I may have to make a couple more of these, if someone will eat the peanuts....maybe the squirrels around here. I rarely eat them.
I actually got the idea for the planters from this garden flag I have. I did fill all the plant containers around this house. I am still in the process of getting settled into town. Many things have changed since I lived here in town, about 18 years ago.
Here's an old picture of one of our family gatherings. Sister Pam, me , daughters, Angie and Liz. Those were always fun times. Of course my brothers would tease my sisters and me , just like old days of our youth. Do boys ever change? LOL
Wishing all of you out there great family fun and good health. Be safe. XO
Hi, Susie! I love to see your flowers! It’s really good to read a post from you! It takes awhile to settle after a move. Always sending you special hugs and love!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nellie. I want to start blogging again. I miss all of my blog family. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo happy to see your comment on my blog and read this post! Hope you will soon be settled in after moving.
ReplyDeleteJan, I donated, gave and even tossed a ton of things away and yet I feel I still own too much. I should be sorting everyday. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLove the planters. I could do this with some old plastic Folgers coffee containers. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteDebby, The coffee containers would be great. Ted kept nails, screws, and all kinds of odds and ends in those peanut containers. Being square they stacked nicely. I liked the plastic because if he dropped one, there would be no broken glass. Blessings for a great weekend. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo nice to see a post from you and I love the planters. There are so many ways we can recycle old containers. Hope you enjoy your 4th of July too!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter took me to bird watch and see some buffalo in Northern Indiana. We went on Saturday and it was not as hot as it had been. We saw some birds I had never seen before. Such fun. Hope your weekend was great. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHello! Loved seeing your festive photos today. Have a lovely Fourth of July!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brenda. I hope your holiday was fun. I think people in this neighborhood played all night with fireworks. Yikes. Poor pets are probably still under their beds. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSuch a great idea, although I'm afraid my artwork would not be as near impressive as yours :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture of you and your family, you all have such beautiful smiles. Happy 4th July holiday to you and yours sweet friend.
Hugs,
~Jo
Jo, I missed our usual 4th Holiday. But had some fun with daughter # 2. We went up north here in Indiana and saw buffalo and many new bird sightings. Then had a nice meal in a new place to us. Enjoy this sweet day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou interpreted the flags on peanut containers so well...even better than the flag portrayed. I am eyeing my peanut container and wondering. I save big containers like that for many uses...nails, odds and ends, leftovers needing to be binned. I think that your purpose is far more noble. So you are moving? That sounds exciting and busy. Nice to see you here, Susie.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, Ted would use those containers for everything in his shop. They stack so well. I used to ask if he ate the peanuts for the containers or used the containers to justify eating so many peanuts. I sure miss my sweetheart. Hope you are doing well and having joy in your life. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy 4th to you, too! I love your painted peanut planters! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see this post from you. I didn't know you moved! I hope you are able to settle into your new place soon. Looking forward to seeing more posts from you! :)
Thank you honey. Hope you are doing well. Having some great family time at this holiday. Oh I have a long way to go in unpacking...still need to sort and donate. We human gather way too many "things". Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's wonderful to hear from you. I think of you all the time and pray for you. I know it's been a hard time of you so I'm glad to see you are still close to your family and friends. Have a wonderful holiday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane. I think of all of my blog family, miss each of you. I did move and my daughter who took me sight seeing this weekend will be moving to Seattle and she will stay with me for about 2 weeks before she takes that journey. I miss my very best friend and sweetheart Ted. Still cry but not all day. So I am getting stronger . Thanks to God, I pray so much sure hope the lord never gets tired of hearing from me. :):) Take care of each other there and keep hiking, love seeing all that you see. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

DeleteAlways so good to hear from you, Susie! Your peanut planters are so creative. The idea coming from a flag, clever!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to look back and remember. Sending hugs your way on this 4th of July!
Thank you Doris. I saw that your family enjoyed their 4th. It was a holiday meant for family fun. I did spend it with my second daughter. We had a good weekend, birding, looking at a herd of buffalo and general sight seeing. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie...so good to see your post! Good for you! I sure was happy to chat with you last week via email. Your little planter cans are so cute. It's so hot today, I am staying inside! Did some water color painting. Hope you will have a nice day, my friend. Love to you. Debbie xxoo
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, I use to love doing water colors and really should get back to it. I donate a huge roll of water color paper, a hundred dollars worth to the art dept at school. The teacher said the kids loved how much better their art work looked on it , made it even easier to paint. That just made me smile. I heard from my brother again. He said the heat continues there in Alabama. So yes, stay cool and
Deleteenjoy some porch living. Blessings to you sweet friend. xox, love, Susie
