October A Busy Month.....

Here are some old sunsets and a sunrise from the days I lived in the country.  You can not get this in town.
I miss sitting on the porch and seeing the horizon.  It's all so different now. In town your sunsets are on rooftops. Just not the same great views.
In this shot the corn is still standing. It's been harvested in that field already.  I some times take a drive to just enjoy views I can no long see.
Today we gathered at my oldest daughter's house for all the birthdays and Angie and Mark's anniversary.  It was a celebration for Ricky, Sierra, and Finnlee's birthdays. Finn is 4 and he and his cousins Leo 6 and Meadow 3,found a caterpillar and took turns holding it. They seemed  be enjoying it. I just loved the whole day. I pitched baseballs to the boys , so they could practice swinging the bat. The weather was nice and warm, but it was a bit windy. Have to love these pretty days. Being with family made it perfect. Hope all of you had a great day too. XO

  4. Good for you on Ricky, Sierra, and Finnlee's happy birthday. Love Finn for a namel I saw a caterpillar yesterday just like that, stepped around it. It brought back memories of my childhood.
Good to see the alert and yes there is a big difference in sunsets according to where you are. Seeing the horizon makes worlds of difference.
    Love from a cool Florida

    1. Jack, We had every kind of weather this year. So praying for a long sweet fall season. I can do without shoveling snow for awhile. LOL When the grands played with the caterpillar we all started talking about catching bugs in jars and such. Made for some fun laughs. My daughter Liz took her jar of bugs to the neighbors and they asked if it was fireflies. Liz said , no it's my pinching bugs. She had about 10 of the things. :) Cuddle up to your sweet Sherry and get warm there. Blessings to you both, xoxo, Susie

  5. I agree, the view from the porch is not as nice when you live in town. I love looking out over the fields in the country. The stars are also more visible in the country with no lights on anywhere. There is nothing better than to enjoy time with the family! I can hardly wait until Thanksgiving which will be when my family next gathers together. Fun times for sure!

  7. Sounds like a perfect day...It's always nice to spend time with family..I can't see sunsets in the summer because of all the trees here..The leaves will be gone soon and they will again be visible..

    1. Missy, Rain is in our near forecast, so I mowed today as the leaves will be falling. It was sunny and by the time I got done I was really warm. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Pilar, I love sunsets and sunrises. Just can't get the same views nestled in a tight neighborhood. Hope you can get some pretty views where you are. Sweetheart, I need to tell you how sorry I am about the passing of your mother. My mother's been gone a long time but I long for one more hug all the time. Pain eases but the longing stays. Hugs to you. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    2. Thank you Susie, when she died back in July I feel like a piece of my heart is gone. I miss her so much. I think about all the happy memories I shared with my mom. It still hurts, but i try to remember that she wouldn't want me to be sad.

  11. HI Susie! How fun to pitch to the boys! My arm would complain the next day but it is always worth it to do those kinds of things! I bet you do miss your views. I have to go out in the street to see the Rockies, but I'm glad I can. I hope you are having some fun outings every week and I pray you are feeling very loved because you are a sweetie pie.
