petunias because, after this, it will be another week before another. It does look a little summery out there in the midst of the autumn decor. I love seeing beautiful mums all in a row. We had none available and, suddenly, this week, they're back.

Now stop kicking Ted and all will be right in your world. 😁

    1. Vee, Ted is going to love hearing you said that about kicking him. LOL Gosh, it has seemed like one struggle after another around here for the past two years . It is doing us both good for Ted to get his energy back . He can carry groceries now. Today we cleaned off his work bench and sorted some things. We do it together...it helps. Our Luke is like a new boy, his mom says he is running and climbing again. Yes he is a boy, that's what they do. LOL We needed to hear that too.
I gave some of my mums to my daughter and I have just two colors now. ..so we drive by the market and I look at theirs. LOL. Blessings, stay safe and healthy. xoxo, Susie

  12. What a nice trip down memory lane Susie! I haven't been to Bath & Body Works since last year and the pandemic happened. I miss going inside the store smelling and shopping for candles. Safety comes first. Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Pilar, You are so right. We need to think of our family's safety . Nothing we buy at the stores is worth the risk. I like the curb pick up. That is how we get our meds. More place of business are becoming accommodating , with pick service or deliveries. Took a little drive , saw people playing in the park and golfers on the course. :) Blessings to you sweet girl, stay safe,, xoxo, Susie

  17. Oh, I bet you miss browsing through Horton's, Susie, and seeing all their holiday goodies. The row of Mums are so pretty. They remind me of Fall. The frost sounds lovely in your area. It is a misty morning here and loving it also. I'm so glad little Luke is feeling better, he's so precious. It's early to be getting rains here, but it's good that they may be coming to you soon. It always cleans everything up.

    1. Yikes Carla , I am not ready for winter and that snow stuff. It's been really cold at night. Today was gloomy and it rain in the wee hours. I know we need the rain, in a bit of a draught...but at this time the farmers are trying to harvest. You should see the truck lines at Cargills. I love mums, so hardy and pretty...but they don't smell as sweet as other flowers.
Thank you for your kind prayers. They have helped us all here. I am thrilled about our Luke. Ted has 4 more PT sessions and that will be nice. Blessings to you and your family. Stay safe. xoxo, love Susie

  19. I love seeing all the decorations that Hortons offer, they have the best selections.
Autumn is moving right along, the days are lovely and warm, not hot, they remind me of an English summer.
Happy to read all is well in your little corner Susie, my granddaughter (the nurse), has just been diagnosed with COVID and so now it all begins....
It's good to hear that Ted is making progress with his strength, and hoping his shoulder continues to heal. I'm convinced the older we get, we should have come with a cupboard of spare parts :)
    Stay well dear friend,

Last time I had my eyes checked they said I had the beginning of a cataract and I am due for my next exam.
