I hoed some tight spots for weeds today. Then mowed because the forecast calls for rain tonight and tomorrow. Then I went to the store for cleaning supplies and some food items. Got home and sat down and my feet were hurting. That's it, tomorrow will have to be a slower day.
This past weekend was our Pork Festival. I did not get invited to go and just did not want to go alone. I think I must have saved some money, my daughter said the food items were pricey. She drove the golf cart to town and got tenderloins for their supper.
I was invited to their house for brunch and visiting with my granddaughter from Cincinnati. It is amazing how fast the g.grands are growing. Leo is in kindergarten and Meadow is in pre-school. Meadow seemed to have taken a long time to grow her hair and now it is long enough to fix in cute little girl styles. That brings back so many memories for me. With four girls I did many a hair-do.
The weather is starting to cool down some. I am glad it's not in the high 90's. Take care friends and stay safe. XO
Lovely to see a post from you, Susie. The year is going by fast, isn't it? I have some mums growing in my garden - someone bought them for a Fall party and tossed them afterwards; a friend of mine, who tends to my garden, rescued them and planted them in my garden. I love free plants!
ReplyDelete:)
I hope you have a lovely Fall season. Take care of yourself.
Thank you Bless. I hope this last mum here spreads out...then I can split it next fall. I had lots of mums at the farm. The man who bought the farm, brought me some starts of a lilac bush I had there. I actually had two lilacs and had gotten their starts from my mom's house. She always loved them, so I hope this plant take a good root here. Take care and enjoy the cooler days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's so good to see your post, Susie. I need to get some mums, too. They're so pretty and it's time!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, I think mums are a hardy plant. They can be divided after a year or two, if they get a good start. They come in great colors too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteHi Billie, Thank you. Glad we are getting cooler weather...just hope fall last longer. I saw on weather channel you had rain go thru and now it's soaking the coast. Enjoy the outdoors now. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYes I must AMEN the other commenters. It is always great to see an alert for 'Shejunks'. Love the update and yes fall catches me with a few things left on the todo list.
ReplyDeleteThe visit to GD was sweet. I know Leo and Meadow brought some great smiles.
And NO DOUBT here that you did a lot of hair-do-s!!!

Sherry & jack smiling in NC
Hi Jack, Thank you for the visit. I will have a couple big chores to hire out. Like topping and cleaning up the big tree here. It's maple...much past it young days, been trimmed before. I like the crew I get. They clean it all up and haul it away. The fellow who built the deck, need to come boards the bottom in...because there will be a rabbit apartment otherwise. Jack, in all the years I have lived I had never seen a groundhog in town. This past week I saw 3 in 4 days. No it was not the same one. All the wild things are coming into town.
DeleteTake care and be safe. Hold your sweetie. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Girls and hair made me smile. I have 5 daughters and saw many hair styles through the years!! I still help Ellen with her hair sometimes but she is not one that likes fussy.
ReplyDeleteIt's getting cooler here too. A week in the 90's was brutal!! Had to remind myself that it was actually September. Now I'm ready to get some mums and put out the fall wreaths!
Always good to hear from you, dear friend!
Doris, I would go back in time if I could just to comb and braid my girls hair. Every fancy braid or ponytail. Kids did not dye their hair back then...neither did I. LOL. Hope you get to enjoy some wonderful autumn days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt is getting cool here too and I am happy about that:) I love little ones and their hair getting long enough to style. Brooklyn wanted me to straighten hers when they were here for a sleepover and of course I did. Mums are a refreshing flower for Fall. I need some for my yard.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day dear friend! HUGS!
Hi Theresa, I know you enjoy your little girl. Hold her tight...they grow way to fast. My newest great grandson is 2 months old . I have not held him person but he is in my heart. I have seen many changes in all the pics the kids send out. I am thankful for those. Hope you get some mums. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deletei love mums, i wish they stayed colorful longer before dying off!! i was not blessed with girls, just boys...so remember "doing" hair as a gift!! it's been cold here at night, but today, for football and festivals, 77 degrees!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some football weather. I think we will have a cool down. Our weather this whole year has been odd. A few good days here and there. I loved doing hair styles but hate the combing of long hair with tangles till I found a spray on detangler. What a relief. Blessings to you and Steve, xoxo, Susie
Deletejust stopping by to see how your'e doing! Love the pretty mums picture. Mr. Front Porch brought me home 2 this weekend. Not really Fall here, yet. I'm still waiting.....Ha ha. LOL Oh gosh I miss doing girl's hair too....so many ponytails! and twists, and braids and swoops and curls and fluff and BUNS for dance. The days went by so fast. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbi, I think of you more often now that my granddaughter's family is living in S.C. Her mommy, my Liz, used to keep Lynz's hair short so not many tangles or tears. LOL. Blessings to you and your Mr. , xoxo, Susie
DeleteJo, Mums really used to be so reasonable...nothing is any more it seems. Oh my girls and I have whined over hair tangles many times. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSusie! I missed you! Thank you for stopping by my blog! I took a little hiatus after my mom died in July. Then I got hospitalized with pneumonia twice and covid last month. I wrote about it on my blog. It's been a challenging few months, but I have faith things are going to continue to get better. Be blessed my friend!
